Space babies shouldn’t have been the first episode. If I wasn’t already a fan, it wouldn’t have hooked me. They should have reversed the episodes. With space babies being the second or later in the year I am not worried about about doctor who. People always say it is ending with each doctor/show runner.

Re watch wild blue yonder it's the first time the tardis groans. The episode is jam packed with triangle imaging, the tardis takes itself away and the windows are darker yellow not the usual white, the pilot looks like a jackel and the writing is not a mile from hieroglyphics the whole episode is set on the edge of the void too, i think 14 integrated sutekh when he tried repairing the tardis

so i have a theory that Sutek is not yet fully manifested. Im not sure if im just being dumb and this is already a fact but where my theory comes from is that shot with sutek on the tardis. the way he's wrapping his arms and cloak around the tardis and how his back is arching down makes it very much look like he's still attached to the TARDIS itself and could possibly need it still to maintain his form so maybe that will be a plot point in the final? Also we know Suteks form is a man looking being in a mask whereas his current form is a huge jackal looking creature. I think maybe this is him trying to look big to scare possible threats to his full manifestation away (like you see in nature, a pufferfish puffs itself up to look big and scare away predators until its safe). but yeah honestly cannot wait for the final episode

My personal theory about Mrs. Flood is that she is Mother Nature. Someone who's been watching over humanity since we crawled out of the sea. Maybe she's been gotten fed up with humanity and is working with Sutekh, but will change her mind at some point and help the Doctor.

I have a theory. What if Ruby's mother is Hecuba. The Harbinger of Mistro is Henry who I think is Mastro's son. So what if Hecuba, knowing about Sutekh's arrival, placed her daughter at the church so she could bring her in to defeat Sutekh. Hecuba probably has the skill set to defeat Sutekh as she is the queen of time. This would make Ruby an Arbinger as she took the surname of her adopted mother and the name of the road where she was found. Her name would be something beginning with an "H". The second theory builds on the first - but is weaker. What if The Doctor is also a Harbinger of Hecuba. It takes twice the power to remove Sutekh than to summon him perhaps. Theory Three, again partly yours. Sueson was tricked into having a child with and by the Trickster (again a Harbinger) to defeat Sutekh but will be up against The Trickster in the next season. (depending on power level) But Sueson is also Mrs Flood in disguise - perception filter or something. Theory four. Some amalgamation of the three. - I think the first one may be the most likely, it still won't be though -

Ruby was created to stop SuTekh. Her name is Ruby and Sutekh's animal form has a massive ruby on it's head. Ruby was created, she wasn't born and will deliver herself at the Church.

Hey, I think I'm on to something... RTD has talked about a Kind Woman being pivotal to the finale... the cast list credits her as Sian Clifford... Kind being German for Child... Si-An C as in Carole, a as in Anne, Cliff for cliffhanger, Ford... Susan WILL return, and save the day.

I have been saying all along Mrs Flood is good and everyone has been saying, no I'me wrong. I think that video of her comforting Ruby's grandmother proves she is good. You look at the grandmother she doesn't look scared of Mrs Flood. OK she may or not be the Doctors Grandchild, but I reckon she is Ruby's mum and that she gave Ruby up to try and protect her from what was coming and not the Goblins. Maybe she knew Sutekh was coming back somehow and she thought it was the only way to protect Ruby. Remember in the last episode when we saw Ruby's mum pointing at what was thought was the doctor. I think it actually proves she knew Sutekh was coming.

The overnight figures are probably lower on the legend of ruby sunday because since its the first part of the finale more people will watch it at midnight. I haven't watched any of the other episodes at midnight but because it was the start of the finale I did. Also overnight figures could be even lower for empire of death because even more people will watch it at midnight because of the cliffhanger and also because they're showing it at cinemas.

What happens if ruby Sunday? Everyone is focusing on her last name but it’s actually we should keep on her 1st name. Ruby is a stone. She is one going to trap the god.

Glad to hear you calling out the weirdos claiming dw is dying, i will never understand those type of people who are so against inclusion that they pretend to have always been a fan of the show, but the fact the Doctor become black or a woman ruins it for them. This season has been really solid, the only episode i didn't really like was space babies and i'm so excited for the finale and to see where the show will go now that it's returned to form. I'd love to see Jodie return for an anniversary special under a production who actually knows what they're doing with this show so she can prove she really does have the chops to play the Doctor, and that she was not the weakness of Chibnall's era.

Tardis timeline: Key moments happen when A) They first meet Susan Twist and get sent to the void beyond the universe. The Tardis groans for the first time. B) When the Doctor returns from Ruby road the Tardis materializes across the street from where it left. That could be the distance between the two Tardises on Ruby road. Then C) the tape played is the third action that materializes Sutekh. This is still a lot more complicated than this. And I think they will have a multiple crisis situation as each of the Susan Twist characters may be a gate for one of the pantheon.

Viewing figures are meaningless though. Online figures are much stronger.

This has really surprised me regarding viewing figures. I loved The Legend Of Ruby Sunday . Definitely in my opinion the best episode so far!

I assume that low figure is because of Russell encouraging people to watch it as soon as it is released to avoid spoliers.

