Phenomenal riding skills! I had a CR125 once, and that scared me at times. I can't imagine the all out 'balls to the wall' torque and power of a CR500, but your video helps! Cheers!
I was WAY more scared of the trees coming at your face at 30 mph than any bear.... bad video title!! But, GREAT riding! So, undecided as to whether I vote up or down.... damn you...
you have a lot of balls to be flying through basically hairscramble trails at 30 mph lol that's crazy I like speed but I don't like going fast around trees.. you put your face into a tree at thirty miles an hour your going to be messed up.. but cool video don't listen to all the other guys being pricks I think it was fun just watching you fly through the trails lol
so let me get this straight everyone thinks this guy should go full out??? its a trail not a moto track and really u cant even go full out on a track except to hit triple and straightaways really its just throttle control which this guy seems to have a very good skill set in based on the fact hes riding a 500 in a tight trail
That was brief, but cool. At least it wasn't right in your path. I almost hit a deer while riding a CR125M on a trail many years ago. The darned thing was running through the woods perpendicular to the trail and I was tapped into 4th gear if I remember right. It crossed right in front of me, and I missed it by about 10 or 12 feet. I slowed down after that! Nice riding, and watch out for those trees too! Catching air on a corner, you'll fly straight while the trail curves away from you. Voice of experience here, lol.
Nice bike! I have the same year Honda, only a 1995 CR250R. Parked my 4-strokes, gonna race the 2-stroke from now on. Husky TC250 coming my way in two weeks!
LOL! I have come around corners on my mountain bike and come within 10 feet of black bears looking right at me----not for long!! I cannot believe how fast those big bears can run and jump when taken by surprise. Fortunately I was always going downhill and spooked the beejezusm out of them---as well as me. No time to think---just keep going--the bears are of the same mind, too!
Ever since I first seen it my dream bike has been the ATK Intimidator. a 700cc 2-stroke with over 75HP stock that only available through special order. There is a motocross version and a super motard version The last time I checked (2-3 years ago) they were in limited supply and available only by special order through them. They were priced over $9000. I don't think I'll be riding one any time soon so its back to dreaming
Props on your riding skills. bought an XR500R from a friend that turned and bought a CR500R, all I can say is OMG!!! the XR is e ought for anyone, the CR500R is about as close as you can get to strapping onto a pissed of Bull, hands go numb after 5 mins!!
Sick trails riding man! I have yet to hit the trails, I have some decent trails downhill from my house. Only problem is ppl decided to block entrance with small to medium brances. Ppl like that disgust me, my friend though is getting his fix soon and when he does I'll go with him... since he's been down there after the blocked passage, and heck I hate trail riding alone. :p
Today this was me on Red Mountain speeding off the summit on an old forest byway. A big brown sow came at me down through the trees. And then after a short road chase was running downhill. Toward where the next turn of road would take me. As unwilling to accept an ambush by a smart mama bear I braked and reversed direction. Taking a longer ride off the summit. A crappy horse trail down to the state highway.
Great riding, ive been riding big bore 2strokes on trails for yrs and its awesome, n very challenging. Its obviously the Noobs who r writing the comments NOT THIS RIDER. U have no idea how hard it is 2 ride a 500 2stroke on tight trails, this guy has very good skills. If ur one of the dumb asses saying otherwise u either don't ride at all, are a noobie, or maybe ride a little girlie/wifey 4stroke bike, so stay on your 4strokes n quads n leave the real performance machines for the big boys...

It isn't about going fast , it's about having fun andhow you feel like riding.. If you like to ride slow and enjoy views it's fine , so is riding fast. I don't get why people always comment on others riding style..
Those 500s are the meanest bike ever made in my opinion. You have to big balls to ride on on single trail like that no wonder the bear took off so fast!!
+Roy Nelson Bear probably knew he was coming from the sound of his bike, bears usually attack out of surprise, as long as you make enough noise to let them know you are coming, black bears usually avoid you.
I hear that was pretty awesome man I seen a video where a guy was trail riding on a bicycle and it was pretty crazy glad he made it through bears are crazy lol

Had my first bear encounter while riding today but my gopro died about 15 minutes before:( Was a rather large brown cub. Saw me and ran away when i was about 30 feet away. Boogied out before mama bear and i could meet, im glad i didn't see her!
that thing is a beast!!!! you handle it very nicely. so much power on demand its just Krazy!!! ya I seen the bear, funny stuff. I once almost drove into a moose crossing the trail, one more second slower and we would have met. awesome bike, awesome rider. ride on.
you can definitely tell thats a cr500 baby....he's just barely touching the throttle this whole ride in 3rd hehe what an animal. not a bike for the faint of heart you used to see adds for them all the time for sale because they were to much for the rider. a truely terrifying beat. and this guy handles it pretty well!
smooth, fast trail. i like it. not too narrow either, looks like good drainage. whats the grip level typically. is this public land? what more can you ask for in a trail, you can ride all day without getting tired
the bear was waitin on another rider to hit a tree...people hating cause they have unfulfilled expectations in others...I enjoyed watching the trees go by...had to sit back from my monitor though. damn near got branch lash!! great vid
