I would think a vehicle, if all parts are scavenged, would be acceptable. If anything, it would allow you to experience more of the map which would up the entertainment value of the video for us. I would also think it to be unfair considering the potentially vast amounts of scrap you're going to need.
We can delve deeper into that topic in future discussions. While a bicycle would be a pleasant option, considering you cannot find engines, getting a vehicle chassis with just an engine might be a possibility. It all hinges on the direction this series takes in the long run.
@palfy205 Well, by all parts scavenged, I meant all missing parts, not just a bare chassis, although that could be interesting. Get a vehicle down to just the bare bone chassis and engine, and then you have to find every piece needed. From a narrative perspective, you could "find" it in a car workshop as if it were being worked on, and then you need to build it yourself.
I agree with you about the toolboxes, only crafted ones. As for the grinding stone, I’m divided on that. There is no crafted substitute. The only option would be to remake a replacement for the edged weapon. I’m also divided on you collecting nail & bolts. You CAN craft them so no real need to collect them.
Well currently tool boxes at work benches to repair sharp objects are glitched. I've tried this multiple times in the last couple of days and I was unable to repair my items. It would do the animation and the bar would show up that I was repairing my sharp tools with them but it did not do any repairing. So until that's fixed I will simply use grinding stones.
@@palfy205 It doesnt need a toolkit to repair sharp objects at a workbench, it uses the workbench's durability. I have been repairing my katana and saw with no issues all day today
Nice video, brother 👍 You should be able to eat any food you find that are vegetables or fruit or seeds that sort of thing. But not canned goods, MREs and any packaged food.
Perhaps a couple goals should also be to complete one time successfully of every type of content using only the crafted gear and items. such as abandoned bunkers. Regular bunkers a killbox.
@palfy205 In my opinion, I think it would be o k to collect and use the screwdrivers along with bobby pins. If you would like to see the type of potential loot you could have gotten. I don't think you have to use the items you loot from lockers, but rather good content nonetheless
Love this idea. I was originally thinking about doing something similar after the .95 wipe but decided to hold off and see what the horde system was like first. I'd agree with most of the comments already regarding being able to eat any foraged foods, and the vehicle idea as long as all parts are found for it. As for clothes, I think maybe limit that to clothing items without storage used only for warmth when needed. The animal skin clothes are fairly warm and carry a good amount. And with adding the raincoat/mask/crafted armor/etc you should be pretty good on keeping warm without extra clothes at all in most of the map. Just my opinion though. Looking forward to the next one.
I share the same opinion. The crafted clothing should suffice, and if any of it wears out, we can always discuss establishing new rules for looting clothing. I'm confident we'll handle it just fine.
No problems at all with you using grinding stones to sharpen, as long as the bug at the lathe exists. With vehicles, as long as you find the parts it needs and don't buy them then even a car would be ok. Screwdrivers are ok for picking, but crafted picks only 😛
The bug was fixed, it wasn't very consistent bug, only happened once on single-player, all good now with the toolkits, interesting concept on the lockpicks, I thought since I was going to use screwdrivers that aren't crafted, using lockpicks would also be okay, but I suppose since I can craft lockpicks that would be a limiter, I don't think it'll have much of an impact on my lockpicking though. Thanks for your comment and feedback, always good to get an outside perspective.
I never saw how you got your skins to craft the backpack and such. I'm kinda new to the game and would really love to know how as a beginner. Are you using skins from zombies?
Hah, I like not spending 10x the amount of time finding the same loot :P, keep the suggestions coming though! We can put that one to a vote. Though, 0.1 is ridiculous, maybe 0.5
My crafting options for clothing are somewhat limited, mainly animal jackets, pants, bear helmets, and such. They're designed to keep us warm in the snowy areas, along with the help of torches and shelters. I believe we can handle it :) If things get too tough or my clothes wear out, we can always explore the possibility of finding gear through looting.
Scum should require all players to stop and make fires in the most rainy and cold weather, especially at night and in the snow, no matter what they are wearing. Since it is easy to make a fire anywhere with crafted items, I would say keep clothes to only those that are crafted and travel in better weather.
You said you tried to repair something using a tool box on a lathe but that it didn’t work. Are you sure about that? When using a tool box with a workbench only 5 points of damage is repaired (at the expense of 5 points off the tool box.) per application. To repair an item that is at 60% you need to repeat the process 8 times to repair it up to 100%. That’s how it worked for me when I did it.
@@palfy205 Hi, thanks for the response. Just last night I repaired a large axe from 5% to 50% using a white tool box on a drill-press. It worked fine. Maybe it depends on which toolbox is used and to what tool or perhaps which workbench. I’ll have to run some tests to see if there is any validity to my supposition. Time to experiment… Thanks 😊
Thanks for the comment, I know this is an option, but rebar cutters and drills would be something I'll have to gather over a few days, though the workbench situation with the toolbox is working now, so great to know it got patched quick!
That's why the puppet spawns are greatly increased to also increase the difficulty, this game is easy as it is on default settings regardless of how you play. Now with hordes greater numbers without guns will be challenging.
Server settings have crosshair on. It doesn't last long at low levels, but you can remember where it is pretty easy. Short-range archery isn't impacted by wind or much. It's pretty easy to master the 30# bow
So this is going to be difficult because if lots of the video is clipped and edited out, some people will claim that items were obtained unfairly. Now, what I can do is provide longer videos. But I prefer to keep my videos under 30 minutes. Most people's retention for watching videos can not exceed that in most situations. I'm open to providing unedited or uncut versions of the footage in case anybody's interested in watching it. As for now, I'm still trying to find a good way to provide the content while also showing that it's done authentically without cheating.
