COYOTE SWAPPED, 1988 Thunderbird is the PERFECT hot rod! 

I think they're one of the best looking, smoothest, most comfortable cars to drive, ever - so much so, I've had 3 of them & still own one; a fully loaded original '84 turbo coupe... hopefully, always will. I say "hopefully" because I rolled one of them ☹. Cried for 2 weeks over that car. (don't be looking crazy, I'm a girl & I can cry if I want to, 🎶🤣)

I'm glad you are doing a video on these Thunderbirds. They have a special place in my heart. My project car is 86 Turbo coup with a IRS from a cobra. Now i'm saving up funds to do a coyote swap.

83-88 T-Birds are a great chassis to work on. Everything you can do to the Mustang, you can do with these T-Birds and, the added wheelbase length gives them a great ride and comfy seating for 4. I had a hot 302 and Magnum 500 wheels on my 83 and it looked pretty good. Miss that car!

reminds me of my first time ... swapping a motor. I put a 302 from a mustang in a v6 thunderbird. called it the thunderchicken. that thing looks awesome. i would love to drive it.

That Thunderbird is beautiful. I had an 88 model in high school. It was my first car with the 5.0.

Saw this T-Bird in Detroit at Radwood this year! Stunning car, owner had a cool story too. Pretty sure he took home an award for the car. Couldn’t believe I was the only Fox Mustang at the show. Nice presentation of the car in this video!

Wanted to build a T bird for a long time. Hard to find one with all those moldings etc still there. That car is iconic. Mostly in nascar worlds, but it's still a badass street car in any trim

car that just works, a 3.73 rear gear makes it fun but it needs 1.5 or 1-5/8 inch axle shafts. the little 1 inch 8.8's are like a tester/teaser.

This is sick my first car was an 86 tbird i always wanted to fix it up with mustang stuff like wheels and brakes and dreamed of a 408 stroker under the hood to walk all the mustangs that were around back in the day but i was too young and broke to do anything so i never got to. This was over 10 years before the coyote existed. I couldnt have imagined a coyote in mine back in those days. Very cool build but the rest of that ugly chrome gotta go make it look classier like a turbo coupe (it has the hood already). Interior is well done those seats are awesome i have the full leather black versions in my 07 gt500 i think im gonna put another pair like them in my 97 cobra theyre killer seats for a street car. This would look killer wity a custom tbird logo on the seats where it now saus corbeau (similar to the custom coil covers which are sweet btw) the black ones i have dont have a logo when full leather which i like makes them look oem+ which is the look i was going for. Wonferful job on this build tbirds are cool 😎

Yeah, you're so right. That car is the complete package. That's exactly what I want for my Zephyr. I don't care about racing or getting attention. I want something I can jump in and cruise. Sit in traffic or take a long trip if I have to and not worry... rides well. I'm almost there. No Coyote, but enough to be fun.

I built my 85 SVTBIRD 20 plus years ago. Automatic Turbo Coupe that I hung a clutch pedal in and went V8 roller B303 cammed, World-class 5spd, 8.8 3.73 equipped, Motorsports big Cobra brake kit, koni's at all 4 corners, caster camber plate, urethane bushings, cruise and AC worked. Loved the car and it was a blast.

Am considering installing my 550 hp. 351C into my 88 Turbo Coupe. The Coyote would be a better swap, but the C' build is new. Built to replace the 351W in my 69 Torino. Now surplus.

I would love to do this with a Mark VII, but it seems so daunting. How do you get the cluster, tripminder, and ignition to work? These are always mysteries left unsaid in many of these videos.

I love the fox and MN12 tbirds. Id love to do a yote in one sometime but they are too expensive to do in my area right now. LS is the way i go with them for my budget. Both ways they are a blast to drive and not a cookie cutter mustang

Hot rod or carcraft did a 88 460 turbo tbird got the engine in it and cage never finished the story. Never been real keen on the coyotes. Love a turbo 427 Windsor based bird . Name it flippn the bird 😂❤💯👍🇺🇸🔥

Ditch the mudflaps and put a turbo coupe nose (body color) on it, and body color mirrors and it would be perfect.

Perfect FORD, maybe a Mercury Marauder coyote swap could top it , 4 doors and huge trunk, and cop presence.

So then the next question is has anyone done a coyote V-8 swap on a fox body mercury cougar? Or find a early 1980's fox body cougar station wagon (and yes they made them. I've seen only one) and coyote V-8 swap that. You'll be the only one With that combination.

Nice to see another well done ‘80’s T-Bird…..a car that definitely doesn’t get the attention it deserves. I’ve owned by ‘87 TC since 1991 that I bought from the original owner after he crashed it. Restored the car to original condition that same year. Since that time everything has been modded on it. Full suspension, Cobra brakes, interior updates and a supercharged built 5.0/5-speed swap back in 2003. Still own the car to this day and will never sell it. Why??? Why the JLT CAI??? Pmas is where it's at, especially for Coyotes. Also, noticed that CAI is ingesting hot engine bay air. I know it's not my car. I also will not consider a CAI for my 14 Mustang GT/TP that has the possibility of ingesting hot engine bay air.

Totally a Gorgeous T bird its a shame you had too cobble it up with a 4.7 coyote motor its No 5.0 3.63 bore by 3.63 stroke dose not come up too 5.0 sorry for your luck That why i went 351 windsor pushed out to 427 with a Eaton whipple and 874 hp Vs 430hp Enjoy your Wimpy Motor forsure Lmao and Fords Lyes too
