I have a T210 that threw 3 belts on my 2nd mow 3 or 4 years ago. Obviously, all the belt guards were in place. The first 2 belts destroyed themselves, the 3rd was ok. I talked to the Lowes manager when i went to buy the 3rd new belt and he wouldn't warranty me a new tractor. He just gave me the number of a "certified" repair shop. I took the deck off and checked pulley alignment and everything was straight and level. I put it back together and put a weight on the seat so I could see the deck while it was running. The belt flops around like crazy. The problem is, there is no way to properly tension the belt. I learned to very gradually disengage the deck. If you do it slow and let the blades come to a stop with a tiny amount of tension on the belt, it will work. Just today, i was mowing and when I disengaged the deck, the handle slipped out of my hand and bam, off came the damned belt. I still have all 3 pully guards in place but tthey don't help. The only thing I can see that might help is to change the springs for stronger ones as they are the only thing tensioning the belt. It's the worst design I've ever seen and I wish Lowes had it and not me.

After many times loosing the belt I finally bought a belt that was 1/2 inch shorter.. that took most of the slack out without making it too tight and solved the issue. it is a very bad design

I have this model. My blade belt comes off too. I can tell you that my belt guards are missing. I took them off bc it's too much to take it all apart in the middle of a mow. If the belt pops I can just slip it back on and keep moving, The belt has been popping long before the guards came off. Design flaw somewhere.

The brake on the left side is backwards?? Brake should be against the pulley right? Bolt on back side? Is that correct?

Yes you are correct.. I don't remember if i pointed that out in this video or a different video I made when I installed it but yes the brake arm was backwards.. it swings around sometimes when things are loose.. the pad should be touching the pulley.. nice catch

That is why I love the kevlar style of of transmission and blade belts for riding mowers I've got to get 2 transmission belts and 2 blade belts for the poulan XT mower and the craftsman ys 4500 plus a set of blade spindle brakes And change the hydro oil on the craftsman gt tractor
