Before I even knew what an Ezekiel was I showed the arm position to my friend and was like "hey bro you think if you choke someone out like this they'd go out" and he was like "idk man". Little did we know this choke is deadly af.
Do you have success in hitting it from top of guard in nogi to? Any tips? I reliably get good guys with it from guard top with gi but difficult against experienced people with nogi
@@---tx9xx In this context, I use it to pass their guard, as I find that they have to unlock their legs or create space in order to defend/counterattack.
That's good. Something to try from either top or bottom (white belt, so usually on bottom 😆) that isn't a baseball bat choke. Gotta switch it up a little! Thanks for sharing.
I've been trying to hit the punch choke variation for around 6 months with zero success, possibly because I have long forearms. This variation is legit as fuck, everyone is getting a slice of the cake now.
It works, dirty and cheap, but works. I used this as a white belt and got a tap from a now black belt, he was a 4 stripe brown belt at the time. I also lost in my first tournament due to getting to mount and the guy pulled this off.
With this method is Craig applying it as a blood choke or a windpipe choke? I know either way you'll get the tap, just curious on where the pressure is applied. Thanks for the upload!
Blood would imply they it's a strangle, which it can be given that you have a sufficient angle to adequately plug their carotid artery. Though many put the fist in the neck, or on the trachea, which would then facilitate a 'choke' by restricting air rather than blood. I hope that answered your question brother, oss
@@MastersmokeABUSE No, I do this all the time to high level guys..and use the fist just likee Olexi. Well actually you use fingers and then roll into a fist and it's blocking corotids. Even if you miss and go to the throat as John Danaher would say if you are using. Enough pressure to block the throat, you are blocking the arteries also. 99 times out of 100. Also you can do the way Craig says not to but you need to look at your opponent.squashing there head with your jaw, and then pass your hand by your neck. But I look forward to try this method also.
I remember I was rolling with I think a purple belt (it's been 2 years) and said surprise me at the end (I'm a white belt) and he pulled this move with the gi and I stg I thought I lost my voice lol
I seem to get more success with the punch-choke variation (support arm grips choking arm's forearm area) when in top mount because it allows for better basing. When I try Craig's version from top mount I get rolled over a lot and give up top position. From bottom mount though, Craig's version seems to work better. Anyone else have the same experience?
How tall are you guys? I’m a short guy with very short thick limbs, so the majority of chokes are very hard for me to lock in. Just curious what your body types are like and if there’s any options best for short and stocky people.
I been using it too as a 4 stripe white belt and I’ve now tapped out several blue belts (making one go out for not tapping out and even a recently a brown and black belt 3:36
@@MastersmokeABUSE only because we're not used to hearing it. Ask someone outside BJJ and both Rear Naked Strangle and Front Naked Strangle are as ridiculous as each other and they'd ask if it's some kind of porn or S&M. It's all about familiarity.