Other thoughts - Mrs Flood is called Mrs. F which could also be Foreman. She says she hides herself away. Maybe in a fob watch (or a whiskey flask seen when the Tardis rematerializes by her in Ruby road episode. I would guess the memory Tardis is helpful in finding her. They may not give us this - but Susan's mother could be Georgina's character as many have pointed out. Don't know that they will give us parents for the doctor but maybe establish he is a run away god and which one.

Roswell's interesting, one of the Who lore enemies linked to the crash is... The Devil Goblins From Neptune, hmm, devil goblins from an icy planet, soul catching which The Doctor has also done to the beast previously in 'The Taint' but not THE beast so not our Sutekh but still a link... a few bells ringing there, the waro, possible inspiration of goblin legends. And I still think the goblins we've seen having a red-linked singer encouraging their cruelty could be important. The easter eggs this season are epic. The doctor says their memory, and time, are changing- i still think (twists/changes?) time changing could mean Mrs Flood changing like recognizing/not recognizing the TARDIS the same as with the time changes in '73 Yards' and gravity/mavity etc etc, possibly easter egged by sort of linking back to the bootstrap paradox and fourth wall breaks of 'Before the Flood' (The Doctor spoke to us and played the theme tune in that), some bootstrap paradoxes here too where events can happen both before AND after themselves. The eye of harmony at the heart of the TARDIS being the anchor of the actual time line perhaps. Maybe the TARDIS remembers. Definitely a timeline twists aspect to series where good does/ does not win, think of the ruined earth, Roger (Jack) succeeding vs being stopped, the babies being eaten or not by goblins, people disowning Ruby, so maybe Mrs Flood and others are good/evil depending on who is currently winning in this flipping of time (foreshadowed by The Toymaker manipulating and shuffling a deck of cards and mentioning making a jigsaw of The Doctor's time), who has control, think back to The Trickster and Clyde's 'curse' in SJA, I feel this can even impact who lives/dies or exists/ does not exist in these flipped timelines. Or it could be a case of characters trying to fight off the control/possession of Sutekh/ another god like 'Susan' seemed to be when upset. Could also explain the other 'Susan' personas being different shades of good/evil, the mum seemingly being caring towards her daughter vs the possibly somewhat dodgy morally war ambulance, can't help thinking she's there to bring death there, babies left alone, the fake war, children sent away to some kind of ultrafake colony, perhaps engineering situations where people are going to die? But perhaps also trying to fight back and not do Sutekh's dirty work? Ruby's 'mother' (we don't know it is) does give off huge Trickster vibes with the pointing, they change reality, often through a you live but they die bargain with a mortal. And they use babies to set traps which they are now the god of and the time window feels like it could have been part of the trap, Sutekh seeing a way to escape, maybe from a prison the location of UNIT links to, using the window did seem rather consequential.... But the Vlinx/Sphinx as Horus enemy of Sutekh possibility thing kinda has me wondering have the heroes also set a trap of their own? Also the 'it's starting to remember' means the time window could help as well as hinder. .... I do agree that I feel 'Space Babies' was the wrong opener for a new audience, this needed to be a strong 'hook' episode (and probably a bit less weird for an opener) and that was good but not quite that grand arrival. Plus there's not been much time for Doctor/Ruby interaction overall. Still a great series though.

Harriet Arbinger refers to one of the Pantheon of Dischord being Incensor, the God of Disaster. In the latest scene in which Mrs Flood breaks the fourth wall there is a massive storm brewing, a storm can bring disaster, and indeed a flood is a disaster. If, like the Toymaker, Incensor is afraid to face Sutekh directly then perhaps she would hide away and certainly she would know a Tardis when she sees it. Just a thought.

Mad Theory time... Mrs Flood says (something like) "people don't get what they want" when denying Cherry her tea... what other character in Doctor Who has famously often refused to give him what he wants? To again quote Mrs Flood "Never seen a TARDIS before?"... perhaps she wasn't talking about the big blue box, but herself. When Sutekh took over the TARDIS, did he eject it's soul as in The Doctor's Wife (The Doctor : You didn't always take me where I wanted to go. Idris : No, but I always took you where you needed to go.), and it took up residence as Mrs Flood looking over Ruby and waiting for the Doctor to catch up and fix the problem?

My theory for what it’s worth. Mrs Flood is Incensor. As referenced when Sutekh was talking through his Harbinger, She has 2 daughters one of which we’ve met, Ruby. She is dread. As in everyone looking back at her in 43 yards ran away in terror. now wondering if Rose turns out to be the other child……. Doubt! I think it was the Trickster the God of traps first Seen in Sarah Jane adventures that places Ruby at the church

I think the reason sutekh looks different is intentional coz his look is kind of similarl to omegas look with the mask and all, so maybe this is a way to separate the 2 characters design wise perhaps Russel has plans to bring back omega at some point which I'd honestly love to see recently rewatched the three doctors and omega is just such an interesting character with so much potential it seems criminal not to bring him back

I agree with you about not needing to watch it on TV, lately I've been working and not finishing till 6:30 so watching it on BBC iPlayer before working was easier for me to see it without wanting to rush home. Before as I'm day off for this Saturday I've decided I might get some alcohol and watching the finale on BBC one.

