6:00 This is pretty much standard these days and makes alot of sense. I just hope that they get round the problem we had with converting the athletes' village blocks of flats here in London. All catering for participants is in large refectories. Therefore each athletes' flat had no kitchen and apparently in many tower blocks the architects had made no provision for one. Unsellable without one, vast expense was incurred making them fit for long term purpose!

*near Austerlitz train station, there's no Stalingrad train station, only a metro one that is far from the new water reservoir.

Stalingrad is a Paris Métro station on the border between the 10th arrondissement and 19th arrondissement at the intersection of Lines 2, 5 and 7. Our sources say it's the nearest station to the underground rainwater tank they're trying to fix for the games.

@@UltimateMegaBuilds Yeah I know, I live in the 19th only 2 stations away from Stalingrad metro station (Belleville station, intersection of M2 and M11). But your sources are wrong, the new giant rainwater tank has been built near the Seine River, right next to Austerlitz mainline train station, which is at a much lower elevation. And the tank is in the 13th arrondissement, touching the "Square Marie Curie". The tank itself is called "Bassin de stockage d'Austerlitz" (Austerlitz' retention tank). There's zero doubt about this, I followed the construction. There would be no point in building a rainwater surge tank near Stalingrad station anyway, as it is located in an area with a higher elevation and quite distant from the Seine River. The canal that runs through Stalingrad plaza requires boats coming from the Seine to climb several locks to reach Stalingrad. So it would be a terrible location for a rainwater overflow tank, because this type of equipment needs to be built near the lowest point. The tank is near Austerlitz mainline train station, I'm absolutely sure about this and I just verified again. There's also a tunnel that was dug with a TBM to connect this tank on the left bank to another entry point and sewer connection on the right bank of the river on the other side of the M5 rail bridge (aka "Viaduc d'Austerlitz"). The tunnel runs under the river. The TBM was probably the smallest used in Paris in the past 20 or 30 years.

@@UltimateMegaBuilds I don't know why but my reply disappeared ! I was saying that I know because I live only 2 stops away from Stalingrad metro station in the 19th district. But your sources are mistaken, the new rainwater tank is located at a lower elevation near the Seine in the 13th arrondissement, almost inside the "Square Marie Curie" right between Gare d'Austerlitz (Austerlitz mainline train station) and the huge Salpêtrière hospital center. The new tank is referred to as "Bassin de stockage d'Austerlitz" and is connected via a tunnel to other sewer wells and smaller tanks on both sides of the river. The tunnel has been recently dug with a TBM, which is probably the smallest TBM used in Paris in the past 20 or 30 years. The tunnel runs under the river. It would have been strange to build a rainwater surge tank near Stalingrad because this area has a higher elevation and is quite distant from the Seine River. The point of a rainwater overflow tank is to collect the excess of rainwater, so it must be located close to the lowest elevation points. So, near the river and not on the side of a hill.

@@UltimateMegaBuilds I'm desperately trying to answer you but my comment replies systematically disappear. Why?

Trying a different way, 3rd time : Yeah I know Stalingrad station quite well, I live in Belleville which is 2 stops away from Stalingrad metro station. But the new giant underground water tank is nowhere near Stalingrad station. It's near Austerlitz mainline train station, almost under the Square Marie Curie on the Southwestern side of Gare d'Austerlitz in the 13th arrondissement. The new rainwater overflow tank is referred to as the "Bassin de stockage d'Austerlitz". I don't know where your source found their information but it's wrong, the area around Stalingrad metro station would have been a terrible choice for a rainwater tank anyway. Such equipment needs to be built near a low point close to the river. Stalingrad is several meters higher than the Seine and quite distant from it. It wouldn't be a suitable location for such a rainwater overflow tank.
