Wow I'm loving milanote! I am editing my novel but it felt like some things weren't clicking so started creating some boards to lay things out and it's making such a difference
I gotta say. When I saw you posted a new video, it was a insta click. Didn’t read the title or anything. You have this cozy vibe that every video you make is like a warm hug. I love your journey and I’m so proud of your work and you for your drive, hard work and determination and dedication. I’m happy you are feeling better and please take care of yourself. ❤
I've been having a terribly anxiety-inducing month so I was really looking forward your next video. Thank you so much for being a small escape to people like me.
Hello Christy, Your content is amazing! You are the reason why I started picking up books again. I have to admit, I took a break from reading due to painting sessions. But overall, books are a powerful tool. An increase with vocabulary makes you sound smarter and sharper. Don’t stop reading! Do what you love!
Hello Christy Anne! I love these "how you plan your story" videos! I've been writing short stories since I was a kid and just recently started planning a novel. It is actually really nice to see how you do some of your planning as writing a novel (as you know) can be hard to keep all my subplots and plots in order. Thanks again and a very delightful video!
I'm having a love-hate relationship with writing for a while and hearing you talk about writing made me decide i wanna pick up the pen (or keyboard haha) this weekend again. ❤
I completely agree with you in regards to having to sometimes force yourself to go and work somewhere else than your home. It is so easy and comfortable just working from home, that when I do leave the house I sometimes feel very nervous and anxious. I tend to go and work in our city library :) Glad to hear you are making more time for yourself this year Christy!
Hi Christie Anne, rest and relaxation and socializing so important. Also never underestimate the power of a good night's sleep. Sure you are aware of these writing necessities but they are worth repeating!! Take care of yourself!! Thank you for an informative video. Never seen Millinote before. Thank you so much for sharing it.❤
Your reaction to Word changing its default layout was the same as mine haha. I'm doing my thesis right now, so most of my documents have the old Calibri layout. I really don't want to deal with the new one, so for now I'm just copy-pasting the files that I already have and then change everything to keep the layout instead of starting a brand new one.
Word tip! you can change the theme in word settings (options) and font default under the pop out. Under the font section there is a little arrow, click that and it will allow you to mess with all the defaults for this doc or all docs!!
What a nice, cozy vlog! I’m glad you’re feeling better! Definitely take it easy in terms of exercise for at least 2-3 months after COVID. It will help you avoid long COVID. 💜 I love the way you talk about your work/life balance. Your writing goals sound super solid! Good luck with all of them! 🥰
Endwalker absolutely destroyed me emotionally - i've listened to some of the livestreamed panels for the writing in that game and it is so well crafted and every detail is super well thought! i've never been able to find a story that moved me and had such a huge range of world builsing like that in any other type of media. i hope you enjoy the end of that story arc!!
I’ve been loving your videos! I’m an aspiring (closeted?) picture book author/illustrator, but your content has inspired me to revisit a middle grade novel I started a few years ago. So, thank you!! 🤓 It is nice to have a couple different genres going at the same time. All the writing/work day tips are so helpful. And Milanote looks fantastic!!
So many exciting updates! Good on you for prioritizing work-life balance this year. Thank you for sharing your short story planning process. The moodboard is brilliant! Also, I loved the clip of the popping toast at the beginning.😆
Always interesting to see how different writers plan their stories. You are one of the first authors I have seen to mention Milanote; it seems most use Notion or Scrivener
Thank you, this was such a cosy after work treat. I enjoyed the text placement edits - they were fun. The editing and arrangements are always exceptional. I'm pleased you're taking the foot off the gas a bit this year, I don't know how you do as much as you do ✨
That is brilliantly done. Simplicity is the key. I am writing a documentary, (in a book styled fashion), nice to see someone sharing the similar struggles :) thank you for sharing your journey
a few months late but for your changeling story I thought of the ttrpg Changeling the Dreaming! Definitely fits the vibes of riding the line between the mundane and the fantastical
I said exactly the same thing when i discovered the changes on Microsoft! WTH is Aptos, this isn't my default font. Hearing you say the same thing is hilarious 🤣
Thank you Christy for your vlogs. They are such a light in my life currently because I can resonate with a lot of the thoughts you bring to the table, especially when it comes to getting out of your own house. Also watching your writing evolve is really motivating. Thank you!
