i use my zillion stitches all the time! im a mess at free motion and any project too big is too heavy (osteoporosis) decorative stitches make everything doable--and fun! love your tutes. thanks for being a great teacher.
@SewVeryEasy Laura~ I absolutely adore this quilt pattern! Using the decorative stitches on the quilt really makes it stunningly beautiful! You're are an equally gifted creator, sewist, and teacher. Your detailed instructions and extra tips/techniques are always so thoroughly comprehensive, I feel empowered and joyful when I sit down to sew! Thank you so much! ~~Christy~~
I never thought to sew that way. I really enjoyed your directions. I enjoy quilting and sewing I have done many items and sold them and people like the items when they are totally different. thanks Blanche
Wow! These fabrics have my granddaughter's name written all over them! This is such a lovely, happy quilt, Laura :-) I think it's my favorite of all the quilts you've presented to us! Thank you so much for sharing yet another helpful and inspiring project!
Your quilt is amazing! Excellent way to see all the embroidery stitches together in one area. Thank you so much for all your videos. I have learned so much from them and look forward to future videos.
What a great idea to use your stitches. I have over 200 on my machine and well just seem to use a few so this quilt is on my must do list put at the top.And that fabric range is stunning as well as the one on the wall behind you. I so enjoy your video's and have learnt a lot from watching you. SO please keep them coming
Beautiful ! Had thought crazy quilts were all wild, big and small, very random (and very time consuming) but now I see how it can be so much easuer. Thank you so mych. I've been working on a crazy quilt over 2 years & it has gotten to be a chore, more than fun. Wish I had seen your channel long ago!
That’s a gorgeous quilt 🧵 I love the way it turned out and that you can change the pattern by turning the blocks that’s so awesome 👍🏼 I wish I was able to do one but I have to start with a easier pattern 1st ..... but thank you for sharing this gorgeous quilt with us 😍
I love your teaching style😍. Thank you for sharing your talent and skill with us all. This idea is fabulous🤗!!! Playing with the layouts looks fun too!
beautiful! I'm new at quilting, and just found your channel, and really like how you explain the process in such an easy way! look forward to learn more from you! thanks☺
Laura.....what a beautiful quilt, I love watching your video's, you make everything look so easy, sending best wishes & love to you from across the pond x
I just had to add this to my list :) Pretty stitches and soft colors make a perfect "girlie" quilt. May take a bit for me to collect what's needed...but something to work towards. Can't imagine how I missed this one lol
I love watching your videos, you show and explain things so clearly. I have made many things but never a quilt but having watched the video I might give it a try. I am so new to quilt making I have a question that may seem daft so I apologise but the finished quilt in the video do you have to do anything to the edges and do you have to attach it to somthing as it will be thin to touch n feel, do hope you can understand what i trying to say. Thank you😀
Laura, I love your tutorials, you have a natural way of communicating the instructions. I just discovered them this morning, watching your wedge pillow tutorial. I do find myself rushing to the end to see the final result, would it be possible to show that at the beginning so I would have an idea of the end result while I'm following the directions?
Laura, thank you for a beautiful quilt! I'd like to try your method, although I'm very new to piecing, etc. My question is, when you add the wash away stabilizer, does it matter which side you place against the fabric? I like the idea of using the stabilizer so that the curved top is nicely and neatly finished!
I love all of ur work and I love the way u explain everything in such a sufficient manner💕🌟💕 Do u hold any classes? I live in LA All of ur projects are beautiful 🌹 Thank u,
I see that your thread is Dual Duty by Coats. I can't read the spool in video and I know that Coats has several Dual Duty threads, can you share the exact thread you are using. I'm making a shabby chic quilt now would love to try my hand at embellishing. Thank you kindly.
Laura, I have a lot of fan pierces I inherited from my best friends grandma. I finally know how i can use them. Thank you so much!!! My only question is, what type of stabilizer did u use in this video? Stabilizer, interfacing, and the such is my weakness. Could u help me please? Thanks, Talena
Have tried several of Laura’s quilts and all worked really well but this one does not align up if you try and reverse the fan square, ie as in snake form. I have 42 squares at six and a half inches. When sewing together if you just keep 4 squares as a circle the arcs match perfectly but if you try and reverse one to go the other way, as a curve like a snake, the arc does not line up, yet in the video all yours match up whichever way you place them. How have you done that. Janet Lyons
the fan squares must me the same size and the curve in the same spot. But if doesn't match up that is fine, t will still look amazing and many Fan Quilts do not match:) thanks for asking
Laura, I have to say I have always thought the fan quilt was beautiful but looked hard to complete. Love the way you make this look simple to accomplish! What are the dimensions of this quilt & how much fabric is needed to complete this beautiful quilt? Love the idea to use so many fancy stitches!! Thank you :-D
I glad you like it. The body of the quilt is 36" x 42" with 7 rows 6 blocks each row. ( without borders) I used 8 fq. and two yds of white, thanks for asking
