We test out @TheRobMckahan brand new, crazy loud straight piped Porsche 992 GT3RS and give you a preview of racing it against my Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica. www.magdenmotors.com/ #porsche #992gt3rs #automobile
Nobody out there will be amazed by 1/4 mile of GT3RS, but everybody will be how the car runs Laguna Seca!!! :) Well done!!! Absolutely fantastic content! This is THE CAR!!!
This is definitely not "track spec", more like poseur spec. It looks incredible, but you wouldn't have those wheels and ride height for track. And no track would allow a straight piped anything...well, maybe in Florida. 🤣Who replaces the suspension on an RS with aftermarket coil-overs?????
@@miken.1717Haha Design is subjective! And better product (performance) no not in case of a high end Porsche for the Track. Only Manthey, but you can‘t name them after market and they start as professional teams in professional racing leagues with the race versions of the 992 GT3RS, so they know the car perfectly and just add some completely professional racing stuff they use in 24h Nordschleife races on the race version car.
I definitely agree. Wheels replacement was just a terrible idea 21" and 22" wheels are huge and not needed for this car. Their design also quite controversial (I do not like them, I prefer the original Porsche rims). And exactly what you are saying, why put on coilovers and ruin the setup? Porsche have dedicated thousands of hours to develop and set this car properly, why would you just put coilovers for looks? As another guy said, only Manthey know what they are doing when upgrading a Porsche. And it is not as (relatively) cheap as the coilovers either.
Agreed, this is a typical south Florida styling Q unfortunately. Doing “mods“ for aesthetics, while simultaneously taking away from the cars performance. And another thing, it’s the most boring color you can have on a GT car besides silver. 🥴
Think it may make the mph a little higher, with how it is. But 11.20s for a RWD car, seems pretty accurate. If it was AWD I’d think the trap would be a little lower, 121-122. So, with these wheels, it doesn’t seem very far off to me. But it could be surprising with the stockers.
@@Enzo505 Exactly, this is a track day car, not a drag car, so doing suspension work and bigger wheels is just stupid. Only Manthey could make it go quicker around the track, otherwise leave it to Porsche to give the best compromise on the chassis.
Beautiful car , love the watch , happy birthday Brooks! Well not sure when it was haha but you mentioned getting the watch for your bday. Hope it was great 🙌🏼
Dragtimes Awesome Review I think Eric's Absolutely Incredible 992 911 GT3RS sounds absolutely insane and I can't wait to see it Race against your Huracan Technica
Great video, Brooks! Had to lower the volume during that start-up. Do you ever race on circuit tracks? Or do you prefer just straight-line racing? I figure that Porsche would be a dream on twists and turns.
I have a 2017 carrera in black, wish it was in metallic blue but I love the shape of the factory 20 inch wheels and in the case of that gt3rs, the wheels that it came with look awesome, are forged, possibly even magnesium if optioned, and should have been left in place
So... buy a track car, but add the heaviest wheels possible, slam to the ground and straight pipes... 3 changes that makes is slow / illegal for any racetrack 🤦♂
Road car. Put this on the track and get dusted by actual GT3 cup cars. You can't race I'm any series with the car so who cares. Slow on the street and will never see the track so who cares. The wheels are ugly to me though lol.
The wheels are incredible on this car. Such a cool car the aero is wild would love to track this thing and feel the downforce on this car. Great video Brooks love the channel.
I belong to a private race track and see tons of Porsches screaming by all the time. They are plenty loud enough stock, straight piped is obnoxious and kind of annoying. Stock they sound awesome!
I have a 992 GT3 RS in my collection as well (and several Daytonas, including the ultra rare Rainbow and the equally rare 24 Hours of Le Mans 100th Anniversary). You know the point of this car is the curvy track, not the straight track, but still fun to watch!
Love the look of this car...absolutely killer. Sounds insane as well for a 6 cyl. Id go gt2 rs though...the gt3 is just too slow for any type of straight line racing especiallyl rolls on the street..just not enough power but would be a great daily for ripping around.
Definetely not a good daily, the strong point of this car are the tracks, is not fast in a straight line because it wasn't built for that, it was built to perform in an amazing way in corners, to make it a track weapon
Heard that you can only order the roll bar from the factory in Europe, or not in America Brooks...but I'm not sure? I think Tim said that a few videos back? That car is beautiful, can't imagine how loud it sounds in person!
About the roll bar. U.S. bound GT3’s with Weissach package do not come with a roll bar while the European ones do get the roll bar with the package. Everyone at the track asks why?
Still very quick for a N/A car. My G82 xDrive, couldn’t hang with anything except the 0-60. The 60-130 is almost 7/10ths quicker in the 911. 1/4 mile would be pretty close. But the 911 would probably have me in trap speed.
@@g.dubyou6263 Your g82 gets 9.8 60-130? Tbh I thought those cars were faster in stock form. But I'm sure it still feels decently quick since my stock ISF was averaging mid-12s and that felt somewhat quick.
@@fabian-isf5310yeah, not great. But a tune, down pipe and some e50 blend kicks that down into the mid 5s. Which is a huge difference. I’ve had my 2022 since 2021 and I’m already looking at getting something else. It doesn’t have to be faster, but, I’ve put 16k on the G82 and I just don’t keep cars that long.
Is a reason why is 100 k dollars plus between Tesla plaid and this (and are people waiting months for this car ) IS ABOUT HOW DAMM GOOD IS DRIVE THIS CAR is just awesome ,just perfect
