Boy oh boy! This video should’ve came with a trigger warning for the sensitive folks out there! I don’t go around making my sexual orientation my identity. But when my boyfriend comes to eat lunch with me at my job or when I’m asked about my weekend plans, I tell them as plainly as any straight person would and use the term “boyfriend”. I’m not going to lie and say “girlfriend” to make sure someone isn’t offended. I’m also not a liar. My sex life has never been discussed at any job I’ve had. My sex life has crossed more minds with this video than it has my own! To the supporters, thank you all! To the haters, thanks for the views as well! It is helping me get monetized ❤️

In the southern states, transgender people can't get medicine and it's being outlawed for adults as well. After they lock up the transgenders, they'll be coming for the gays as they say they misuse their body parts and they will end up unhappy. They already lied to get you fired; your lucky they didn't get you arrested. You may not be able to sue over being fired but could sue over rumors.

I try to explain it like this, the United States is vast, as big as all the EU but I’m just one country. And we have 50 different states, all with different laws, and attitudes, just like the countries in the EU. So there are very liberal/accepting countries in the EU, and there are also anti-gay members like Poland. The same way in the USA. The anti-gay parts are usually the south and the midwest, especially small towns.

I was fired because I was gay. I recorded (secretly) the conversation that led up to it. Initially, was told it WASN'T because I was gay, but, when I confronted the person that fired me with the fact that I had his conversation that led up to my firing, he immediately went into denial, (WHICH I ALSO RECORDED). This whole incident led up to me suing them and as a result, I won a million-dollar lawsuit. In exchange for the money, I asked the court if it would be possible to post a sign at his business saying that this particular business was homophobic, and fires anyone who is gay. the court actually gave me permission to do this and as a result, they went out of business. You MUST stand up for yourself at all costs, because you can not let someones ignorant religious beliefs and homophobic and hateful propaganda exist. This is called the Paradox of Tolerance. You can not tolerate intolerance, because tolerance will cease to exist.

The reality is that gay people, especially gay men, don´t have jobs. My contract was terminated very recently. I worked at a supermarket cashier for a year. The excuse given by the manager was that there were no places to employ people. The funniest? The day I terminated the contract was the day I went to complain about a supervisor who was annoying me with constant provocations and homophobia. I spent a year putting up with her and many other people and I kept my mouth shut. When I go to complain, they terminate my contract. Moral of the story? The aggressor and homophobe gets the job and receives no sanctions and the homosexual leaves. Gay men don´t stay forever in work places like straight people do.

Yes that happened to me as well, even as an introvert. Back when I had my first great government job. I was in my probationary period of one year and worked very hard. I was always on time, stayed late and never took a day off for almost 12 months. I wrote a computer code to automate an application but was I still told that I was not being selected and was let go during my final week of probation (12 month). My manager stated that I didn't fit in and I responded, I wasn't hired to fit in. I was hired because of my technical skills, I had never been written up and this wasn't fair. Well it didn't matter that I also had 2 Information Technology Degrees and an MBA in Accounting. I stayed in the closet but someone still suspected that I was gay (by rumor) because I didn't socialize with anyone. So I became unemployed for 8 months, while searching for a comparable position. Somehow I thought that having most of the right credentials and being an Air Force Veteran of 26 years would be enough to save me but it wasn't. My former boss, was a female and she let go 3 men prior to my arrival (only females were selected to stay) and so it goes both ways with discrimination. Being much older, I would only say, to do whatever you have to do to survive and even by playing it safe, will not always be enough. So in the end, my former female manager was fired for discrimination and I made it back into the government, at several grades higher. I'm now near the top(GS14) God is good but keep your cards close to your chest.

Hey Dylan, sorry to hear about this story but, I believe you learned a valuable life lesson. People will hate you for whatever reasons because that is the nature of social beings. You will never make someone like you so never waste your time trying do so. Spend your time and energy on those who matter rather than trying to make a friend out of an enemy. You stated that you pushed hard to talk to and befriend this girl and that probably backfired because she could very well interpret that as "harassment". It doesn't make it right but this is the nature of workplace politics nowadays. The same thing happened to me. I was surrounded at work by straight people who talked about sex ALL the time. I'm gay and married and I didn't hide that. But I never talked about my sex life. But some people didn't like that I'm gay. So I get called into HR for making sexual comments. They couldn't tell me who said I did that or what I had supposedly said. All I could do was say "No, I didn't." And HR was like "There were a lot of witnesses." I'm like "Did they tell you that they talk about giving their husbands blow jobs?? I bet they didn't!"

Even in the world of show-biz in the '60s, I had to hide the fact that I was gay and that my partner was one of the most famous faces of the day. Painful to have each lived a lie outside of the home. Even going to a "red carpet" premiere we had to have two Rolls Royces and arrive with a few other arrivals between us so that the press didn't put two and two together or we would each take a devine young model (girl) on our arm!! Funny but sad and hardly any further advanced today. I was 16, partner was 38 but the age gap was NOT the issue: it was about being known to be an homo in the days when being one meant PRISON in the UK!!!

