What a FABU idea! I have a few boxes of blank invitation envelopes that are the perfect size for this project. I'll give it go. Thank you Gayle for all your creative ideas you share with us. Yolie
I crafted along with you, on faux front envelope......you did it slow enough for me to follow,,,yaaay for me,will make more of them.....yup once one gets started there’s no end.......to ones imagination.....which you are one of the crafters with wonderful ideas..Thank you....
I was having a creative block trying to do pretty and loaded tags. Feeling a bit distraught, I decided to watch Auto Play of videos, beginning with the first tutorial you did connecting envelopes and decoupaging! WOW! I took a break from my studio, came back and resumed Auto Play! Wella! A second Tutorial - Faux Front Envelopes! If you only knew how many envelopes I have been holding onto and collecting you'd have to wonder why I was stuck on making TAGs that was become a chore to make into reality!!! Next time, I think. I will finish the one tag I started this morning. Thanks to your inspiration, I will very soon be making the Faux Front Envelopes. I had all the same supplies already on my work desk. Just had to change my focus!!! I am so happy, happy, happy! Thank you, Gayle. Love the videos. And when you mention your retreats I wish I knew enough folks in my area to join in on that idea, too.
Love all what you do !!! You inspire me to make things !!! Love to watch all your videos!!! You explain everything so it is easy to follow along!!! Thank you for all your beautiful work!!!
These are great. Nice size envelope for a card, or a gift card or to stash some stamps. I've been making something similar for my car. I called them 'car wallets'. I keep stamps, a few little note pads, return address labels and even put some safety pins and needle and thread in one of the pockets! I'm always needing something like that in my car as I run around doing errands. I like the size of yours and boy, do I have a big stash of envelopes to use! Thanks so much for sharing!
Oh Gayle, These were started years ago in the Happy Mail & Snail Mail Pen Pal community because I started out watching those videos while I was recovering from my mastectomy, emergency surgery, then osteoporosis so bad I could barely walk before the junk journal videos started coming out, which they called these Envelope Flip Books & the many different awesome & beautifully created ones they did, some like the ones you've done in this video, some even more creatively done & some just very simple, were then filled in the envelope pockets, little cellophane bags, etc. with ephemera, other goodies & a note to the lucky recipient, then mailed off. Also, I am in no way trying to be mean, nasty or upset you, I'm just being honest by letting you know that these are not new, that they were done years ago & sent out as Happy Mail. Take care & stay safe, Lily
This tutorial Gayle is very helpful especially at this time of year. Very cool idea. Can’t wait to start my own soon. Also you are a wonderful teacher to learn from.
This is the best idea I've seen in hundreds of videos!!! Thank you for taking the time to make the video before you even bothered to unpack. I'm so stoked to try this--both the closure and the faux front part!
These are very cute, they are easier so maybe even I could make one. Thank you for this idea and video. I am trying to look at all you videos I am learning so much. Thank you again. 💜
Love this idea so I had to try it right away. It’s 4:30 in the morning and I wasn’t quite as awake as I thought I was. Twice it marked the paper and cut it wrong. However I love the finished product. Thank you so much.
Just recently discovered your video's. Love, love, love your creativity and sharing your beautiful talent. I am new to the Junk Journal world and your video's are very inspiring. Thank you for sharing. 😊🥰
Just completed my first faux front envelope, using one piece of card stock and a ratty old envelope, just to get a grasp of the technique. I am stoked with how it turned out. I even used the scraps to reinforce the back, which turned out as nice as the front. Not as marvellous as yours, Gayle, but it's a start. Thankyou for sharing, I loved putting this together.
Love this idea Gayle!!!! I'm going to make some right now for the kids teachers, and use it as a gift for Christmas... The kids will love to help, thank you bunches!! 😘
I love these! I just saw your more recent one and you pointed us back to this. So fun. I think I need to create some happy mail for the elderly folks at church who have been encouraged not to come to services during the covid-19 scare. Some of them already live a somewhat isolated life and now they are even more isolated. These actually go pretty quick so maybe I could get a few done and start sending them out. It might brighten their day a little. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Gayle. Just wanted to tell you I made one of these faux front envelopes this week and had so much fun with it. I plan to make a few more. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
I love your enthusiasm in this video!! I am thinking with all the possibilities with these, some of them may end up being endless faux fronts. hehe....
I had seen your cookbook journal making video where you mentioned the faux front envelope so had to look up your tutorial on it. What an awesome idea! I will be incorporating these in my journals.
I love this so much! What a fantastic way to help my mom showcase all the neat stuff she got on her Ireland trip. I just wish I could send them thru the mail too!
I love this sunflower digi kit? The new envelope flavor (faux front) is cool! Thank you for sharing your inspiration for this. I want to see how it "goes" into the journal.
