Mel Winkler was just wonderful as Aku Aku. A shame that he passed on last year. Greg Eagles (Grim from Billy & Mandy) is doing Winkler proud since voicing him back in 2007.
The warp room scene with Uka Uka and Cortex is just the coolest thing in the PS1 version. The dark lighting and the glowing eyes really sell it that he is a terrifying monster. All you can see is the silhouette and the glowing eyes, which makes hims so scary, kinda like Gmork in the Neverending Story where you can mostly see teeth and eyes. In the remake he's brightly lit and jumping around in a cartoonish manner and not nearly as terrifying.
Yeah and N. Tropy just popping up out of nowhere instead of his menacing silhouette standing in the background and then him slowly walking up to Cortex and Uka-Uka revealing his true menacing self
A little retcon shouldn’t hurt anyone. Wrath of Cortex is one canon, It’s About Time is another. It’s sometimes fun to interpret where you want a particular story of a franchise to go.
@@SrMechaGojira93 That depends, this new time line overshadows Crunch Bandicoot and Nina Cortex story lines. I like the new game and I let it pass, but if they throw Twinsanity out, then it will be official.
Akuaku: get the crystals! No! You need to get the crystals before were all enslaved!! The world depends on you!! Akuaku: also time trials are fun just sayin
I feel like in this game Cortex wasn’t necessarily into dominating Crash but Uka Uka convinces him so I think Uka Uka has more say in wanting to destroy Crash than Cortex does.
@@fourteensouls This was meant for the storyline of how Dr Cortex, Uka-Uka (Yet abandoned him, lol) , & Dr N.Tropy escape their dimension prison, hence CB4: It’s about time.
The Wrath of cortex however didn't explain why and how they escape. But don't worry I haven't forgotten my childhood game, and the good news it's still Canon as the multiverse way.
@@fourteensouls The one when we face him as the final boss in the first game? Yes I remember he fall after defeat but continued seeing him fall at the start of Crash 2 intro. And how? Cartoon physics, since he hit the cave of crystals
I JUST found this out! The very first cutscene in The Huge Adventure (the one seen when you boot up the game) occurs in the same place as the one at 1:27!
7:35 you didn't exactly get them all (Stand back and he will say his defeat quote) My time is up, but yours soon will be too. - N Tropy 8:37 in fight Prepare to be pulverized bandicoot (enters stage 2) Explodes "ARGH, not again!" - N.gin
the talking head cutscenes are pretty much the only part of the whole game with no music. Really gives those segments a ton of gravity, makes Aku Aku's wisdom seem more sage, Uka Uka more scary, and the level bosses more intimidating. Just one of many great stylistic choices that make this game so special. Mad love to all the people who worked on it
I had big problems with realising N.Gin was male when I was a child. It's because of how cool and unusual his voice sounds. It's like two voices combined and also the metallic chime it has is just...ah. N-sane trilogy couldn't get it at all and he was just pathetic imo.
@@AstroTom weell, i do not know that becausr i di don't hear clancy Brown too much, but i looked a list of voices of Cortex and there Brendan O 'Brien is listed with Baby Cortex as well
That's because they are too detailed to work in a game level, the PS1 could only handle so many details in the screen at once. They are only used for cutscenes because the devs can control where the camera is, how many objects are rendered and stuff like that.
8:37-8:59 *Dr. Cortex:* It's funny how history repeats itself. Yet again, N. Gin has failed to defeat you. *Uka Uka:* Wha?! For this, we must destroy you! *Dr. Cortex:* Oh, my aching head! I'm not feeling myself these days. So the end is in sight. Gather another five Crystals, and again, you will have foiled my plan. Or will you?
I so Love this game! However I would chance a few things if I could to make it perfect: - Add a Death Route with the Red Gem in Bone Yard - Add a Red Gem Path in Gee Wiz with a Clear Gem. -Replace the Red Gem in Deep Trouble, with a clear gem. - Replace the Purple Gem Door from Tomb Time for a Death route instead. - Place the Purple Gem in a Death Route in Double Header. - Add a Purple Gem Path (instead of death route) in High Times instead, leading to a Clear gem. - Death Route in Gone Tomorrow (instead of gem path), leading us to the Green Gem. - Add a Green Gem Path in Toad Village (leading us to a Clear Gem). -The Death Route from Flaming Passion would have a Clear Gem in the end instead of a Greem Gem. -Would scrap Hot Coco away, give it ab extra Pura level instead.
I Just realized that this is Clancy brown's second game besides Crash 2 and recently played Detroit become human where he is also there as Hank. Funny how mr. Krabs goes from a Child friendly game to an adult game
The thing that always bothered me about this game is that if Cortex had a time machine, why didn't he just go back in time and stop himself from creating Crash? Then he would've conquered the world 3 times over.
7:29 N. Tropy's original voice has more emotion and work put into it compared to the N Sane Trilogy N. Tropy. I could say the same for every other cutscene.
That wasn't Naughty Dog's fault. Blame Universal Interactive. They refused to let Crash go peacefully. They then were bought by Vivendi, before all was bought by Activision.
@chaoscontroller316 yeah like Sony should've bought the rights to Crash Bandicoot but maybe Universal wasn't selling or giving a ridiculous price. I remember in an interview if Naughty Dog was allowed to make more Crash games after CTR it would be similar to Jak and Daxter 1.
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped (Video Game 1998) has much more people known do save the world were for time at Crash and his sister Coco moment your game we quest free come player will know say rather too year sound animation series. Childhood with main villain Uka Uka an evil a mask just soon Cortex before never got crystal and gems, 2 adventure stop something takes back me.