Just stumbled on your channel. Thank you for sharing, it's a real valuable lesson and sorry you had to experience discrimination and homophobia. It has always fascinated me as a person of faith how hypocritical, hateful and corrupt so many religious people are. Most religious holy books teach of compassion, taking care and defending the oppress, the Bible says , “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.". Well, as much as I dislike this phase, "everything happens for a reason", there are bigger and better things align for you and you needed to get out of there. I've learned the hard way too, work "friends" are just that "work friends" , NOT your real friends 🙂.

I've watched this go full circle. I am 75, been a gay radical all my life, was in Mattachine early on before I was at Stonewall, and started feeling the return of the surge of bigotry about when we got legalized marriage. I always felt that was a bad choice because it was revokeable, we should have gone after job stability and housing stability first. Now I am watching rethugnicans gnawing away at our gains. They had best watch their step, because many of us geriatric gays were in the military and know how to use firearms. I have had to use mine for personal safety more than once. I am glad i have maintained a concealed permit all my adult life.

Everyone has heard of bigotry and prejudice but until you are actually the victim of it you don’t understand the damage it does to your self esteem and personality. Of course everyone is different and some will brush it aside as though it’s nothing which I suspect is a self defense mechanism. I’ve experienced it more than once or twice in my life and each time I was surprised, shocked, hurt, withdrawn and as a result less trusting and. less open. When someone says they are a Christian what I hear is I’m a person that will judge you because I am intolerant of anyone, or anything that does not conform to my church doctrine. When they start with their hate the sin, love the sinner I usually tell them we already have so much in common as I have a saying I believe in as well hate the religion, love the brainwashed. I would love to have a bumper sticker that says Save Starving Lions Donate a Christian.

@@dylangabriel13 People who say that one’s “personal life” shouldn’t be a “topic of discussion at work” have the privilege of not having to worry about their own sexual orientation having an impact on their job. Discrimination against gay people in the workplace is well documented and it’s not as if you were the one doing the talking, it was people who were making up lies about you. Anyone who watched your entire video should understand that. As for personal life being discussed at work, of course that happens. People tell their co-workers when they get married, if they have a baby, how their children are doing, etc.

Another example of religious people turning out to be complete hypocrites. I've been fortunate enough not to have been treated negatively by my religious relatives and people I know. At work, even though I don't get personal with anyone, co-workers have seemed to figure out or suspect that I'm gay. I had an incident where a co-worker said something inappropriate and was overheard by a supervisor. To my surprise, the supervisor called me into his office and apologized for what had happened. I later learned the employee was given a week off. Afterward, he and his buddy that worked there behaved with a bit of hostility towards me, as if I had anything to do with the incidence. Fortunately, those two aren't there anymore, and all is good at work.

1 of my favorite ways to describe bigots who call themselves Christians is- "Those people are as close to being Real Christians as a Plastic Rhinestone is to being a Diamond" (Credit to Korey Ray Wilson for that). Except for 1 job where i was fired because i'm a man at a job dominated by women , The only other thing i was ever fired for was when they found out that i am gay . it happened more than a few times . the most Sinister time was in the US military but i got an honorable discharge because i refused to Leave Quietly without that . When i joined i was still reeling from my boss being murdered on a night i was scheduled to work but i worked my other job that night instead and 2 other people close to my family & friends group were murdered too . so when the military recruiter called i took the test and they wouldn't let me go home for 3 days till all the medical exams were done and contracts were signed . Now, this was Before DADT started So, i had to say & write down if you add them together a total of 5 times that i Wasn't Gay . I just felt it was None Of Their Business . fast forward After US Navy Bootcamp. i'm on leave back home and i meet this sweet guy whose grandfather has an aircraft carrier named after him . i gave him the information for where to write to me But he lost it So he called Donald Rumsfeld (A close family Friend ) and yes eventually Rumsfeld would become Secretary of Defense under G.W.Bush but at that time Rumsfeld was lying to everybody claiming to be Secretary of the US Navy . So this sweet guy called Rumsfeld asking what ship i was on so he could write to me . Not Knowing that Donald Rumsfeld is a bigoted Prick who of course knows this sweet guy is gay so now he knows i am too . The last piece of mail i got while in the Navy was a letter telling me all this . Rumsfeld reported me and when they 1st came after me Bush Sr was president but i was still in the Navy a few more years . Then DADT started and they really came after me i was informed that the FBI was in my home city trying to find out if i was gay and The NIS -Naval Investigative Service was looking deep into who i was too .. The FBI ,Not only Didn't rat me out (they knew) they raised my security clearance higher . This made the bigots angry . So, they picked a small guy and Ordered him to attack me (HE choked me with his eyes closed tight) expecting that i would beat him up (So they could call me a bully and throw me out ) but i didn't . Then they claimed i did all this stuff i didn't do . they even put on paper a filthy thing they claimed i said that caused the man to attack me . something i wouldn't even say during sex . I wasn't found guilty of any of it by the judging panel but they said i had to let them put me out of the Navy and like i said i told them i will go with only 6 months left on my 4 years of service but ok i will go but only with an Honorable Discharge . so that is how i left my military service . Normally if they put someone out for being gay ,they took the uniforms. i can wear mine anytime i want to .