I love your content Christy 🤍 it's so cozy and like a warm hug. i would absolutely love more project teacup vlogs and vlogs of your new novel.. they are really inspiring
It's awesome that you're enjoying FFXIV! I loved the story so so much that I started it a second time last year! :) And it's great you're working on a good work/life balance, it's so easy to get carried away with goals and forget other things in life that bring joy! :D
Your videos inspired me to start writing and I received my first publication offer last week 😊🎉 I’m currently working on a short story whilst I wait to receive the editorial notes from the publisher.
I am working on my debut novel, and have struggled to find a system thats clean, easy to use and aesthetically pleasing. I’ll definitely give milanote a try! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the new video! I really love your day-in-the-life vlogs. They are so cozy & motivate me to get my work done. Went to get a cup of coffee before watching this. Haha I agree with the Microsoft word font changes! I was like 😨
I’ve just started to write in a journal (I’m going to Disneyland Paris hopefully sometime this year.) So any tips about journal writing? Great video! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Love your vlogs so much, they always help me with my writing and help me to put my frown upside down.
Christie, I recently had the same word headaches and I am so pleased others found it infuriating! Silly comment but important - if it aint broke don't fix it!! calibri and blue theme!!!
Hi Christy, it was lovely joining you in your work through this video! When you're visiting Europe, are you planning on doing any meet-ups? I'd love to meet you! Your content has been the reason I'm really into reading, and even considering dipping my toes into writing. It would mean a lot to be able to thank you in person!
Ideas for trying some writer's routines-I have 3 suggestions: Ray Bradbury, Kate Forsyth (and a fellow fantasy novelist & Aussie), and the late great Tanith Lee , if there was one. She was a fav of mine, her fantasy and scifi so imaginative. She died in 2015 and her death was a great loss, as was Ray Bradbury's.
christy the timing is perfect! Im currently planning my first poper novel and I am STRUGGLING. like alll the things overwhelm me because you have to keep so much in mind 😅do you maybe have some advice for people doing it for the first time?
Hi:) Can I ask what LUTs or color grading are you using? Looks so beautiful! Thank you so much for creating such an inspiring contents, you always motivates me :)
I have been wondering how much ai pulls from on line forums like milinote and where we store work on cloud ect...to be able to generate entire novels even art in just a few seconds in some cases....how much is it taking from our work we put on line??
MS Word is classic . . . in much of the western and western-allied world. In China, they have their own stuff. Though, MS Word only allows syncing on all devices if you pay for the subscription plan. That sucks. I just use the regular stand-alone version. This girl seems to have made some kind of stir-fry, and eats the meal with chopsticks 🥢. Must be something she got from her Japanese travel days. She also wrote a memoir about her life in Japan 🇯🇵. If you look carefully, then you can see she’s in Australia 🇦🇺. That explains her accent 😉. She is or wants to be traditionally published, so that’s why she has that literary agent mentioned in one scene. Good job in securing one. I have heard it is very difficult these days.
wait - I honestly thought the different font on MS Word was a me problem, I thought I had broken my software somehow for the font to be the wrong one 😂 glad to see I'm not the one who feels lost that my documents aren't created in Calibri, even though I often change the font from Calibri haha
Hi Christy! New subscriber. Do you swap projects when finished with one step? Im waiting on my developmental editor for recommendations. I have new book ideas to develop. Im not yet decided on starting one yet.
Hi Christy and my fellow subwcribers! I'm participating in a reading challenge on Storygraph. One of the prompts is to read a fantasy, sci-fi, or magical realism book set in Australia. I'd love some recommendations. 🥰
