Yes, Julie! I love lobster and crab...but never want to go through that again!! Lol! I feel lucky it wasn't worse and that really lobster and crab are pretty easy to avoid. I need to convince my husband that the money we save on seafood should go to my crafts! Haha!!
I am hoping I can find the videos to your Green and Blue papers :) as well as the patterned coffee dyed papers - they are brilliant. I have found an illustrated dictionary like you use, now to get the music or similar to that :) I am enjoying the journey with you - thank you
Gayle! For your Tootles book, go back to the pixie dictionary and look up the word goodbye - it's in there! That would be perfect for the train theme, dont you think?
You will need to be careful and let x-ray know if you have to have injectable dye ; that you are allergic but I'm sure they will ask if you have an allergy to shellfish or anything else ? Love your instructions !
I love watching how you pick papers! I now can see how I could put together multiple journals at one time! I wondered how that was possible! I'm thinking that not all of the scrapbook paper was card stock weight. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with them! Thank you so much for sharing! I am learning so much!

This video was awesome and I'll be happy with however much else of the process we can see. I made my first piece of ephemera today including attaching a dangle. It's not as easy as you and others make it look! But I knew to cover my 'oops' with some lace. Now I'm going to check out your video for making the spine. This is really fun. Really nice Gayle! I LOVE the McCall's Giant Book of Crafts!!! I just looked on Amazon and it is really expensive. I really want to make Golden Book junk journals, and I have a huge stack of the books, but I always seem to have something else to do first! You are doing great with these! It sucks being sick...I suffer from horrible disabilities in my lower spine n legs...pain actually makes me sick some days to the point of throwing up. I love your choices for your pages...and I have that "make it book"...it is a awesome one indeed!
Ohhh No Gayle. Shell fish allergies can be very dangerous. Heavens, you've sure been through it. Gonna love all your Golden Books. They are already so cute. I have never seen any of the last three books you showed.
Oh, so happy you're over your allergic reaction! My sister has always loved lobster and whenever she went to visit her friend in Boston, the lobstah dinnah was a highlight, until she, like you, developed that same allergy. She was so ill, they were worried about she got home. No more seafood for her! Watching your process for choosing papers was fascinating. I'm much haphazard! :)

TinkerDee59 I'm so sorry! I do know when I'm thinking, I don't talk very loud. But I have my volume on my iPad at less than half and can hear okay, so I'm not sure what to tell you to help. ❤️
I may have to just use head phones, I can hear most all the other RU-vidrs I follow really well @50%, but you know it could just be a glitch, some are louder than others. I would gladly wear ear phones just to listen to your videos ... I mean that in a very GOOD way :)

I see it’s been 3 years since this video was uploaded but I’m still Curious if you’ve had any more issues with eating any other seafood or shellfish. My mom developed a allergy to strawberries at the age of 60, she had been eating them every summer her entire life. She swelled up everywhere and her skin turned bright red like she had gotten the worst ever sunburn, she peeled for weeks. We were very lucky that we didn’t lose her from that bowl of strawberries! Please be careful with seafood of any kind, those reactions come out of nowhere and can be life threatening. I still find it fascinating that our bodies can just react to something out of nowhere even though we’ve eaten it for years.
I'm glad you're feeling better! What size papers are you using? I'm working on my 1st LGB and the papers are too small. It looks like your coffee dyed is legal sized but what about the printed paper from the pads? Thanks!
Donna, my coffee dyed paper is 8 1/2 x 11. All the book pages are different size and the decorative paper is 12 x 12. It will all need to be cut to size. I can't remember the exact size (haven't done any cutting yet), but I seem to recall something like 7 1/2 tall and 10 or 11wide (for 5 to 5 1/2 inch pages). Something like that. Different size will create interest. Hope that helps a little. ❤️

some of those papers with stripes would look nice too; would add variety. Fun to watch the process. I noticed in the dictionary book there was a Nurse (would that work for Dr. Dan book?)
Are you sure it wasn't a stomach bug. The reason is, my grandson was sick the last couple of days with a headache, stomach cutting him, diarrhea and throwing up and we thought it was from a bad protein drink. Now his sister is complaining of a headache and her stomach cutting her. My father in law became allergic to shellfish one day when eating shrimp and his throat started closing up. That was it. Glad you are feeling better.
Jodi, thanks for the thoughts! So sweet of you. At one point, I thought it might be a bug. But the sharp pains started right after dinner and the rash was a pretty sure sign. I'm just glad it wasn't a worse reaction like the throat closing! Eek! ❤️
How wide did you make your spine on these books I got a golden book I wanna make with 2 signatures but I don't know how wide to make the spine this is my first journal.
