No doctor would ever say wait because the ER is busy. And all hospitals in the US have x-ray techs 24/7 even if there is no one scheduled at the time she comes in they have someone on call that would have been called in to do an x-ray. She's lying about most of it

I've gotten mildly idiotic advice from nurses but I have yet to be told something as stupid as that from anyone in the medical profession. Seems like a huge liability if something were to go wrong or suddenly get worse. She seems like the type to downplay it on the phone for her own interests though. Considering she can't own up to being an adult and making tough decisions and waiting hours in the ER, she seems like a narcissist.

My kiddo came home from school complaining of a ear ache on a Friday at 4pm. Pediatrician closed already. I rushed my child to urgent care and we waited in the lobby for care. In that time she went from ache to crying in pain. I cannot not even fathom having a child break a bone and not immediately rush the child in for care! I’m literally screaming at my iPad! It’s not beauty contest at the ER you throw on whatever and you go!
@Sara-xk1ns

I’ve had my child break 2 wrists, within 6 months of each other. He didn’t cry either time, he was 8/9, he just matter of factly came in from playing outside the first time and said “mom, my arm is broken.” He explained how he landed on it playing with his friends and we promptly were at the ER minutes later. The second time he was at school during gym class he crashed into the wall and another student. He was in the nurses office calm as could be, said it felt like last time, but the nurse told me she really didn’t think it was broken and he seemed okay. It was lunch period so we decided let him eat lunch for 30 min then come back if it was still hurting. He did, and the second call she said yeah I think it is now…..it was. He is now 14 and I am ALWAYS reminded how I made him stay in school with a broken bone. I know he’s teasing but that eats me up daily. Why didn’t I trust my child? I know those 30 min inlunch with an ice pack didn’t ruin his life, but I know for that time he thought he couldn’t count on me. I couldn’t imagine not taking a child, especially a foster child/adopted child who needs that security and trust and bond to be built. And as for her holiday comment and the ER being full, so what! I took my son in when he was around 4 on thanksgiving day for an ear ache too. He would go from fine, to a pain, to crying inconsolable tears. His ear drums had ruptured multiple times with no warnings of ear infections before. His ear drum was on the brink of rupturing that thanksgiving. My family had no problem waiting for us to eat. I don’t even think it was delayed. My family rallied together and cooked while I was at the ER. Because that’s what family does. I don’t know this lady or what happened but I’m already fuming snd barely in. How do these people think it’s not only acceptable behavior but then think it’s a good idea to put online for all to see? I’d be horrified!

@@Sara-xk1ns I’m so sorry your son got so hurt. And for the guilt you carry. A dear friend once told me to comfort me that only good parents feel the guilt over mistakes real or imagined. And they would have done x rays, put a temp cast on him and given him pain killers. And he could have enjoyed his holiday weekend.

Her blinking becomes rapid because her brain is going into overtime trying to keep her train of thought in the same direction, she's oversharing information and constantly repeating herself to convince her viewer of her story. She also looks down to her left a lot, someone who is lying is using the right hand side of their brain as it's the creative side, so it's story telling. Someone who isn't lying uses the left hand side of their brain as it stores memory. She's constantly giving herself away and showing what a reprehensible human she is.

I was 12 years old when I mangled my hands and spent 6 weeks in constant pain while in my mother refused to take me to get medical care. I ended up with my foster mother and she rushed me to the hospital. Since it was serious, I had to have emergency surgery. They could not give me anesthesia so I was strapped to the Hospital gurney in the OR. They had to pin everything where it should have been while I cried and stayed still. Delay in medical care causes the patient to have to go through more trauma than the accident and that is from my personal experience. If my mother would have gotten me medical care sooner, then they could have reset broken bones and put a cast on my hands. Now, my medical care is in a one stop building so I can go whenever I need to do it. They have x-ray and ultrasound and immediate care and pharmacy and many specialty doctors under one roof. No need to make appointments. It is a walk-in building that is open 24/7. There is no wait. They also have appointments for the well checkups. So she is talking BS.
@LadyGreyAgeingDisGracefully
Hi, operating room nurse here. If you are a “famous” sportsperson and you break a bone they will fix that fracture the day it happens, so that the recovery time is the least as possible. Everyone else waits. The temporary splint they put on is called a back slab. The plaster of Paris is not circumferential. There is a gap in the plaster so that the swelling can increase and decrease without causing damage to the tissues. She obviously waited to see a private practice Orthopaedic surgeon. An ER has orthopaedic doctors oncall 24/7. They at least could have given him the pain relief he needed. Not seeking timely treatment is abuse!

