We returned to the Wheatley Oval on Saturday against champo high-flyers Farnsfield, with both teams looking to bounce back after chastening defeats the previous weekend.
Wheatley welcomed back Jono, Ani, H and Cal H into a side captained by Stew in the absence of holidaying skipper Tom.
Expect (a number of) epic comebacks, tumbling wickets and one of the most skilful bowlers we've seen at HQ in recent years (no, not Tongy).

Never a dull moment with Wheatley :) Good knock by Cal in context, a well "clobbered" 40 and some HP sauce down the order, almost as if Henry went all Jacques Kallis for a while there. No doubt the Aussie was a formidable bowler, great spell but matched by Wheatley's all round effort. Nice to see Alex again, always entertaining, whether for or against Wheatley. And Jono...one day soon buddy you're going to snaffle all 10 wickets....well you will if there is an iota of justice in this cruel, cruel world.

Much obliged, Martini! I realised quite early in the channel’s life that most people don’t really care who wins, they just want to watch some entertaining club cricket. Good cricket’s just good cricket, irrespective of who performs it (although, I’d obviously prefer it to be Wheatley!).

Wheatley should consider opening the bowling with Connor, he seems to get wickets at will. I know Tongy got a 5 for but Connor's 4.3.3.3 is outstanding.

From a distance u would see oh green track gonna be great for the seamers, but always been a believer of if it seams, it will spin ! Some proper spin from Cal on show. Not sure going back to lads who are driving the ball into the surface is a good idea when ur batting ! If Tongy had held onto the one at slips I would imagine the celebration, and be disappointed if it wasn't shirt off swinging it above his head whilst doing a lap! I suspect pect u wouldn't ever get a better catch on camera Pecky !

The opposition overseas bowling what (from camera at least) looked like both leg spinners and googlies at medium pace and with control looked like no fun at all to face. Leg spin is hard enough as it is let alone at that speed. Forget using your feet. Brilliantly bonkers game of cricket, fair play.
