I agree with you 100%! I need a cozy murder mystery every month - 'course depending on how fast I read. If am reading any other genre, I find myself looking thru my collection for a murder mystery I haven't read yet 😅 I recommend The Shady Hollow murder mystery series
Favorite Christie's for me include: Cards on The Table The Man in The Brown Suit And Then There Were None Five Little Pigs....Oh who am I kidding, I love every single book I've ever read by her! (I've only ready about 30). I too very much enjoyed every bit of the Sherlock Holmes stories!
🔎that was fun - I have always loved Agatha Christie as my Grandma used to gift me one of hers whenever I visited. - And then there were none - is Agatha's best book
🔎🔍 I like cozy mysteries. I will read them all year because there are so many seasonal themes to tie in with any time of year. Now is the time where I scoop up all the witchy and autumnal cozies.
I love the Mydworth Mysteries, the Charles Lennox mysteries, Sherlock Holmes stories, the Phylilda bright mysteries, so far the Modiciai Tremain mysteries, Murder of Mr. Whickham etc. Love them all so far. Hope this helps anyone else 🙂❤. Sending love and good vibes 😊
Great video! I really need to read Agatha Christie - I must be the only other person who hasn't read any of her books haha! Love a cosy murder mystery for winter - so many great recs! Thanks you
I recently stumbled upon “cozy mysteries” and came to your video looking for some recommendations! My first book that introduced me to the genre/sub-genre was Murder at Mayfair Hotel. I loved it and look forward to reading the rest of the Cleopatra Fox series!
Ooh i get that. I would suggest The Agathas, its a YA mystery but with a MC that is obsessed with Agatha Christie that sets out to solve a mystery. Its alot of fun and doesn't see much hype
I’m a new subscriber and working my way through Agatha Christie. I also just started my first Sherlock Holmes book, The Hound of the Baskervilles. I really like The Thursday Murder Club mysteries. And I recommend The Postscript Murders by Elly Griffith if you liked Thursday Murder Club. It’s book two of a series but my favorite of the three and I think it’s fine as a stand alone. But there’s a group of characters of different ages and situations that get together to solve a murder. I really wish Griffiths would do more with that group of characters. She also has a series with Ruth Galloway that’s very cozy and loads of books which should be read in order. Thanks for the recommendations! There are several new to me and they sound interesting. I read a variety of books especially books written by British women from the 1930’s - early 60’s, authors are new to me, and I’m really enjoying them. Most are cozy though not necessarily mysteries.
@@ReadingNymph I love D. E. Stevenson there are many to choose from, but some favorites for me so far are The Four Graces, The Young Clementina, The House on the Cliff). Also Molly Clavering (try Dear Hugo [mostly in form of letters] or Near Neighbors) Elizabeth Fair (Bramton Wick or Seaview House). Oh and Elizabeth Goudge, I’ve only read The Scent of Water but it was lovely. If you like Miss Marple, try Patricia Wentworth’s Miss Silver series. I’ve heard people say DON’T start with the first which is The Grey Mask, not as good or much Miss Silver. The Chinese Shawl is a good one to try. I hope you enjoy them if you try. For me, they’re the perfect cozy retreat, kind people, small villages, heart warming at times. (Not the mysteries so much but the others 😉).
I wouldn't class Sherlock Holmes as a cosy murder mystery but they are amazing mystery detective stories.I would n't have Agatha christie there either though both are stunning.
I totaly love Agatha Chistie. I buy them in bulk. Lol. What do you think about the modern editions. I hear the compliment of someones white teeth got cut. I agree with the fact that the original title of and then there were none was changed, but changeing a compliment? Is that going a bit far? What do you think? Thanks for the other recommendations. Just subscribed
Books getting updated text has gone on since books have been published. Its something that is now becoming more spoken about but has happened for generations. I agree something like a compliment didn't need to be changed. Overall, I like the modern editions, though I haven't read the original to compare it to. Thank you 😊
@@ReadingNymph ah gotcha 😃. Did you enjoy it?😜 Because I certainly did. It was so entertaining and had me at the edge of my seat. Especially at the end.
I love a murder mystery and I have read Minette Walters, some Karen Rose but they seemed very similar. Also Lisa Gardner. They are all adult books and Lisa Gardner’s books are really hard hitting. I will need to try some Sherlock and Miss Marple books. 🕵️♂️🗝🔍🔎📝
@@ReadingNymph A Cotswolds killing (I think this is the first one) or Death in the Cotswolds. There are so many haha. I see you live in Uk. They usually have them in local Libraries if you wanna check them.
🔍 LOVED The Good Girl's Guide to Murder series. I have read the first in the Thursday Murder Club and really enjoyed it. I am definitely a murder mystery gal too.
yes they are 😀Have you read anything by Benjamin Stevenson? I read one of his books this month Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone....the twist was that unexpected I nearly dropped the book in shock lol. It has so many laugh out loud moments too which I LOVED @@ReadingNymph
Have you read any of the Richard Jury mysteries by Martha Grimes ?? Very very good and there are several of them, they get better every new book! Please try them 👍🏻
I finished A good girl's guide to murder in one sitting and I need more recommendations that are similar to this book PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SOS HELP ME FIND ONE BEFORE I FINISH THE SERIES😭🙏🙇♀️
I would recommend The Murder of Mr Wickham by Claudia Gray. A cozy whodunit with almost every beloved characters in all of Jane Austen's work. I would not recommend Death Comes at Pemberley by P.D. James. I also have a middle grade mystery on my physical tbr that is inspired by Agatha Christie and Poirot. Aggie Morton by Marthe Jocelyn. Aaand I just finished The Honjin Murders by Seishi Yukomizo who is described as the Japanese equivalent to Agatha Christie and I can vouch for that 😉
