When I was a kid, I did "crash tests" with cars made out of metal candy wrappers held with LEGO pieces. This guy is on another level.

The way it deforms is pretty convincing. I wonder if a similar technique has ever been used in special effects miniatures?

Its surprising how realistic it deforms

When i was a kid i always wished there was some sort of toy car that was made for crashing but can also be restored to its original form. Idk why i love seeing cars deforming and breaking. Now we have games that allow us to do as many crashes as we want

When I was younger I entered a toy designing competition. I designed something similar, it was a RC car with a body made out of a shell of thin tin / aluminum, (Think metal take away container), the shell would be the shape of the car and underneath would be a smaller frame that would house the motors and battery ect, the idea being you could crash the car and it would deform realistically and the frame under could expand back to the original size and shape to reset the damage using servos and linear motors to push the shape back out. Also there would be swappable shells. I ended up winning 3rd place (First and they would have put it into production) and was invited to The Houses Of Parliament in London for the awards ceremony, but I never went..

I used to "crash" cars, then scrape and literally break them so they actually look damaged.

that is so cool! I didn't know clay could be used for this purpose other than making pots and cups

bro next time try to not put the solid wall behind and leave more space for it to stop, the vehicle is getting instantly destroyed by the wall and not by the collision itself. amazing details on the van, good job ❤

I felt that GRA IV had way better vehicle damage then GTA V. It’s rumored that GRA VI will have close to realistic damage in the game.