@Dylan I am sorry you had this experience. There is never a reason for anyone to go through this in today's times. I had a similar experience when I was 29 years old in Cambridge, MA. I worked for a company called Information Access Corporation which is owned by Thomson Corporation. Thomson Corporation is a corporate conglomerate owning Thomson Financial, Reuters, Thomson Publishing, and many other corporations throughout the world. While I understand your reluctance to name the company that fired you or the people involved, I recognize that doing so is a major step filled with stress. I learned that one of the only ways to force companies to learn that they cannot illegally terminate LGBTQ employees is to take action against them when they perform actions like improperly terminating an employee based on fear, without investigating the facts. I was in a similar situation where a single person's fear precipitated the company's actions. Thomson had policies against such behaviors, and yet it went all the way up to the CEO of Thomson USA and he approved my termination after months of harassment designed to solicit my voluntary termination. I sued one of the largest corporations in the USA when I went after Thomson for their illicit actions. I wasn't seeking money, but it didn't matter what I sought, the company was indignant that I had the audacity to sue them for their illegal actions (illegal in Massachusetts at the time). I won 2 of 3 court cases against Thomson and that led them to bribe the 3rd and final magistrate. I know that sounds wild, but that was confirmed several years later by the woman who delivered the bribe to the magistrate. I ended up working with her. She left her Thomson job the Monday after she was unwillingly solicited to deliver an illegal bribe of a Thomson Financial retirement account preloaded with $60k dollars. I forced Thomson Corporation to spend over $2MM fighting me because of their wrongdoing. Because they had to spend so much money fighting me, they developed additional company policies and procedures as well as training programs. When we experience such flagrant wrongdoing by the companies we work for, it is incumbent upon us to ensure they don't ever do that to another person. If we do not, they will repeat bad behaviors until they are taught it will cost them every time they do. You will never forget what has happened to you and it will shape how you feel about the companies you work for and the people around you. I can tell you that the one person who orchestrated this against you had more against you than you probably know. I wonder if when you first met, she had a crush on you and took you being gay as a personal attack on her or rejection. It really doesn't matter if that is true or not, we can never know what drives another person to hate versus acceptance or unconditional love. I can warn you that by letting her and her religious organization spread fear, the cost was much higher than just your job because now they are driven by an egoic sense that they can always use their religion to push and force others to do their bidding and will. That isn't a religion, it is a cult.

Hey Dude! You would be an inspiration for a lot of our younger people who maybe going through a dilemma of how to 'Come Out'! Here in Australia we went for a referendum to vote whether Gays should have the right to marry & it was an unanimous outcome of 'Yes'! But although every country finds particular parts of other people's lives revolting or against their beliefs, you have to leave that with them & not take that on as it is their problem! I know you would know that but for anybody else that is thinking of 'Coming Out' know you are who you are & stand proud & don't take anyone's elses baggage as you don't HAVE to 😊!

I can relate to your story. I lost a job in a similar way over fifteen years ago. People from another part of the business made things up. I man claimed that had been harassing him. The whole thing was made up. A new manager who didn't really know bought the story. It was all lies. My supervisor that I worked for was there. He later told me that he didn't believe any of the story. He moved to a similar business and hired to work for him. I'm sure he knew I was gay but it was never mentioned. That unfortunate incident taught me the same lesson. To be more careful with people. To that the same thing couldn't happen again. Employers know what the anti- discrimination policies are so in my case they said I had allegedly violated company policy by harassing another employee. That's all they said. It wasn't true. I'm sure my firing was based on homophobia. That didn't want to disclose they truth. I had nothing wrong. So they made something. I heard the lie that had been made up when I was denied unemployment benefits. Their lies were unbelievable. They hurt deeply but I had to move on. Yes there is descrimination in the workplace. As you mentioned all kinds of descrimination but it's kept hidden. I could take some comfort in knowing this company had a reputation for wrongful termination I'm retired now. I don't have to worry about things like this. I can't tell you what a relief it is no longer living under that kind of pressure. Being unfairly terminal because of sexual orientation isn't easily forgotten nor should be be. It's not right but it makes stronger and more determined to protect ourselves in a world that doesn't understand. I hope that you never have to go through that again. You can be a model employee at your job but all you've worked for can quickly go down when you are fired because your gay. Just remember that you are not a bad person because you are. The people that cause such to happen are the bad people.
