Just got done watching your video. I love watching your videos, thank you for being yourself and i love that your hubby brings you his smoothies. I saw the box you have your lace and things done up and so neat. I'll now have to get out all my lace and small pieces of fabric and do the same thing. Keep that smile on your face and enjoy your day.
Thank you so much Gayle. That’s so awesome and fantastic. I really love 💕 everything you do, you’re so talented and clever and a very nice lady...... I really love 💕 the comment below this. And I really love 💕 the way you’re putting your husband and yourself before videoing, good for you!!!!!!! Enjoy all the time you have together it’s so important xx Mags
Hi Gail Pat here from Southern California, I'm really late in the game watching junk journaling and TN. I had shoulder surgery on my right arm the first of June of 2018. I've been watching you tubes just like all day long for several weeks and I still have 4 more weeks in this slang so I was admiring you working like you were with your sling on. I really don't have a worktop my whole table is covered with stuff I live in a mobile home so Space is really tight. Yes I would also like to see if you could refer me to another video so I can see how you would tear out the pages and what it is you're talking about, thanks so much keep on making your videos it is sooo interesting.
Hi Pat! Check out the video, Tutorial-Altered Book. Journal Preparation to see how to tear out the pages. Sending healing vibes for your shoulder! I’m two months out from my surgery and feeling great! I’m so glad I did it! Hope you’ll have the same results! ❤️
So…. August 20, 2022. More entertainment looking back. So want to get back to my altered book So……jealous of lace box so organized So coveting the ephemera box Tyft. Inspiring
This is lovely..I wonder, when you “altered” the pages, did you use the, “glue two, rip out six” method??? I want to try one of these and this seems to be the way most people do it...❤️❤️❤️
Carolyn baker I'm not positive how many pages, probably 25 to 30. The book is off to its new owner, so I can't count them. I have a tutorial on how to prepare an altered book to make a journal, if you'd like to check it out, but short answer is, yes there are pages torn out. ❤️
Gayle Agostinelli thank you for your information. I found the video on dismantling a hard over book, very helpful. I let myself get overwhelmed because I am a beginner and want to do everything.
I love your book. I started one a long time ago like this. You have inspired me to finish. I started because I was afraid to sew in signatures. I enjoy your videos. I would rather people not watch than say something negative. I'm sure it's not easy to talk continuously without someone talking to you. You do a fine job.
I also wanted to ask you about using distress inks to edge with. I am concerned if the books get wet at all will the color more than likely run? Have you ever used Yes paste and The Best Glue Ever? If so what do you think of them? Just a quick note... I tried using Gorilla Wood Glue and it works beautifully!
So, I'm new to the junk journal community and just heard your comment about someone criticising your use of the word "so". It's not just you and it's not just Montana. I hear it a lot in tutorial videos of all sorts. I think you are lovely and I thoroughly enjoy watching you craft. So just ignore the haters 😊
Hi Gayle ... I absolutely LOOOOOVE EVEYTHING you make .... I have started a collection of books and papers etc. can't wait to start my very FIRST book ... Thank You for sharing !!!!!!
this is "SO" great ,I enjoy your videos ,and how you talk is "SO"wonderful,i also enjoy your other word "YA".you have really great tutorials .,that I sit down and watch.Thank you so much..that pollen is nasty i have a allergy to pine pollen.P.S.I am across the boarder from you 3 hours north.(Alberta Canada)keep up the awesome tutorials.
Howdy neighbor! Haha! I always see RVs from Alberta on our north and south highway. They are always going south. 😊. If that's ever you, you better let me know, so we can have a crafty afternoon together! ❤️
I love your altered book Ms.Gayle. As I was watching you , I was gluing my pages together. My first one. I had to glue 3 pages together on one of the pages. Opppsy. oh well I will just add that error to my pile of errors in crafting. I'm not done yet, you need to do an hour plus. Hehe. Just a thought. Anyway have a marvelous Monday! Hugs! ~Liz~
Hi do you have an email I can contact you on regarding custom orders for journals...or are you on messenger at all...I'm a new subbie from australia I really like your channel....tfs Irene xx
Hi Irene! Welcome to my channel! I'm glad you're here! I'm on FB Messenger as Gayle Greenfield-Agostinelli. My email is Gayle.agostinelli@gmail.com Thanks so much for your interest! ❤️
oh my gosh , i wish you could hear this child, she is cracking me up... she just commented again about how smart you are to use the pink flowers! TOO CUTE! I thought i was your biggest fan, but now Im thinking it is Miss Maddie! LOL!!! We love ya Gayle!
