basically i bring two ropes when i gotta jump on and off the ball. 1 DdRT rope for jumping on and off the ball, 1 SRT rope for securing to the spar. Once i set rigging from the DdRT line i repel to where i"ll make the cut, secure the SRT line (and my lanyard), pull the DdRT line, make the cut, THEN i tend slack from the DdRT line while the piece is floating away. saves a minute or so each time.
