Your videos are truly a sort of therapy. I work in an office and look forward to coming home to solitude, with your videos on in the background. I can’t forage in my city, and I’m not that skilled, but I have made a few oils and syrups and it’s very satisfying. I’m not sure where herbalism may take me but your videos encourage me to research and explore what I can do. And thank you for showing us the failed experiments as well! An awesome reminder that experts are not without trial and error.

I was born, raised, & currently live in East TN but I moved to Edmonds, Wa when I was 17 and lived in various parts of Western Washington for 13 years. I didn’t know one person when I moved out there. The “songs” of that land is like no where else. Goldenrod is amazing for making tinctures for respiratory problems. But with goldenrod, you would want to make the tincture from fresh instead of dried.

I'm currently infusing some dried out rosehips in olive oil. I found a whole bunch of rosehips during my hike on an island in Maine and I picked so many of them. I plan on using the herbal oil as a hair treatment. It's amazing what you can create with so many plants available to us out in the wilderness!

I love harvesting season. It’s that time of the year here in Illinois and this one feels a bit different. I just finished gathering all the herbs from my garden and started the drying process. I also went down to the river to forage someone dandelions, plantain, violets, echinacea, and wild bergamot. I’ll be moving to Colorado in December and the land there isn’t as fertile, so I will definitely be missing this. By the way, I love your longer videos!

I suffer from allergy's and I heard about honey helping me so I started taking local honey and then on to any honey I'm not as bad as a few years ago where my eyes were itching and I sneezed a lot even when it's not hayfever season

Goldenrod is just so lovely. Makes a great tincture for colds and stuffy nose issues. I keep a big patch in the backyard mixed with the milkweed for all those pollinators to enjoy.

I’m delighted you chose to post about goldenrod. It’s only just starting to bloom here in the Ozark foothills of Arkansas and I was just pondering on how to make use of it. Medicinal alcohol tinctures tend to be my go to with most wild herbs, that or simply drying for teas. I’m so looking forwards to following your lead on this in conjunction with more research. Side note: With your oils, I was ‘taught’ to use a rice press with the cloth in it to get as much out possible. I don’t know if you knew that one, but wanted to make the suggestion.

I’d be interested to learn more about what you do with everything you make- do you sell stuff? Every time I make something like salve or oil, it just ends up sitting around, I’m not sure how to actually use it and I end up wasting it. Like, I understand I can moisturizer with a salve; but it would take me a year to use a whole jar, so I’m curious how you use up all the stuff you make.

I ve done.all the.tintures and Homemade Local.Picked Elderberry Tonic I make.and STILL that Monster Weed Kicks.My Ass Every year. MAYBE U HAVENA CURE U can Show Us how to make sometime 😆

So wonderful. And I'm so sad, the goldenrod used are super invasive in northern Europe, there so beautiful but totally take over the natural habitats. So if people had som more knowlige like in this video there might be a way to find a balance, use them for good a purpose. ☀️

since I have started ingesting LOCAL honey my seasonal allergy symptoms are practically non existent , I also gave up all sullfites and sulfates on my diet ( they stick it in everything you have to read the ingredients ..pasta, bread, snack food etc everything they sneak in it) I have not had one full blown asthma attack. If I do start to get that chest tightness because I cleaned the dog or the chicken coop ... I either make a chamomile tea or get a can of classic coke and add anise oil into them ,,, just a couple of drops ,,,, and stay very still trying to stay calm and just breath as deep as I can until I can breath normal again and the tightness usually takes 10-20 minutes. I swear the secret ingredient in coke is anise. Why honey works : is that you are building an immunity up to what you allergic to ...since the bees make the honey out of the local plants you are allergic to so over time you build up an immunity ,,, your body does not react have the same allergic reaction it use to ... I still the sneezes but nothing like I use wher I was so stuffed up I could not sleep
