Craving the Best Korean Food from Japan's 7-Eleven 

The difference between 7Eleven in Japan and 7Eleven here in the US is remarkably incomparable, I could only wish our 7Eleven would be taking notes on how outstanding the store is in Japan.

Sorry I'm a bit behind on watching the videos... Bibimbab was the first Korean dish that I ever tried, in a Korean restaurant in Tokyo. That was so good. And I loved the grilled pork in lettuce wraps I had as a student in Shin-Okubo. Probably samgyeopsal. And at home I make a quick version of Budae Jjigae with Sutah Korean instant noodles. And the sweets that look like treads yo can buy in Shin-Okubo were so good as well, though now I have to be avoiding peanuts, so can't have those anymore. I saw on some of the packages that there was a promotion for visit Korea year, so I hope they still have some of these in the autumn. The kimbab, marinated egg, the chicken, sundubu (though I usually go for kimchi jiggae with tofu in it), bibim reimen and perhaps the kalbi beef barley soup. Perhaps they made most dishes sweeter as Japanese food is not that spicy. So more people in Japan will enjoy them.

I don't know how authentic it is but in the US we have a Korean fried chicken chain called Bonchon and I am OBSESSED with their chicken. I also recently got to try a Korean mozzarella dog which equally mind-blowing.

Oh gosh once again you shared some really delicious looking food. The 7Eleven here in the US is so much different than it is in Japan, and that is so sad that they can't be half as good as your 7Eleven's are there in Japan. Thank you for the video! the marinated egg is indeed Korean "mayak egg". The herb that you feel in chicken soup is a ginseng root, and that's why this dish is expensive in the restaurant. But maybe in 7 eleven they don't use it, or maybe use just a scent of ginseng

Wow, That is a BIG selection of Korean food. My fave Korean dish would be Nakji-bokkeum I love Octopus and Takoyaki is in my Top 5 Japanese foods 👍🏻

That was a nice spread! Although most of the dishes fell a bit short, it seems like 7-Eleven gave Korean food a good try. My favorite Korean dish as a kid was bulgogi as a ssam. Once I stopped eating meat, I really loved vegetarian ssambap and pancakes like hobak buchim (zucchini) and gamjajeon (potato). Have a great weekend, guys!

My favorite Korean dish is beef bibimbap at a local Korean restaurant across the street from where I live. I also really enjoy Japchae. Most of the food that you both tried out looked so good!

That croissant thing is everywhere here but usually at chain coffee shops etc. I think they allow for croissants to be pre-made and transported because I can't figure out why anyone would eat one over a regular croissant! Maybe just not my thing :)

I need to stop watching you guys when I haven't eaten. Because now I want to eat something I can have! 😂 Thank you for giving me more food I want to try out!

Craffles are so popular in Korea at the moment. They buy the frozen uncooked croissants, defrost them and allow them to prove. You then cook them in a waffle iron and you can use butter and sugar to coat them before cooking to get a luscious crispy glaze when cooked.❤❤👵🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌹🌹 I should think you could do it with honey too.

I'm half-Korean and I love Korean food :D My favorite is soon dubu, with pork and the egg in it. I'm not a huge seafood fan, so I use ground pork in mine.

I've been exploring, but I don't live close to many Korean restaurants, so I've been cooking it myself. My favorite so far is Bulgogi Teokbokki - I love the chew of the ricecakes with the veggies and bulgogi beef. A close 2nd is the sweet & spicy Korean chicken - I always have to dial down the gochujong, but I love the chicken so much. I really love Korean Kimbap too - I can get that at H-Mart. I'm going to get japchae from the H-Mart deli one of these days, I really want to try it.

I only tried the marinated eggs. They were really delicious; I had to get them twice. How did they manage to make them so flavorful and perfectly soft on the inside?

Bibimbap is my favorite Korean food. But there's a Korean BBQ restaurant here that I haven't gone to yet. If I ever get to go, I might have a new favorite. And it was so funny that you ate the cheese hotteok. I actually had that for the first time tonight with dinner. Found it in the frozen section of my local Asian store. I didn't like it all that much. It was, like you said, like mochi. It had flavorless mozzarella cheese inside and was squishy. It might have been better if it was crispy on the outside, but the directions to heat it up said microwave or steam. Not buying them again.

I too noticed Korean food sold in Japan is typically milder spicy and sweeter than the dishes I ate in South Korea, especially Southern South Korea cities like Masan, Busan, and Daegu. By the way, try traditional Korean sweets like Songpyeon, Yaksik and Yakgwa. They are yummy.
