Speaking from my experience, kids with a trauma background will often agree to anything. They want acceptance so much that they are super tuned in to what the other person wants from them. I once walked around a shop with my child who had a gift voucher, she kept asking ‘what do you want me to buy?’ Anytime she joins a new group she takes on the characteristics of the new group. I’m 100% sure that if she was fostered by a vlogging family, she’d let them film her regardless of what she really wanted. Her need for acceptance is what drives nearly all of her decision making.

Very true. That being said, I'm sure you don't provide a perfect life for your child either. I had amazing parents growing up, but there is a lot about the way they parented me that impacted me in a very negative way because I just had different needs than most children. At the end of the day, what matters most is love. As far as we know, they are very loving parents and don't force their kids to do anything. Do they exploit them for financial gain so they can provide a better life for them? Sure.
@Sarah-hc6mt
@Sarah-hc6mt 2 года назад
CJB 33 I agree, parents have to realise that children with a trauma background usually have more complex needs. You’re also correct in saying I don’t provide a perfect life for my children, but I do protect and guide them to the best of my ability and my commonsense tells me that sharing their lives on a world wide platform is not healthy.

The scary thing is that Crystal vlogged outside her daughter Halies work(large famous department store) , they filmed outside the building so viewers knew which one it was, they then drive to where she parked her car this is in the evening when it's dark outside and said "ohh you can tell its definitely her one because she has sparkles on her plate". So they have basically shown every sikko out there exactly where they can find their teen daughter and where she parks late at night and exactly how to distinguish her car from similar cars🤯 what is wrong with these people 😩 have some serious thought for your child's safety!!! Thankfully the daughter no longer works there or I would not be pointing out this online for strangers to attempt to find her. This is very dangerous behaviour from this family. They vlog outside the school building their children go to, they film on their street but think that by covering up the house number keeps them anonymous hides where they live 🤦🏻‍♀️. Super dangerous and no regard for the safety of the children in their care😢

As an adopted person with trauma I agree wholeheartedly. Structure is so freeing. My weekdays are amazing and beautiful going to work planning to clean up then eating dinner showering and going to bed. I hate the weekends. If I have no plans and no one lined up to hangout with I lose my mind. Moving out on my own has been so hard but having a full time job and scheduled calls to family back home keeps me sane. I love the line of work I’m in which is why I stay where I am, but “free range” living/ parenting would never have worked for me. I become depressed and spiral. It brings back memories of neglect and abandonment. When I lived at home my parents always had a schedule for me to do and stay on track. Sometimes in the summer it would just be “go swimming @2:00” my mom would get home and ask how my swim was. Know that’s there was a plan and someone cared means more to me than anything. They would never leave me in my conflicts to just “figure it out” on my own. My mom asks me about my work drama today and she will PRY but I love that. If she thinks anything is happening we will be on the phone for hours discussing what happened how to approach what may happen and so much more. (I doubt anyone will read this much, but it just hurts to see this kids with similar backstories and the parents they get don’t care.) it’s hard to go from a neglectful environment to a chaotic one where even though you’re not technically neglected you’re not getting the attention you need.

As a child from a low income family, when we would go eat at restaurants I would always make sure I would get cheap food even though my family never said to. Twist that the other way. If you knew that your face on a camera made money for your family and for you to have nice things 💯 a child would. Sorry. You don’t have to outright say it. It’s implied. Especially when it comes to kids with trauma ( as I am one of them) you are always looking at your environment on a microscopic level so see if there is a threat. This is so sad.

I have two tween daughters and I struggle with them going out into the world… as they’re going to want to do more as they grow up. I worry a lot about who they may be exposed to. In a single crowd there are going to be evil people who would hurt them if given the chance. Imagining opening my home up, taking these people on an all-access tour into my girls lives, TERRIFIES ME. No amount of money would be worth the amount of anxiety I’d have and I would never put their safety in question that way. These mothers are either living in denial and have convinced themselves that it’s not unsafe what they are doing, or they are on heavy medication. Famous actors can make millions with a single photo of their child. But 99.9% of them fiercely fight against their kids being exposed in a public way. They go to court to protect their privacy. Anyone with two brain cells understands why. How do these Vlogs not see the dangers? Its scary.

My adoptive daughter will have the power to share her story because it is not my story to tell, if she choses to. I work with an amazing foster care company that works with traumatized children. They are amazing. No screens or imaging is allowed anywhere near these children for any reason. There is no seeking of permission because you will lose your job. No photographs are taken, no names are shared outside of the house. No stories are shared at all with anybody EVER. That is how we SERVE the orphans and children. You’re supposed to serve them, not exploit them and profit from their basic human needs and very existence. That’s more in alignment with the followers of Ba’Al and Moloch in the old testament of their “Bibles”.

