Our locals prerelease for thunder junk was horrrible. Barely 15 players when our karlov manor was 40! Also, i spoke to several lgs owners in california and thunder junction has sold less on prerelease weekend than karlov.... regardless, keep reporting on the downfall of mtg

To be fair Narset also became a planeswalker without being traumatized. She had a moment of enlightenment that ignited hers. Very similar to Tamiyo. Urza's wasn't necessarily traumatic either he had effectivey a mtg nuke equivalent(sylex) blow up in his face.

@@TheMagicHistorianhis spark ignited as a result of fusing with the mightstone and meekstone while his body was destroyed. this was near instantaneous or it would have been without teferi time shenanigans. the cause being effectively instantaneous is why it isnt necessarily traumatic.

My three favorite things about the Sorin flipwalker: 1. Making a Food is a very subtle nod to the fact that the famine was fixed, there was more food now that the vampires only had to feed on people instead. 2. The Lifelink counter on his ult requiring a white permanent could be a subtle nod to either Edgar, Nahiri or Avacyn. 3. THE vampire planeswalker WILL NOT have his card design SULLIED with Blood tokens.

8:49 I just have to "um acthually" here, if you cast a MDFC that has the instant or sorcery on the back side then he could enter with just 2 loyalty. Or if something like leyline of the void was in play removing your graveyard, but that one was more obvious than the 8 MDFC cards that are instants or sorceries on just the back side.

I went to a comic toy con today. 60 vendors. Many had pokeman. Lorcani and a few other cars games. Out of 11 tables had all the popular stuff one person had a binder of MTG cards. A few admitted no one is asking for MTG. That says a lot .

Is Ral playable as a commander since his base is a legendary? That instant/sorcery costs 1 less in a blue deck sounds insane. Being able to spend more resources and forced to keep less open for counterspells sounds great. Even having to sac 1life each spell for it at worst sounds like an amazing value. Especially considering he's only a two drop.

'Thrust upon me'...On the boat we had a guy that got mad at another guy, so he took the teddy bear 1st guy had in his rack, a memento from his girlfriend, and committed an unnatural act on the bear. The then put said bear back in the other guy's rack, right on his pillow. I hope that's not Loot's fate.

I'm assuming you can use the walkers in multicolored decks since the card on the back is split between 2 colors? for edh obviously lol

It depends slightly on what you mean by "use" and "multicolored". Like all DFCs, both sides of the card contribute to the card's color identity. So if you are wanting to use these in the 99, you must have a commander that has both colors in its color identity. On the other hand, if you're wanting to use these as commanders, you will have access to both colors for the rest of your deck.

Since MTG will probably never make a flip card for my favorite planeswalker I will do it for them Tibalt, Pain Practitioner At the beginning of each end step, create a 1/1 red devil creature token with “ when this creature dies, deal, one damage to any target” if you delt you damage to an opponent during the turn. If an opponent attacks you, if you have five or more devils, exile, five devils you control, take five damage, and exile Tibalt, Pain Practitioner, return it to the battlefield transformed under its owner’s control at the start of your next upkeep. Tibalt, Bane of Innistrad (6) +1: each opponent discards a card at random and are dealt 1 damage -4: Deal x damage to target player, where x is the total damage delt to the player this turn -10: you get an emblem with “at the beginning of each end step, create a 1/1 red devil creature token with first strike for each life an opponent lost during the turn.”

Some good things here, some bad things. No mana cost or power/toughness. What is this sposed to be? An early game card like the rest of the MH3 cycle? Transform trigger will NEVER happen. Either you'll never have the tokens, or opponents will never attack you. MH3 cycle is pretty easy to flip while also being slightly situational or requires a bit of set up. This is way too damn impossible. Making the devils trigger though is actually neat. If you make him a 1 or 2 cmc card then it becomes like a conditional bitterblossom on legs which I like. First two pw abilities are fine. His 2nd actually seems pretty good and I figure that's why you chose to make his flip condition nearly impossible. You could easily end games with that -4. Since most of the power weighting is around that -4, and in its current iteration it would NEVER FLIP, I'd suggest either weakening or changing it out right. What's the point of being a transform card if your opponents will literally never let you transform? -10 actually sounds weak for an ultimate. Yes, it could be a lot of tokens, but it also requires help from other things. I don't like that....but it's kinda servicable? Maybe remove the first strike for pings like all other devils and I would like it more. Mostly change flip condition and the -4 and I could see it being decent depending on mana cost.

@@tonysmith9905 forgot to add some parts, my bad, he is a 2/2 human warlock with a mana cost of (1)R B, as for the transform mechanic, admittingly that was just due to the lore since the inquisitors were going to kill tibalt when they stormed his lab, originally the idea was to have it as a beginning of the upkeep trigger.

With every universes beyond they made the characters look like themselves (at least where the origin media is visual) but not on the cards I mightve actually wanted. Like, wtf. It's not Magic x Cowboy Bebop, it's 5 magic cards if they were in the CB opening. WHY. I WANTED a Spike card, and of course a Swordfish II card. But no, its Oko's shadow on a background vaguely resembeling a 2s shot from the opening.