Legend of Ruby Sunday was a banger. Boom was a banger. 73 yards was a banger. Devil's Chord was trash. Space Babies was meh. Rogue was meh. Dot and Bubble was OK.

I think The Legend of Ruby Sunday overnight rating was so low due to the previous two weeks (Dot & Bubble and Rogue) not been too great. I know that most people who I follow on social media loved the Rogue episode but literally everyone I've spoken too offline absolutely hated it and said they aren't going to keep watching. Crazy how opinions differ throughout different channels.

Mrs Flood is Jenny, the Doctor’s daughter. She abandoned her own child, at a church on Ruby Road in 2004, but stuck close to keep an eye on her. In 2024, she was initially shocked to see the Doctor’s Tardis, but knew what it was, having seen a Tardis before. So Ruby is either another granddaughter to the Doctor, like Susan, or loses her memory by burning out to summon a memory Tardis and regenerates into Susan Foreman. 15, knowing his first incarnation lived the safest life and needed her in his life, sends her to live with him, knowing that one day, he shall come back, but until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties…

Boom went down because the 2 openers were a bit flat - but then 73 yards increases because of how well Boom went down and all the hype around "the best thing RTD has written".

Re: The ratings I would just direct people to BARB where they can see the bigger picture and draw their own conclusions. When the overnights came in for the first few eps I thought “ooh that doesn’t look good” however when the the full data became available, which is about 2 weeks after broadcast, the reality is a lot less doomy. Consistently in the top 20 most watched programmes or top 10 popularity (where only the highest rated of the multiple edition shows for the week are counted). Taking the highest rated programme for the week as a measure it’s getting a 30-40% audience share. That’s quite a different reality to what the “disaster” posters would have you believe, curiously that additional context is never mentioned in their vids🤔 I guess Doctor Who is performing well for trolls too😂

Yes viewers are down from what they were because there is just more to watch now adays. Anyone can pay £15 a month and have the option of 2500s of tv shows (Netflix) at anytime instead of 6 channels live in the 60s. Even in the 2000s you only had the option of live tv for new shows. This is what people are not understanding. Also look at all the viewing figures of any long lasting show and it'll be just as "bad" or even worse in comparison. And your acting like Millions of people is not a lot... 3.136 million people live in Wales and the viewing figures are for the UK only... The fact Doctor who has more 7 day viewers than the country the show is produced in speaks for itself.

Yeah, the 6:30 slot is weird, I don't know anyone who watches then. The fans who are desperate to see it watch at midnight or as early as they can Saturday morning and the casual people rarely catch it on Saturday night but end up getting around to watching it midweek so who even is watching at 6:30?

Viewing figures…. When I tune in at five o’clock Friday afternoons, I imagine people all over the world are doing the same. Has any other show had an audience as massive? Until the viewing figures reflect this giant wave of watchers, are the “overnight ratings”of bbc in the UK relevant at all?

In North America, game #4 of the Stanley Cup finals was on that night, so many American and Canadian people would have been glued to their sets for that all-important game. And by the way, 🎉 The Edmonton Oilers 🎉 won it by a grand score of 8-1. Seeing that Canada is still a member of the United Kingdom, I have a feeling more people in the UK would be rooting for the Oilers 😅😊

First of all. Love your vids, but I have to put my tuppence in on this one. You went through the viewerships for the episodes and couldn't understand why the views went down before The Legend of Ruby Sunday. The answer is simple, it's the previous episode you forgot to mention... Rogue. That was Not Doctor Who and it was the only episode I turned the TV off before it finished, countless others no doubt did the same.

I'm so glad that you stressed that these viewing figures basically mean nothing considering how the show is set up now. Almost everyone I know (plus the people I know on DW Twitter) stream it right at release but I also know people who decided to simply wait and binge it when the season is complete. I'm relatively certain the ones in charge at the BBC are also aware of this fact. It's just annoying how many bad faith actors are using this as a GOTCHA! moment to claim the show is on its last leg because it's "woke" now or whatever.

I still just don't understand why they tried to rebrand series 14 as "season 1." Doesn't even seem to fit that well as this whole season has felt more like an extension of the 60th anniversary, what with all the references to Susan Foreman, Sutekh's return, etc. Either way Im loving it, but it seems like it was maybe a bad idea to say "hey new viewers! This is a good place for you to start watching!" Because it seems there are plenty of better places to start that.

"we live in an age of streaming." Is that why for every single week, the overnights have been the majority of the views? What a big waffler. The most recent ep got 2.02m ffs. People clearly aren't interested in watching dw anymore, even the lower overnight figures from Moffat's era were higher than these current consolidated ones. Maybe if they didn't focus so much on identity politics and made good TV, they'd be a bit better

Overnight ratings mean nothing now - just look at that 7 day consolidated rating for the first episode, up at 4 million. This is now the average consolidated audience rating for most BBC and ITV dramas these days. Even the long running Casualty doesn't get near 4 million consolidated anymore. Times have changed. RTD said before, the 28 day consolidated figure is more important.
