I completely agree with your exact expressed sentiment. Clean Silver, clean silver wheels, tastefully lowered and good sounding exhaust. What else do you need?
Absolutely a clean build. APR is really the way to go! I bought my mk7 gti brand new and dropped APR1 Stage 1 at 5k miles, owned the car for 100k miles and no problems other than the DSG at 97k miles having some weird 5th gear rattling noise, which I blame on the dsg maintenance that dealer claims, they heard no rattling after. These cars on Stage 1 are incredibly fast, like Challenger, Charger, Corvette fast... dont ask me how I know :D
I love the MK7's, they are the best looking golfs.. those and the old R32's/ and MK4 VR6 models.. had one in high school and having a V6 is such a dream but, I knew i should have bought a R32 when I had the chance.. now they are pushing 30-40k with 100k miles on them.. but keep it up man, you did a really good job explaining all the mods, you have a good personality for youtube.. and I learned more about upgrading a MK7 GTI to out perform the Type R spec, at "least in power and torque" and i've been debating buying a used MK7 type R or MK7 gti, or Audi S3, I also had a 2001.5 Audi S4, and those things are incredible, mine was stock and it was still quick and could go anywhere in the winter.. and I sold it with over 220k miles with no real issues except normal wear and tear. but if you have any advice for me and the decision I have to make my budget is around 20-25k I would greatly appreciate it. I know they are all very similiar cars, but I like having all wheel drive for the winter but its not a deal breaker
How you kept that engine bay, simple but a monster under. Anyone looks at the bay goes, hmmm it's got nothing to it until you get gapped by it. Love the simplicity. Sick fucking car all around, inside out. I got one too, but yours is to be seen. Fam, not many have your built. I Look forward to see more.
Hate to be that guy, but your aren’t anywhere near 420hp with an OEM IS38 on 93oct. At best you are around 360 to 380hp. Even full E85 GTI’s barely see past 400whp and you are on borrowed time at that point. Still a clean GTI though.
My 2017 stage 2 golf R on the same is38 turbo has a dynograph of 359.5whp 335 ft lbs of wheel torque. Prob hovering around 410-430 crank horsepower on 91 pump gas. Custom tune from dyno comp in Scottsdale so I think he’s in the ball park
Very nice car! I am looking to buy the Racingline decal you have on the sides. I wanted to ask if you bought the short or the long one, and if you shortened it? Thank you so much!
You didn’t clarify what tune you went to stage 2 with your IE downpipe on. Assuming you stuck with APR throughout the 3 stages but just wanted to be certain because of the recent market changes with APR.👍
Love your ride. I have the 2017 SE. So far, Stage 2 is high as I've gone. I don't have plans of going any higher with the mods, but I didn't think I'd go stage 2 when I was still stage 1.
So sick man. I got my black 2018 6-speed MK7.5 for $18.8k with 20k miles on her. Got it appraised recently as well and they told me they’d offer $24.5k. No mods yet except 5% tint and blacked out badges
Got mine for 14k a month ago. Also has the maxton design wing. Because of the engineering failure of the air intake, I modified it on the right of the grill and put some 3d printed airgraber in. Now he also makes the „wush“ sound just with an k&n sportfilter. Love this car. It is ridiculously fast and the Buildquality is incredible.
You fell down the rabbit hole? Nice ride, bro. But that's not falling down the rabbit hole. This is, my engine has an 83mm bore, IE pistons, IE rods, IE valve springs, Ferra valves, IE keepers, Mahle bearings, CTS K04, IE K04 tune, IE DSG tune, IE manifold tune, IE manifold, CTS TBE, CTS intake, CTS rad, CTS intercooler, CTS outlet and throttle pipes, Grams throttle body, ECS catch can, Silvers NeoMax coilover system, SuperPro sway bars and full bushing kit, Konig Hypergrams, StopTech slotted, StopTech braided lines, etc. Now that's going down the rabbit hole. But you're off to an excellent start. Also, I daily mine, your safe to docthe same with yours. You build it to drive, not look at so drive it, build it then drive it some more. Good luck.
Bro $19k 😩 what a steal! I bought my mk7 se for $19,5k this year. It had 49k miles (more than I wanted) but for the price it would have sold the same day. I couldn’t pass up on another one, it’s only getting harder and harder to find a clean stock mk7
Is there a reason no body ever mentions those deflectors on the sides of the rear hatch window? I see everyone has them but never mention them... Even you skipped them when talking about the the rear wing extension , is it a VW/Audi secret society thing? Jk but I want to get them for my brother not sure how to look for them any help would help Thanks.. love your car 👍
@@ENGAGE_AUTO_GROUP Nope. A bit more vibration for the first week and thats it. Much smoother gear change when you floor the gas. I did pendulum change later but no significant change.
I'm surprised you're not running the ecs air ducts on that grille. Also just go full flex fuel its the same motor as the golf r despite what anyone wants to tell you these at 500 are just fine if they're done right. E85 will make everything at 400+ much safer not that you need it just nice to have.... also you don't wanna see what these cost now they're trying to sell them for at or above factory msrp despite the mk8 being out and available you're better off just buying new. I hate the mk8 interior tho
@@ENGAGE_AUTO_GROUP thanks. I just bought my wing spoiler, rear diffuser , and front lip from them. Gonna look great with my borla exhaust.! Cant wait to put em on. Im gonna stripe my car next week aswell. Thanks for the reply man.
Beautiful car bro I have vw jetta 1.8t ea888 gen 3. And I've done everything to it I can. For power wise. The down fall is there is now turbo made for non mqb platform. Love your car thats my next buy is a gti.
@@ENGAGE_AUTO_GROUP How do you like the springs? Took a drive out to Boston from NY last weekend on stock suspension and I scraped a few times! NE roads are the worst!
@@ENGAGE_AUTO_GROUP Thats good but other than thaat your car looks really good and tastefuly done, I myself have a Scirocco R and the standard sound for me is just fine'
As an owner of a stock Mk7.5 with 6speed, I ran across information online about crank-walk issues, due to upgraded clutches. Any concerns about this on your car?
Crank walk can happen on a stock clutch regardless. It’s a pre-disposed issue if your car was manufactured to be so, changing the clutch out won’t change the randomness that some of these cars will eventually be a victim of crank walk
@@_.Zen0_ It shouldn't be an issue. But, with a less than desirable thrust-bearing on the clutch side of the crankshaft, the force of the clutch presses the crank sideways (normal) without a stout thrust bearing design, and the crank can end up shifting laterally over time and cause some catastrophic issues. The stronger the pressure plate and clutch, the more force when you shove the clutch in to shift. That's the theory anyway. I truly don't know how common it is although I've read about it. Evidently VW hasn't built the most stout thrust bearing design to deal with it in the manual transmission cars. DSG isn't an issue.
