For a little context; this rider has had a multitude of bikes and had not crashed on the street for longer than I've been riding. Temperatures in the area had been dropping, so it took longer than usual for the tires to build heat. You can see how the front tire let go very gradually, it can happen to the best of us.
🤣Been there done that, spent 10yrs road biking after my BMX years before moving on to mountain biking and now in my late 50's moved on to cross country hard tails to keep the dumb 20yr old hiding in me from wrapping himself around trees. I have a left should at about 20% what it should be to remind me🤪.
Loving your videos. Wish we had roads like that here in the UK! I have a GSXR1000 for Sunday morning blasts and bought an S1000XR recently for longer rides but I now alternate between the local two because the XR is so much fun. The XR gives less feedback and is a totally different ride but man that noise and kick after 6k revs :)))
Glad he wasn't injured! I think it was the wings that saved the bike :). Actually, it would be great to learn what (if any) frame sliders he has on the bike
Well, this vid shows more than many best scene scenarios, cold tires can eat a day's fun, this guy proved winglets arent the stuff, state of mind is, he did wonderfull after being harassed out of nowhere (cold tires do that). Big high five for not accepting although most understandable being more prudent.
Когда я увидел человека отъезжающего с парковки, с ногами не на подножках, я сразу понял что именно он разобьется. Первый признак новичка. Тем удивительнее видеть комментарий, что он опытный
How you've been mate? Can. I share this video for an edit of mine? I'll credit you with watermark on screen and I'll drop a link in the description as well. Thank you in advance.
when you don't get your body in the right position (way off to the inside), then you have to lean the bike too far and you can lowside. I've seen it happen too many times. Can't get lazy!
I see lot of SFV4 crashing on trackdays. Most of the time because of loosing grip on the front... it's all because of the upright bodyposition, you gotta lean your upper body forward, frontbreak into the corners to give that front tyre weight thus grip. And yeah, warm tyres give you that extra grip you need when staying upright body like that
Still learning the street fighter and it does seem to like more weight on the front which is generally how I ride. The main issue here is that I wasn’t setup for the turn because of our pace (being lazy) and it caught me when I least expected it.
Those tires on the Streetfighter look like summer track-oriented tires. The best thing for the Dragon in the fall/winter like this would be something like S22, Road 5, Diablo Rosso 4, etc.
Hello, Rider! Hope you're doing great! Wonderful clip! Would it be OK if we used it in a youtube video we're making and maybe share it on our social media? We'll credit you in the video and all descriptions. Thank you! :)
It wasn’t the cold tires. It was too much lean angle. He’s moving his butt over but his upper body and head are on the opposite side defeating the purpose.
I would be looking for tyres that warm up quicker if thats gonna happen, probably Pirelli on there and usually aint to bad but you need to be super smooth on the cold tyres, some are better than others though, and watching the Dragon a lot i have been expecting a lot more of this to happen, and to many watching good riders who know the road well and they think they will come and show you how to ride, it just wont happen, always liking your vids CR, good times from Scotland
@@ItsDuct Im shocked the cup 2 did this, they are stickier than shit to a blanket, so what was it, to much wrist while lying over, i keep the traction control high when doing that on my 1290 SDR so as i dont low side it, i just feel the power cut before the slip, its quicker than me
@@rgthomson1 we were doing sub 40mph. Combination of several things… tires not warm enough, ground temp got colder, bad line and not in a good body position. Any of things more isolated and I don’t think the front goes. Unfortunately, being on YT you don’t see the full context. We weren’t running a fast pace at all. You can see the remainder of the video I was running a mild, chill pace. I never run hot up the mountain.
I remember this day, temperature was @-2⁰c, coming out of the house I wanted to take-off really fast, instead my rear tire started rolling in one position due to no grip. That's how I learnt cold tires are real
It was definitely cold tires. You definitely can't ride like that on cold tires without crashing. Could you ride differently at that speed on those same cold tires and NOT crash? Definitely.
The Pilot Cup 2 still works, just have to get some heat on them first. This trip I'm trying Cup 2s, Battlax RS11, and ContiRaceAttack 2 Street tires. All of them very grippy, but all require some time to come up to temperature. Usually after 3-5 min of strong accelerating and braking, you can lean them all the way with confidence. Tires that are more street oriented warm up even faster: Battlax S22, Diablo Rosso III, etc.
It wasn't the tires, it was the dumb guy who sat like a sack of potatoes then leant the bike fully over after like 3 corners... Riding motorcycles for a long time doesn't mean sh*t, as it was proven many-many time on the road and at the track.
Beautiful Ducati street fighter enjoy but just needed to brake earlier because I think still on front break too much on bend that's y gave way glad your OK and have gear and frame sliders helped ride safe trees make road slippy 😎
@@CraigS-22 what ever if he went around that bend normal wouldn’t of crashed not rubbish come to uk were we have bends and rubbish not like your fancy roads always cleaned
@@scottdiver36 but what you’ve said about the brakes is fundamentally wrong. You can brake deep into a corner And I’m a UK biker with plenty of track experience. Stop spouting shite 😂
@@CraigS-22 you can but smooth and not jab them and track is so different and this is my opinion and I seen so many super bikers get it wrong were not all perfect