I work in an orthopedic office. Our local ER and clinics do NOT cast. They will splint the break until we can see the patient. Once splinted and after the docs review the XRs (specifically for non-displaced fractures)it is not unheard of to have the patient wait 3-5 days before we cast them. It prevents the patient having to return in a week because their cast is now too loose. Have never heard of any doctor telling a patient (especially a pediatric patient) to wait until the ER is less busy. Broken bones hurt until they are casted. The splint helps but it’s not the same. I cannot imagine someone waiting 30 hours to seek medical treatment for a break.

How she did not immediately take this kid to the hospital 2. seriously no lifting him up with her words to make him feel awesome about himself after she left him in pain for days ( you need to lift up your kids every day but escp in this situation ) and 3. Oh my gosh!! I would let all of my kids sign first - and if the kids had friends over - I would let them sign it first! This is so telling! 😳 😑 😢

My sister broke her arm when she was 5 - now 35. My mum didn’t take her to the doctor for two days. My sister was jumping on the bed and landed funny. She complained it was sore and mum looked her over and squeezed arm etc and my sister barely budged. She kept an eye on her and she went about life as normal. It wasn’t until two days later my sister bought up again that her arm hurt. So she took her in and it ended up it was broken. My mum felt terrible and never made that mistake again.

That’s a very serious fracture. No weight bearing for months. He probably did additional damage in these days and didn’t have pain meds to help him. Just disgusting. And yes. You can get a wheelchair at any drugstore and a hospital will rent one or let you use one too. I doubt they would have let him leave the orthos with zero way to get around.

I think the issue I am having is why they continued having fun when he hurt himself and they continued vlogging. As a parent your whole attention should have been on your hurt child not your vlog. This the amount of grown adults that were at the thanksgiving party why did it take a child to get seriously hurt for an adult to say they should stop jumping from a 14ft drop and I am 99% sure that the children decided to stop when Logan got hurt instead of an adult telling them to stop. The next part of my issue is they still proceeded to put up their Christmas decorations when their child was in pain. They couldn’t have put the decoration after their child’s foot is seen by a doctor. I don’t know why we are shocked by this they have proved time and time again that their parenting is questionable are we forgetting these are the same parents that film their children straight after they have car accidents and pretend they are in a telenovela by slow motioning their hugs but she kept her husband crashing he car a secret until people started noticing she got a new car. These parents are disgusting yes they provide homes for their children and put food on their table but they are raising useless kids who think RU-vid is going to get them through life.

When I was 10 I broke my foot at school & my mom was convinced I was faking it because I “wanted” crutches… for SEVEN DAYS I walked around limping in pain, foot was black & blue & swollen. She said if it was broke I wouldn’t be able to walk at all on it, even though I was clearly limping! So I finally complained to the school nurse enough that she called my mom saying I HAD to be taken in.. my mom finally brought me, saying if my foot wasn’t broken & if I was making this all up for attention I was going to be grounded (which terrified me because I was in pain but I didn’t have damn X-ray vision so I didn’t know for sure) but guess what! It was fractured in 3 places! When the doctor put the X-ray up I was like “HA! I TOLD YOU!!” & proceeded to tell the doctor how my mom, who by the way is an RN, didn’t believe me for 7 days & she just played it off how I always exaggerate about things & yada yada.. we’re cool about it now but I always tell that story & she always gets annoyed & rolls her eyes & says “oh it was not 7 days..” because I always exaggerate ya know 😅

