Put in ur room temperature butter and mix at medium speed, until creamy and soft. Then after two mins, add in sugar and mix until light and fluffy. At high speed, add the eggs one by one. Add flour,baking powder and a small amount of milk.Then on little speed, mix until the flour is gone There u go 😀 Edit: so sorry about the measurements, it seems like Baywin has posted them 👍

I love these videos! It's so nice to have one "mother" mix that you can customize to whatever you're in the mood for. I like that if you want to do half Birthday Cake (my favorite too!) and half carrot cake (hubby's favorite) we can both get what we want! :-)

A few weeks ago I made the Birthday Cake (didn't realise that was a flavour till watching your channel) cupcakes for my daughter's birthday to take to her class. First time ever making cupcakes as well as making buttercream frosting...oh my gosh! So good! My daughter and her class LOVED the cupcakes, had some extras made for my husband as well and it was a hit! Charlotte, this is a really flexible recipe. The basic sponge can be used for all sorts of cakes, it is proportional. easy to remember, and will take lots of flavors, buttercream, fondant etc. Good for you, well done :)

I tried making these lovely cupcakes, some with and others without the add-ins. The ones with the flavor add-ins came out gorgeous! Thank you! The ones without didn't turn out so good, they had this bread-like pudding look. So I wanted to ask, MUST the crazy cupcakes recipe have add-ins for the perfect finish?
Hi. Cupcakes without add-ins should be like any vanilla cupcake, light in color with a soft crumb. I suspect it stayed too long in the oven, that it looked like bread pudding. I hope this helps.

Gemma I love this! I am a big lover of cupcakes. I was a teacher for many years and always started the year off with making my student cupcakes. And I just have always found that bringing cupcakes to a friend's house or a relative is just a lovely treat. How wonderful to have one base to start with and be able to add different ingredients to get all these wonderful cupcakes! This is very helpful to me as my family all have different tastes and now instead of making batches of different cupcakes I can make just several different cupcakes for each person! I just want to give you a big compliment on the beautiful way that you decorate your cupcakes. It's so lovely and elegant. I will say that I am in total agreement with you about the frosting and feel Vindicated because many times I was told that I put too much frosting on my cupcakes. Never by my students of course LOL. Love the carrot cupcake my mom not a big cupcake eater will love that. Sorry for another long post but I just love being part of your Bolder baking community if it's okay to say that. Gemma Stafford hi Gemma! Yes I am 2nd and 3rd generation Irish depending on the side of the family LOL I love my country but I have always felt very connected to my Irish ancestry. I think that Irish DNA is strong stuff haha. I say that because there are part of the family that through marriage there's less Irish ancestry, in some of the children and cousins. Not me but I always see so much of my grandma in my cousin's children it is so funny and lovely.❤ sorry for the long reply. Love this recipe! One question: you made 6 cupcakes (didn't fill the entire cupcake tin), is it okay to leave the unused "cups" empty? I was once told when not using all the "cups" to fill the empty ones with water-it was supposed to help with even baking. You didn't seem to have any problems with leaving them empty. They all looked great.

Definitely making the chocolate peanut butter!But I have one question my cupcakes and muffins always come out kind of crunchy on the outside and not soft and light so how do you make it not like that?😞
Check the temperature of your oven; it may be too high. If so, you could lower it a few degrees, and make sure you test for doneness by putting in a answer. When it comes out clean, the cupcake is 'done'.