I think the word you are looking for with "cloaked coercian" is simply manipulation. The manipulator doesn't necessarily need to be aware what they do is manipulative for the target to feel the effect. Like maybe they don't plan to manipulate kids onto camera but when they say "sorry can't hang out with you right now, Kid 18. I am busy making videos with the others". That kid gets left out and realizes the only way to be involved or get positive interactions with the foster parent is to do the videos, so they agree to it when they don't want to.

They often go on breaks, they do this so they can have a rest from vlogging, spend quality time with the family, and keep mentally healthy. Not all kids moved out at 18, Destiny moved out in her twenties. Also the fact that they move into biological homes shows how much the Crazy middle respect and keep a good relationship with the biological families. Tbh if you were in a house with 15 people a lot of them being much younger and much crazier, you would probably want to move out quickly so that you can have you own personal space and privacy. Cody, Spencer, Kylie and Lacey are always coming round to visit and Spencer has currently moved back for a little while. They never lose contact with their kids.

To try and bond with those kids and actually get to know them when older kids often don't open up easily and you have 13 others to take care of I just don't see how it is possible.

I am in no way a perfect person or parent… I used to post my daughter FREQUENTLY on fb and ig when she was first born… but these types of videos opened my eyes to how wrong and risky that is and I chose to put my daughter and her safety and privacy above all else. My friends and family can see her but I no longer use her in any way financially, not even to show off items I make myself by hand. These pages are sick. These children cannot consent.
@thespaventi
@thespaventi 2 года назад
Also I am curious on peoples opinions about babies/children being used to advertise for small businesses. For example- when I was actively working on my small business I would offer free or heavily discounted products in exchange for photos of children to use for advertising or product listings… what are opinions on that? Should I not be using photos of children in products that their parents send me? Also, I wonder if acting laws are the same as modeling laws for children? Like I wonder if posting videos about kids is/will be considered different than photos/editorials of kids? I know I’m playing both sides of the fence but that’s because I am a mother who wants to respect my daughters privacy but I also want to work on building a business but how do I do that without exploiting children?

Weston’s brother Spenser moved out recently . Lacy moved out as soon as she graduated and does RU-vid also-and then her sister Elizabeth also moved out to live with her Aunt when she graduated she said she is learning a lot of life skills that she didn’t know while living with Shelly & Jared. She shared that in a car video with Lacy. When Lacy first moved out they let one of the adopted sisters move out too Cynthia....she has since then moved back home they mentioned to focus more on school. I don’t get why you would let a minor move out that is still in school.......Lacy became pregnant, I don’t know if that had anything to do with it. Another adopted son Harlon is also moving out to live with his biological dad. Seems like a lot of children are ready to leave as soon as they can. There’s a lot that really bothers me with both family’s.....they have actually talked about kids with food hoarding tendency’s by name.....One in particular that Crystal mentioned was Brody .....just like you said: Kids are cruel in school. If something goes missing they may blame him or make fun of him. He is way to young to even understand the effects that this will have on him. I sure wouldn’t want anyone to no my past. It would be like reliving it over and over. They even talk about the kids showing up with their things in a garbage bag. They leave nothing for the imagination. You talked about the mental stuff that goes along with being in a family with so many children & lacking personal attention. Crystals biological daughter was away seeking help for depression and anxiety......she later did a video with her (Hailie) about the experience. When you watch the videos you can see how distant some of the children are. Kids dancing on Q’ is definitely planned. I thought Mormons dress attire was suppose to be very modest. Crystals girls wear very (EXTREMELY) short shorts. Last few videos I watched really bothered me the Disney trip.....and one trip to the dentist the T-Shirt was longer than shorts looked like she was in panties. They wear belly shirts and form fitting everything. There are so many sick twisted people watching that could pose a danger. When they were living in Saint Johns they had to call the cops several times because of trespassers. I’m glad that you are making them aware of what they are doing, especially since you shared Westons post.....I felt sorry for him wishing that he hadn’t made the videos... I watched them drink the nasty food mix drinks and other crazy challenges that they had the kids to do to probably drive up views. These kids don’t want to say no to their adopted parents. They’ve come from trauma so they try to avoid all conflict. It is very sad.🥲

I truly wish ALL the viewers out there would watch your channel, especially, this particular video. There are plenty of those viewers who are extremely naive when it comes to these family channels. Most people take the videos as WOW, these families are incredibly loving, get along so well, they're ALWAYS smiling, etc... I'm sure the majority has no idea that Melinda & Isaac got married several months ago & got divorced shortly thereafter. Crystal didn't want to taint her "perfect family" image, so she made sure there weren't any signs of the wedding on the internet. However, one of the kids ( I won't say who.) videoed it and posted it on Instagram. Once, Crystal found out she had it removed instantly.