Aaww, Rita, this makes my heart feel so good!! Just love time with my grand babies and I love thinking of you two watching this together! Next time you see Maddie, please give her a big hug from Miss Gayle!! Hugs, my friend! 😘❤️
I’m so glad you did this altered book video! I haven’t did an altered book in quite some time and was just deciding today what my next journal was going to be.... now I know!! 😁. And, about the “so” complainer... people can be ‘so’ petty... I love your videos and tutorials. You are interesting, funny and have provided so much inspiration. Thanks for sharing your ideas and talent. Btw.... I have one of those same ‘never ending glue bottles’ 😂
Hi Gayle ...this is a great tutorial never actually altered a book, have to give this a go as I am not confident enough with signature...thanks for the inspiration 👍❤️
This video popped up and I'm noticing that your fabri-tac like your art glitter glue last a good long time (you referred to your two almost empty bottles as never-ending).
Just subscribed to your channel this afternoon after watching this video and a previous one about making embossed tags. I am working on two of the tags right now and am excited to see how they turn out! Thanks so much for your great ideas and for passing along such helpful hints!
I love to make those altered books. It's coming along nicely! Great job organizing the lace. Im in the process of reorganizing my craft room in preparation for launching my RU-vid channel and reopening my Etsy store. It is in real need of a good organizing😣
It so funny about saying “so”. I have an almost 3 yr old grandson and while I was there helping take care of the 3 older kids while my daughter was giving birth to our 7th grand child the week before Christmas, I got so tickled listening to him talk, he’d start a sentence, “So, Guess what”, or “so, I want...”. Or I’d ask him a question and he’d say “umm, no!!” He picks up his sister’s vernacular and it’s hilarious to hear it coming from such a young kiddo. Gotta love them babies!
Regarding words that are repeated as part of daily living: are what make an individual enduring to me, let's me know it isn't scripted, or edited or in any way changed, makes it authentic, real, honest and truly unique. I love your sense of humor and I love that I never tire of your videos and watch them more than a few times each to learn from you. We love you, just as is, the real Gayle. To the rude person that asked if you could use a word other than 'So'. Would you ask that if you were face-to-face or are you just rude when you hide on the Internet slinging insults? I know this is over two years ago but I still had to give my opinion in favor of you. I am a good defender and cheerleader, lol
I’m watching all sorts of your videos, not taking any notice of dates, your work is very pretty, and stunning, I love how you balance your ephemera and embellishments, first class. Thank you xx😁❤️🇬🇧
Gayle, I love the altered book. I've only made one and that was a Wizard of Oz book for my eldest daughter,Donna's 42nd birthday. Such a lot of fun making it. Kept the 24 blk & wht images that were in it as they were gorgeous. So glad that you're able to use your shoulder more.
And why should you change? I love the 'so' to that 'uhm' any day. Love this idea with a re-purposing of a book as well. I have LOTS of books here that I was using for sculptures, but they are not the right number of pages, they would be ideal for this.
Celebrate your Montana speech... We are all so very very unique and we are should celebrate that rather than complaining !! I totally love your videos... You are good company... And often I craft along with you and try something new with you.
I’ve started my first journal and I have to say I’m enjoying it. My handwriting is not great and I don’t want to un-beautify my pages with my writing. I considered typing up my thoughts but the idea of industrial looking pages doesn’t thrill me either. Hmmmm? It’s a quandary.
You say "so" anytime you wish and don't let negative people take your joy! We love you and the way you talk! You have taught me so much I can't thank you enough and the reason I watch is you are a great person , teacher and all around crafter. Whoever said that is living a miserable life so, don't worry about it! Hi , hugs and love ya!
Hi Gayle💜..I binge watch you everyday while creating, or need inspiration ☺️... must admit I just love listening to you and watching your unending creative streaks🙂...you are so talented and your spirit is so peaceful . This journal is just gorgeous!, p.s you can say “so” as many times as you like, fine by me 😉
Love the book page banners. Those would look good on tags too !! The pink and black papers are awesome. Another color that looks good with pink is emerald green. I love that combo too It irritates me when people say negative things to you crafters. If they don't like what you say or do then they just need to watch someone else. Don't let them get to you. I say delete their comments and just go on being you !!!!!!
"Heaven forbid we throw away trash." You have got that right, Gayle! I'm always concerned with "substance," the perfectly good papers, cardboard boxes of all kinds, glass and plastic containers etc that we so casually discard. I've enjoyed a couple hours of your videos this evening as I sit and cut and paste and make a big mess. There is something in the artist/crafter/maker, whatever you call us, that just has to do this stuff. I love it. Thank you for making these great videos. I hope your shoulder has mended nicely by now.
I like the notion that you can finish off ephemera with the rub ons. Yes, some definitely work better than others. The Dollar Tree ones are hit or miss. I’ve gotten older ones from thrifting, and again, hit or miss.
I have the same printouts this is a perfect Idea, I also have a few books ready to be made over. ( How Rude making a complaint about a word you say often, I wonder what word subbie say's all the time we all Have one ) I once printed on coffee paper Hubby almost went through the roof lol Print first coffee dye later. I love how it is turning out.
