I've heard other videos where it's pulling sound from inside the cabin. Its not like this but there's great induction and supercharger noise. Either way it'll sound great no matter where you are lol.
Lotus is basically the antithesis of straight line speed and drag racing, so pleasantly surprised to see it on this channel. These cars were built for the canyons and windy mountain roads, so hard to test that in Florida unfortunately. Awesome modern analog driver's car and sounds great too.
@@revelersridge136 Oh the winding road in Suches that goes from the waterfall up to Mountain Crossings is just killer! Motorcycles run it nearly every weekend.
KEF is a high-end audio company based in Maidstone, UK. KEF actually stands for Kent Engineering & Foundry, who owned the land where the company made its base.
Yup, and like Lotus, KEF is owned by a Chinese company. It’s amazing how China is saving British brands that would have been a footnote in history long ago.
This was a very entertaining and enjoyable watch… appreciate your time putting this review together. Looks like a real “drivers” car, small, lightweight, and just being able to hear the mechanical’ness as you sweep the rev range.
Great video. I've had my Emira 3 weeks and really enjoy it. I had a '23 M4 Comp Xdrive and a '17 911 S manual before this car. This car is definitely the more fun one to drive and you get a ton of attention due to looks. Like the 911 and M4, once it is broken in, I will only drive it in sport (and sometimes track) mode. The throttle response is much better.
@@THExKINGxKINGx This is a lot more fun than an M4. But if you want straight line speed and a more luxurious car, that is the M4. It is a monster when it comes to speed. That being said, the Emira manual is much more fun, much better engine sound, and gets a ton of attention cause it looks so good. Just depends what you are looking for.
@@ms8742 I could go for either.. damn hard choice. Thanks for the response. May just go with the m3 since it’s half the price with about 10,000-20,000 miles. Love both.
That spec, but with yellow calipers and white interior is what I had set up with sport suspension. But d delivery kept being pushed out so I let it go. Love the look and reviews of the driving experience is what has me reconsidering it.
Sounds incredible! Wasn't expecting that. Only thing I can nit pick is that weird hood. Otherwise looks and sounds awesome! Can't complain about it having stick either. Awesome.
Just bought the evora gt (little bit more power and more raw) and can't believe how much I am enjoying it. Lotus connects you to the road like no other car.
Won't be the fastest car you own by far, but it will the most fun car you own. Super responsive chassis, go cart handling, lively powertrain. wonderful drivers car.
Thank you for an excellent review! As a lucky owner in Europe, mine is now 1 year old. I drive the FE V6 automatic with touring suspension, which is much better as a daily driver and to have fun on the imperfect European B roads. Or to do transcontinental drives in. Romanticism about the manual aside, just try the clutch in daily traffic and you’ll wish for an auto. The manual and auto boxes come with 6 gears on the Toyota-sourced V6. The i4 four cylinder from AMG comes only with an eight-speed DCT, without a manual option. I know my US and Asian friends have had to wait much longer than the EU customers, but you have more colour options. The car is simply sublime, whichever configuration you’ve ordered it in. Also, I believe the little fun valve you see on top of the engine in the rear view mirror is a valve on the supercharger, not a throttle valve. But it is fun indeed and gives you insight into the car’s mechanicals. Enjoy the car! And for whoever is waiting: it’s worth the wait.
Sounds incredible and i like how its in a smaller fun size. I was looking to get my first manual sportscar and i think the Emira will look amazing next to my 2022 911 Turbo S. I hope they offer fun colours like Porsche PTS
Kef speakers are a British manufactured high-end speaker. I have Kef in-ceiling/in-wall throughout my home. They are very nice speakers! I assume the automotive version are just as high quality!
this is truly a drivers car. a nice, reliable engine from toyota with a nice sound, absolutely beautiful, no hybrid system, manual, hydraulic steering, rwd, i literally cant find a flaw
Nice looking car! I recognize that switchgear, steering wheel from Volvo/Geely (Lotus now owned by Geely). Should be good quality. Infotainment must be running on the same system as the latest Volvo’s, I believe Google based. Nice interior step up for Lotus. Toyota V6 isn’t too shabby sounding with a decent exhaust on it. This car may sell well considering the reasonable price for decent performance and quality. Nice vid!
