I’m new to trapping and appreciate your videos. You mentioned that guys stay away from bait right now. So should I limit bait use during breeding season and can you explain why? Thanks so much!
Great video Amigo. Feeding my trapping jones.. I've got my stuff ready to go and just waiting on the season to begin.. Thanks for the info, kepp them coming.
You're a trusting soul even though that is quality catch pole. It'd get a 3rd ear before I'd tote that thing one foot with it squiggling around like that. You must have made that tool. Looks like an estwing with a piece welded on. Does a good job in that rock
Cool video. I also like to make the bed slightly smaller than my trap. About the only thing I see you doing different from what I learned is that I use my hammer to really push that ground up against my jaws. I haven't seen where doing this has cost me a catch during cold weather yet in PA. You can't beat peat moss for covering and plain table salt.
😂 Not sure exactly what you would expect me to do. The strips we trap are miles and miles of old haul roads. I’m definitely not walking all of them and it makes zero sense to take an atv when I can drive my truck lol
It’s a audible click that tells you that your trap is set. You can achieve this yourself by filing the pan post down. If this is done correctly your trap will throw but the pan won’t creep much at all. The pan won’t travel down as far before it goes off.
If people are going down there with their children and pet dogs do you ever have accidental catches of dogs or kids. Are you obliged to put signs up to inform people trapping is in progress. Great videos by the way, no trapping like that allowed in Ireland just snares.
If you put signs up to signal where your traps are you won't have to worry about catching any domestic dogs. You won't have any traps left they'll all be stolen.