When I was young I had fallen up our tile stairs, the way I fell caused my front teeth but literally smashed into my face causing them to break into my gums. My mom literally rushed me to the hospital without pants on (nightgown only as it was bedtime) and had to wait over 13 hours in hospital for a specialist to be brought in from another city. Even though the wait wasn't our fault the wait caused complications, I literally didn't get my adult front teeth until I was almost in highschool due to the trauma caused by it.

When you go to the ER, if you need to see a specific type of doctor, they will have one on staff for you to see. It may not be the one you'd typically chose to see but they will have one. I learned this when my uncle broke his arm at 2am and was rushed to the ER.
@emmmceee
@emmmceee Год назад
She has absolutely no excuse for not IMMEDIATELY taking him to the ER for an x-ray and immobilization. That is ABSURD! In the ER he would have had x-rays, splint, possible pain control and the orthopedic MD on call would have decided if emergency surgery was needed. If so, he would have been admitted and surgery would have been performed -or- they would have put him in a room, gotten the swelling under control and then taken him to surgery. If it was not bad enough for orthopedic surgery, he would have been immobilized with a splint and told to follow-up with his orthopedic MD. Hospitals (at least here) do not apply casts. If the orthopedic he saw after being discharged from the ER determined surgery was needed, based on the original x-rays and more current x-rays and/or additional scans0),he would be scheduled for surgery -or-if non-surgical, casted. In many cases there is too much swelling several hours to days after the injury for any type of casting, surgery, or accurate x-rays & scans.THAT’S WHY SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE WAITED 36 HOURS BEFORE GETTING AN X-RAY AND HAVING THE FRACTURED TIBIA IMMOBILIZED WITH A SPLINT…THAT’S COMMON SENSE!!! Best case scenario, there is no fracture and they are sent home. She’s posting all this crap and these nonsensical lies and excuses for medical mismanagement of her “child”…where is Child Protective Services?

I broke my leg... Couldn't go to the ER because the kids were sleeping and it was midnight (we lost my spouse right before Christmas and I'm on my own) and I didn't want to wake the kids up. I went the next afternoon to the ER after I got the kids to school. I went to the ER and it's broken and the hospitals in the US do not cast In hospital and send to the you to the orthopedic surgeon. I called a the places withing 50 MILES!! 50 MILES!! and couldn't get an appointment for over 2 weeks and I needed surgery. They didn't care it was broken and I sat unseen for over 2 weeks. The hospitals do nothing here in the US besides temporary cast. Edit to add... It may be different with kids. some of the doctors were a month out... That being said I'm on Medicaid since I'm unable to work as I'm fighting cancer so maybe it was because I didn't good insurance. If I had money I'm sure I would be in that day with my kid. IDC if I had to drive 500 miles. She NEVER should have waited a day for a kid. As Far as the orthopedic surgeons they just didn't give a crap when I called and it took weeks.

You cannot get into a doctor right away. I had to wait 3 months for a podiatrist for a foot I couldn't put any pressure on. I went to my regular doctor who told me to go to a podiatrist. He told me it wouldn't help to go to the ER. So finally get to the podiatrist. 6 weeks later I woke up, day after Thanksgiving and was screaming to walk. I called podiatrist. Couldn't get me in. They told me it wouldn't help to go to the ER. I had to wait 10 days for a MRI. 5 days later ( today) and still no call from the doctor. I am in so much pain.

Um emergency rooms have specialist such as orthopedics on call for emergencies such as this, X-ray and ultrasound technicians are there 24/7 because it is a hospital! But she is correct on the casting not taking place for a few days due to the swelling that does occur with fractures and breaks but what they do in the meantime is splint it to keep it still to avoid further damage.