You Always amaze me, Gayle.......I could NEVER tell you all the Inspiration you have shared with me and how much, I enjoy your humor and talents!!!! (it saddens me to hear that someone would have the Audacity to complain or even speak unkindly about your saying ........................."SO") heheheheeh...........So let me again say. "SO your Glue Book is going to be SOOOO 🤣Sweet! SO carry on!!! heheehe
UPDATE: Well after lots of detective work I did find Tsunamirose Etsy!!! Gorgeous things!!!! WOW!!! Is that little 8x8 paper pad also from her also? When you quickly flipped through it I loved what I saw!! I could see it said Romance Novel, (or at least I think it did) but googling that name got me no where!! S0, you may not see this since it was over a year go, but, I keep hearing you say the name of the kit...something like sunami rose???? But, I can't tell for sure. So, (he he) If you happen to see this, would you mind telling me the name of the kit and who makes it, although I am more than certain I won't be able to find it by now....I'm still gonna try!!! SO., thank you very much sweet GayIe!I dearly LOVE you altered book!! And, SO, I have one more thing to say....you are the best You-Tuber crafter ever and one of the many reasons is how you present yourself and listening to you is a a great pleasure!! I'm shocked that anyone would mention such a thing as using too many SO's....I HAVE NEVER ever noticed you say that to much ever, and SO you don't. Please do not give her comment one more thought, she's just SO wrong, and I could say some things un-lady like about this person, but I will not. SO, anyway, I am SO sorry anyone said that to the sweetest person on RU-vid that I watch, and I watch a LOT!!! Hugs to you
Thank you, Nancy, for all you kind words!! The Tsunami Rose kit was called Polished Lackluster. The 6 x 6 paper pad was by Prima. You’re right, Romance Novel. I loved that pad. Don’t know if it’s still available. Thank you so much, Nancy, for being such a loyal viewer and all the comments you leave. I love hearing from you! ❤️
You are amazing, love this book. You explain everything so that I can understand. I do not have a computer and printer. Do you sell papers that are already printed? Thank you for this video. Your way of measuring is delightful and it works for you, I always get a smile on my face when you do it.
Hi June! Thanks for your nice comment! I don't sell any papers. But decorative scrapbook papers will do everything I did in this video. I use them a lot! Thanks for watching! ❤️
First, Love that you are back making videos! So glad you are doing so well :) Now, Are you kidding me?! Someone actually called you out on what you say? I'm sorry but that is just wrong! She can leave the video if she doesn't like what she hears. Oh my!
Haha, Erin!!! All my subbies are going to be completely three sheets to the wind!! A drink for every SO, oh my gosh!!! Maybe I should talk e a drink every time I say it....could make for some entertaining videos! Haha!! 😂😂😂❤️
Love those banners! So darling. I notice some glue you keep upside down and some you don’t in your room tour. Should liquid glue be kept that way? Thanks
Keeping glue upside down does make it easier to get out. I’m going to do a video soon on glues and papers as a subbie requested some explanation. Hopefully, that will be helpful to you too! ❤️
Gayle, I noticed You don't put Your banners right up to the top of the page. I have banner dies but haven't used them yet. Is it best to place them slightly below the page edge, like You've done here, rather than right up to the edge?
Oh, I wondered because I don' have much luck with doily side tucks or banner tucks for some reason. It makes sense putting them lower down instead of right on the edge. Putting them on the edge could cause weakening over time. Think I'll try it this way next time.
Hello, I was wondering if you had a video on how to cut some pages out to de-bulk the book or do you just keep stuffing stuff in, I am not sure how that works. Thank-you for sharing I learn so much from you even when it isn't in the style that I choose to do, there is always something to learn, for me it is all about techniques not copying. Have a very lovely day!!!
BloodLace Rose I think in this type of altered book, if you know you're going to have a lot of ephemera then you should remove more pages when preparing the book. I do have a video on preparing an altered book. The owner may want to take out some of the ephemera before using this book! 😄. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching! ❤️
Awesome thank-you so very much. I am the owner so I won't be putting anything in there I don't want hehehehe. I will look for and watch that video. Again thank-you. Have a great day!!
I don't know if you answer questions on old videos, but I will chance it. How many pages do you think are in this finished book? Mine ended up having a 7 or 8 inch gator mouth. I love your flat pages and not so fat book.
Thank you, Michelle! I’m very blessed that my journals sell moments after they are listed. I’ve been randomly listing journals this week and did a video yesterday announcing Sat, Feb. 1 at 3:30 pm a journal will be listed. I usually do a video to let folks know when a journal will be in the shop. If you favorite my shop and turn on notifications, you will be notified when a journal is listed. Thanks so much for your interest! ❤️
Hi Gayle, I am still new to your videos , but am enjoying watching your videos while you create. Beautiful altered journal. Had to laugh when you needed to *hop up* to retrieve stuff, I do that a lot! ~Jeanne
This is so pretty !!! Have you got a tutorial on tearing out the oages? I've seen craftyirina as well... Has she taken a break from utube, just hadn't seen her lately ???
