This is the Rearview of the 1.9" Axial Ripsaw in R35 compound. This started as a Redux, but transitioned to a Rearview as the 1.9" Ripsaw is officially discontinued, but you can still find some NOS online.

Josh Theide designed and developed this tire before he was vanquish. I actually bought a set of the 2.2s off eBay few months ago. Still in my closet!

Ah yes the good old ripsaw. Back in the day, the ripsaws were such an under rated tire. I personally prefer the r35 trepador, and still run them on my scx10.2

Ripsaws won't fit a rig that runs Rovers, and vice versa. Good thing we have variety.

Axial isn't Horizon's tire brand. Axial tires exist so you can replace them with Pro-Line tires.

Aren't the ripsaws pre Horizon Axial? I'd think that the current Axial tires are made *by* Pro-Line

That is 100% correct. R35 is the placeholder compound so that you can put $100 worth of PL tires and inserts on your brand new RTR just to make it functional. Every good Axial-branded tire has been discontinued.

I have to agree, the R35 ripsaw 1.9 is one of my favorite tires too. That tire has surprised me on more than one occasion. I have doubts about the 2.2 set of ripsaws though. The 2.2 version of them seems to be a lot thicker and doesnt seem to be as flexible.

Let's be fair, while close to the max C1 size they still measure 4.25 " with the C1 foams. I am sure with the stock foams 4.3 is a reasonable measurement. I know, splitting hairs over 0.16", forgive me 😂. Great old school Axial tire, wish there were more tires between 4.2 and 4.6".

4.5" is like a black hole in tire sizing, which is a shame. It's possibly the perfect size for portals. 4.19" for C1 is arbitrary anyway. There's too many 108mm tires out there to even count.

They don't really seem to mind temperature very much, at least that part of R35 shows. They do seem a bit better on "damp" more than soaking wet, but the performance is pretty well-rounded.

No, I think that would be overstuffed and well over-firm. Just get the C1 Injora greens, unless you're worried about weight. I have made some C1 Canyon Customs using the inners from the Injora dual stage (red inner) with two wraps of fridge foam, but that inner is so dense it weighs about the same as a Silicone. And those are plug-and-play.