It sounds pretty good, with a exhaust you can make it almost sound like a V12. RevMonkey posted a video of his new Larini exhaust system a few months ago. You can buy the Emira with two different suspension setups, touring is what you want if you want more comfort. I'm waiting for the AMG semi automatic version.
Kef makes a very good sound system. Did you get the car in Maryland? You have some very nice vehicles. Drive safe! The problem with boosting the upcoming AMG four is cooling. AMG gets plenty of HP, but it's a front engine car.
Pedals are close together for double clutching with one foot, obviously a throwback track car for those that know how to rev match without computer aids
Def an absolute stunner of a car for the money. Honestly some supercharger pulleys and a tune to bring it over 500 hp would prob help , the 2.0t with 500 ish hp would prob also be pretty solid
@@Matt.e_Black That's what they all say. Former LEO of over 10 years I'd say doubtful based on my experience and how many accidents from so-called expert drivers
Thanks for this POV review. I had an opportunity to pick one up, from a tuned APR/AWE outfitted Audi S5 SB. Don't think the Lotus is faster or more practical!🤷🏾♀️
Sounds awesome. I've been looking at a Evora 400 for 79k but this is really nice. I've never bought a car that expensive but They hold value pretty Well.
Last Evora (GT?) has more power and less weight than Emira with the same engine and trans. They are largely the same car but I think the Evora is slightly cooler but not as exotic looking. Hope you get the 400! I'm looking at an Elise myself as a third car to join my Camaro SS and Fiesta ST.
So, like most buyers, I pre ordered one about 2.5 years ago in Verdant Green; missed the first edition cut, just barely. Dealer told me to expect a price increase and increased price for ticked options. Got the call about 2 weeks ago to check out a Magma red one that buyer backed out on, my 2nd choice for colors. I jumped at the opportunity, because I knew right away I was getting more for less. Saved about %12 or $15k and got a more highly optioned car. As is I’ve got about 700 miles on it 300 to full break in; heading to the mountains today…
I wonder how long the Emira's trans will hold up to being drag raced? Hope we get to see its durability tested on this channel. I've heard the Evora clutch replacement is $10k US?
Great channel, great review… 400hp is not enough for the price. Great looking and I’m sure it handles amazing…. It needs a V8 or electric assist. It’s a great looking Supra in my opinion.
Looking forward to seeing what you do with the Emira. I have its older brother, the Evora GT which weighed 3,160 lbs when I had it on scales with a full tank of fuel. Totally agree that power is my biggest complaint with the car, they aren’t slow however I feel they need 50-100HP more. Fortunately it’s not to difficult to add this power…. I would also suggest GregsRaceParts decat pipe, I assume you would have the same results that I had with my evora, really makes the car sound GREAT. You also have a lotus ECU tuner in Florida, not sure if he’s cracked the Emira ECU, he does work on the Evora’s
@@0Camus0I haven’t seen 450 whp w/o a tune, headers should add around 30 whp (depends on the specific headers used). 450-500 whp, with headers, tune, intake…. But then the big question is what can the manual trans take.
Are the tinted back side windows a factory option? They really break the sleek roofline and make the car look even shorter than it is (almost too short and stubby). Other than that sweet car
Wow, that sound from a Toyota V6? Supercharger whine? SO Badass, I'm beyond impressed with this car, despite the Lotus forums reports of initial owner issues.
In every day life/driving its the perfect street car! Yeah its great to fry tires in 1st up to 3rd gear but besides that there is a speed limit and this car offers so much for that limit! You can rev it out its light just a great all round sports car! Just a sunday drive along the beach reving it out thats a pure sports experience ! I would however love a 600hp option! Then the 4 cylinder comes in to play and tune it up bigger turbos as you said would be great But it would be better if you could get the 600hp direct from factory! But lotus has never gone down that road! They specialize in the sports car market not supercars! I say well done its affordable it looks beautiful it will be reliable just a great little car! Id go c8 zo6 in a few years for 100k! Thanks Brooks!!!!God bless all 🙏❤
Yea the Lotuses all sound pretty good tbh. This is the best sounding one though, but was never availible in the US: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FVHkjCjSDrA.html
