No dance routines, no fake suntans, no dancers in high heels and bikinis, no stupid makeup, no glitter, no distractions, no playback, no lip-syncing -- just wonderful, beautiful music from hugely talented musicians. Love it!!! :o)
Does this man ever ease up? every video is better than the last one....... The world should be in awe of this man, Joan Chamorro Thank you very much for posting this great stuff.
I would have to disagree. Very, very good performance but the video production is well below par. Have half a dozen camera's and have to switch between them constantly and far to often.
Andrea's remarkable musicianship has earned multiple thousands of praiseworthy comments for her videos and recordings. I've yet to see a comment praising yet another talent. She is a charismatic and enthusiastic leader of her bands, which is a rarity in jazz circles through the years. And partly why she has a huge following.
This is one of my favorite song, and this is the best renditions that I've heard.Give quality modern jazz musicians a good piece of music and the magic happens.
When Mr. C's veins stand out while playing, I know he means it. In response to other comments here, I keep coming back to one thought: We are not seeing show business here; far from it. Here are outstanding musicians who absolutely love what they are doing. Andrea sings and plays in many styles and genres expertly. We are seeing and hearing a display of over the top musicianship without gimmicks of any kind. Pretty refreshing. I find myself listening to all elements of SAJB for hours on end, probably 20 times on this one alone. Can't get enough of the authenticity and integrity. Long live everything happening at Sant Andreu Jazz Band.
Love this video, its got grit and no holding back individual performances full of life and emotion. Watching Andrea switch seamlessly from belting out lyrics to playing trumpet leaves me amazed and thrilled by this beautiful young woman's abilities.
This version of "Crazy" by Andrea Motis and Joan Chamorro is -- hand's down -- my favorite RU-vid music video of 2020. The passion and musicianship are intense and superlative. The lyrics, "Maybe I'm crazy, maybe you're crazy... possibly!" could not be more apropos for this the zaniest, and least sane year of my 72 spins riding this rock around the sun. Turn it up and repeat because once is not enough. I love how her impish smile at the end shows she knows they crushed it.
Joan Chamorro is some kind of miracle man. He is so talented in his own right in addition he finds these young people who just blow you away time after time. I’m so happy that they showed up in my RU-vid feed. I have seen some interviews but in Spanish. Music at it’s best such joy, expression in this music. I need to get the backstory on Joan. The piano player is so inventive and different mesmerizing.
I think the most remarkable thing about this performance is to see them ALL having so much fun doing it! I really enjoy Andrea's singing and watching her mature in her performances. Chamorro has provided a venue for these young musicians to learn, perform and grow with their beautiful music -- bravo and brava to all!
About the only thing as good as the talent of these amazing artists, is how much fun they seem to have making music. If I had to be stuck on a deserted island with nothing else....
In some ways it is hard to believe such sophistication and artistic performances are being produced by such young talents as Andrea, Alba and Rita. But it is very real. These young musicians are dedicated professionals due not only to their talents, but to Joan and years of work. They give us great pleasure while clearly having the times of their lives.
Surprisingly different..what an evolution you’ve been through..from samba to jazz..& now to pop rock...outstanding!!...kudos to you Andrea & to the rest of the band..you guys have come a long way..with backup vocals too..wow!!...good job, Joan Chamorro for the great music arrangement and for keeping the group together!!!
Did anyone else notice the beautifully impish smile on Andrea's face as she finished singing? It made my heart skip a beat!!! What a true gift this young lady is!
As a teen you could see Andrea's career begin to blossom. Raw talent turned to perfection. What a performer....so glad she is doing what she was born to do.....Thank you Joan Chamorro!!! You have an absolute gift in bringing out talent!!!! Even from average musicians you draw out excellence!!! With this young lady, you turned good water into fine wine!!! God bless you Joan Chamorro!!! I could listen to your ensemble play and Andrea play and sing all day, every day, and all night too!
Just a whole lot of talent in that group, pulled out of them by Chamorro, who knows how to give these young people something they will cherish their whole lives! Bravo to all!
Andrea Motis.
First song I heard Andrea perform was Summertime and was impressed by her multiple talents. Then Moanin was suggested and I was blown away again. Simply outstanding group and no question about it, they will become your favorite group as well.
