I recently had mine fitted by Stuart at VMax. It has been transformational to the drive and personality of the car. I wish I had done it sooner. And Stuart is excellent - you’re dealing with the guy who invented the kit and continues to develop it - which is an amazing opportunity and so rare these days.
@@chrisjames3030 Stuart has been very helpful to date, very easy guy to deal with, glad I have gone down this route. I’ll assume you used a Weber 45DCOE, are you still using the standard gearbox? The MX5 gearbox in my opinion transforms the driving of my MG and that’s so far without the supercharger. Thanks for the comment and the feedback, appreciated. Cheers Marty
Yes - we used the Webber. And I’m going for a test drive with Frontline to try out their Mazda based but super upgraded gear box. It’s going to have to be flipping amazing as I don’t want to spend the money. Famous last words.
Personally, I have been using the Ignition 123 distributor with great success, I've gone with the non-programable one I just didn't want to get into all that "stuff", simple person, simple needs, as long as it works I'm fine..
Hi Brad, not unlimited budget by any stretch, the supercharger was a bit of an extravagance I realise that, going with "you only live once", or at least thats the excuse I'm using on this occasion. I priced getting the gearbox overhauled / repaired if they or I could get the parts, on investigation a lot of the internal parts are made out of unobtanium, in the end it was getting pretty close to the price of the conversion, at least with the conversion I'm (sort of) guaranteed a good outcome. With the repair / overhaul there were no guarantees coming with that. Thanks I needed to have a bit of a chuckle, you did it
