Oh man that's horrible. My child was just choking and i felt helpless. We got it out, but afterwards i realized i need to better educate myself so here i am.. Hope all is well God bless.

Should be illegal to not be prepared and informed as a parent..... Stop blaming others and do your due diligence before an event like this can occur.

If they are coughing they are NOT suffocating. If they are NOT coughing THEN there is a problem.

and that is exactly why you should be watching these videos every once in a while to brush up on the knowledge. cpr and choking methods should be learned by all parents.

Well at least he's still alive. A child just died recently from choking at school. And they didn't know how to get the food out. I think his parents would have hope for broken ribs than burying their 6 year old son.

Same! I watched another video on CPR & she said NOT to do the abdomen thrusts on children. I have a 3 year old (and 12 year old) & I’ve always had a fear of them choking. My husband’s CPR certified but I’m not, think I’m gonna take a class. Hope neither of us ever have to experience this but best to be prepared! Have a good one 😊❤

If this ever happens to your child (I hope it doesn't) remain calm, that's extremely important! Otherwise you won't be able to help her. I choked on a piece of steak when I was 7, it was so bad I couldn't even cough, I couldn't breath at all, I was going to lose consciousness very soon, and even though I was surrounded by pretty much all the adults of my family everyone panicked, especially my mom. However, my wonderful grandma remained calm and did the Heimlich maneuver on me; the piece of steak was huge (yeah, silly me took a big chunk of meat) and it was firmly lodged in my throat so it took my grandma almost a minute of doing the maneuver before I was able to expel it. She saved my life that night and it was only because she stayed calm and focused, the maneuver itself is not difficult, do it with all your strength; it hurts, but I prefer to have some bruises on my torso rather than choking to death.
