The bath bomb is so cute, and I think you are honoring it by cutting it up and enjoying it many times instead of just once :) Ok I need to up my mocktail game this summer, because I don't want to drink very often, but I DO always want a fancy little treat lol.

Yes to mocktails!! I love finding a sparkling soda or drink and then adding in whatever juices or syrups make sense. And then maybe adding in some fresh fruit. Top with a gummy candy haha. The possibilities are endless!!

I thought of you when I added the hand clapping effect 😂😂 Almost did the Brooklin wave too muhuhahhaha. And it’s coconut cream in the squeeze bottle 😠 I was so SO annoyed in the moment but then when I was waiting, I couldn’t stop laughing 😂 I’m working on being more real (aka showing “slip ups”/imperfect moments) and this one was too funny not to add in hahahahha. This was so good! I was literally thinking about doing a creature from the black lagoon themed vlog but then I realized I have no creature merch or anything rn so I’m living vicariously through you in this video lol He is definitely my favorite universal monster. The lady from the black lagoon is definitely going on my TBR Also as an anxious ghoul I’m gonna try the foot soaking! I definitely am in need of some grounding. And I never thought to do bathbombs for my feet! I love bath bombs but not bathing in them. As you were cutting it I was thinking you could use like a cheese grater or something and grate the back to preserve the beautiful face!!

Oh my gosh please do a creature vlog!! I don’t think you know how much joy it brings me to find more peeps who love Creature and Universal Monsters stuff in general. The cheese grater hack is BRILLIANT 😍 My bath bomb is already doomed but I will be sure to try that on my other bath bombs that I struggle to use. There’s just something about warm water at my feet that calms me so much! It basically does the job of a whole bath without having to get fully immersed! 💦

I'm loving your tiki drinks bar so much!! I've heard a lot of great things about that book so going higher up on the TBR! And I loooooove the Reading Glasses podcast, it's great for finding recs outside the horror genre! Mallory O'Meara also wrote a book called Girly Drinks about the history of the relationship of women and alcoholic drinks so you may be interested in that as well, although it's not necessarily spooky.

Yeasss girly drinks!! The one part that really sticks out to me is the section about cleopatra because I was obsessed with ancient Egypt as a kid and it really brings me back 😂

So here for all the chill vibes, although I gasped when you started cutting up the Gill-man🤣I've always liked how the original film doubles the Gill-man with Kay and the cinematography. Reading the book about Milicent Patrick really gave me a whole new appreciation for the costume design.🐠 Totally hear what you're saying about the sequels. I like Revenge of the Creature for teaching about colonization and exhibition spaces but it def doesn't hit the same way visually for me.🌊

@@happyhauntslibrary No fear, I'm pretty certain they were filmed at the same time. I meant doubling as in being mirror images of one another to show Kay is an outsider with limited agency like the Gill-man. I do remember hearing that the person who played the creature could hold their breath for a really, really long time and wasn't even an actor but a diver. Pretty wild what they pulled off!

@@happyhauntslibrary Exactly! I had a professor point out how the two characters mimic each other in the swimming scene and then when you start to look for it, it's everywhere. I think one of the reasons the men run to the danger is because Kay is already dangerous enough because she holds professional power and the men can't cope 🙄You've totally made me want to go back and watch the third film 🤓

Kay is such a stand-out in this movie but there’s still a lot to be desired from the writing. But then your analysis brings some much-needed agency to her character. I wish Kay was in the sequels!!

I definitely appreciate them! It’s so hard when the original was so great. They’re fun but don’t do anything unique, mostly because they feel like Creature knock-offs. I wish they were more inspired! Oh I love it! The Tirimisu flavor is definitely noticeable. There’s also two other flavors. I got them from my local Safeway which was such a surprise because I’ve only purchased them online. So happy to see a small business get wider distribution!
