Ya except everything Ryan said or did looked totally forced, out of place and morbidly cringy same as how he Cringfests in all movies that would have done better with Chris Pratt or someone with similar or better talent.
I love the fact that Jacob, as soon as he knows that that guy is David Lindhagen, goes straight to punch him in the face, to avenge his friend, even when his friend is mad at him.
the way he drops the windmill is hilarious. I mean Bernie and his wife knew Emily cheated on Cal with David Lindhagen, Bernie just never saw this David guy... Until now.
This is, bar none, one of the funniest scenes ever. Jacob’s laugh/smirk is perfect. It makes you wonder how much was scripted, how much was improvised. It gets better every time I see it. An absolute classic.
@@francescatrowbridge231 I read a comment on another clip that said it wasn't scripted, Ryan just couldn't help laughing and the director kept it in the film...classic.
@@tubularbells0677I won't be surprised because this is how he laughs in real life - with his palm across his mouth. Most times I've seen him anyway. Plus the laugh looks so natural 😅
Well he doesn't hate him. He just knows what kind of guy he is up to that point and doesn't think he's good enough for his little girl. I think many dads would react the same in this situation.
@@christinadoxstader1787 maybe. But I would also know that Jacob with all of his faults, is a man with game that has his shit together. Plus he’s not easily intimidated by people, especially women
I love how Jessica never tried to lie and defended Cal all the time, even though it must've been so embarrassing for her to say all that in front of her father and Cal and his family. She's so mature.
@@thematthewpatrickshow9598 c'mon, she's a teen and he was divorced(separated? don't remember) Don't judge her too hard, she did what most teens wouldn't do(admitted her mistakes, instead of blaming other party, most would play dumb)
This is probably one of the most memorable scenes in history. It is a mix of comedy and dramatic elements which make this a really good piece of cinematography..
I hardly hardly doubt that, this is a very very cliche type of writing for a scene where u jus bring everyone in the end and mix them up for twist revelations one after the next. I mean u r talking extreme cliche writing here, and extreme cliche writing will NEVER be part of most memorable scenes in history. Maybe for u coz it excited u so u make hyperbole statements but thats jus in ur own world not outside it. So maybe most memorable scenes in YOUR mind but this is garbage compared against ALL scenes.
@@roseolivas08 no its just means you don't have the capacity to understand what I wrote or u just haven't watched many movies therefore this scene to probably feels "awesome" it's like a baby that u peek a boo, to him it's exciting coz he knows nothin.
Janna Sala it wasn’t intentional! It’s just like how the directors of Pretty Woman put the scene where Richard Gere closed the jewelry box on Julia Roberts hand and when Jennifer Grey kept laughing during Hungry Eyes in Dirty Dancing! 😊
I definitely think it wasn’t intentional and they kept it in. I think it was a blooper. Anytime you see Ryan breaking in comedic skits or on talk shows his giggle is like this.
Queen LeLe Yeah! It was good. It had some cheesy parts but those were used so well and the movie wasn't like any other typical rom coms. It was a good ass movie the first time I saw it and even to this day
This was the worst romantic comedy I've ever watched in my life this movie is overrated Steve carell was an unlikeable character even though I like Ryan gosling sucks and this movie was a crock of s***
Chandler Sun TLDR: Ryan Goslings character is somewhat of a professional womanizer and Steve Carrell meets (and befriends) him for the sake of being teached to be more attractive to women and ultimately to refuel the fire in his marriage and save his family. And during the movie Gosling starts dating Emma Stone but with her he starts to develop real feelings. Kevin Bacon is a co worker of Julian Moore and the guy she was having an affair with (which Steve Carrell finds out) and then there is the young babysitter who is in love with steve carrell but can't tell anyone because of the age gap (oh and Steves son is in love with her btw and can't tell anyone because of the age gap). In this very suprising twist it turned out Emma Stone is actually Steve Carrells oldest daughter and the realization that his daughter is dating a womanizer causes his shocked reaction. And then literally everyone involved in any relationship drama within the movie appeares one after the other to form this beautiful scene. The best part about it is that Ryan Gosling instantly took off his ring to punch the Bacon that slept with his best friends wife. Not really a tldr but it would be hard to make it even shorter...such a good plot now that I think back on it
I love how at 2:52 when the all the men grab onto Ryan Gosling’s character he kinda just stands there unmoving for a second, like he’s not even being dragged down by these three grown ass men
That was one of my favorite parts in the whole movie. I absolutely love the way he laughs its the most adorable thing ever and I rewinded to that part at least 10 times the first time I watched this movie
+Steal The Reel yeah, these scene was just too fucking funny hahaha. I rarely cry from laughter from movies these days but when this shit unfolded, i couldnt stop laughing
and guess which movie my girlfriend didnt give two shits about... THIS FILM.. THIS FUCKING AMAZING ROMANTIC COMEDY... SHE LIKED FIFTY SHADES, BUT COULDNT GET THROUGH THIS.. I MEA- calm down.. calm down...
Jacob laughing at 3:25 makes me crack up every time. You think all the funny parts are over, everything is calm, and just that little smirk is all it takes to bring it all back!
I have watched this scene, legit, about 30-40 times and it still cracks me up !! It’s comedy gold how everything happened so well timed out. Including the twist with Cal’s daughter, “Nanna”.
2:32 Ryan is the BRO of all time. Just, Oh, well, time to take care of Bro business for my boi kal even though shit is insane right now, jsut goes straight into Wingman mode. Such a god.
I think that's his bro version of 'hold my drink', and I love that even though he knows he's in deep shit with Cal he'll still go to the mattresses for him
I keep coming back to watch this, it seems to never get old….the timing and tieing everything in, from the sigh, to whose Nana, to “him?” Lindhagen showing up at the perfect moment, “ what are you grabbing?” Taking off the ring, the time out…it was masterful…..and let’s not forget Marisa Tomei’s wonderful performance..that was funny too! Great movie!
My husband and I were visiting my family and dipped out for a bit. We got back late and weren’t tired so we popped this movie in thinking we’d get sleepy while watching and, nope. The entire house is asleep and we’re dying at this scene, crying and muffling our laughter with pillows. Great flick!
I watched this for the first time like okay, background movie, I was laughing throughout and in this scene I was busting up. Love this movie. Glad you and your husband could keep it muffled. Also know I can watch it and laugh.
okay but this whole scene sequence never left my mind ever since I watched the movie for the first time, it was the best plot twist I've seen. Then rewatched it again for sometime, still the best. Its iconic it never gets old ps. JOEY KING IS SOOO ADORABLE IN HERE!!
The best is at 2:06, Julianne Moore's face and the "Ohhhh" when she finally puts it all together. This scene is brilliant and you never see it coming the first time you watch the movie.
This scene is one of the times I've laughed the most in a movie theater. There's a specific rythim to this types of comedy scenes and here it works insanely well.
This is one of my if not THE favourite romcoms of all time. If Ryan Gosling's giggle was acted at the end he is next level acting. It looks so real and I feel like he couldn't keep it together and they just left it in the movie. Lucky us 😅 And Steve Carell is one of my favourite comedians because he can be funny but also emotional. The way he looks at his wife in this movie makes you really believe he loves her.
Ryan Gosling's reactions throughout this entire scene absolutely made this movie lmao he should do more comedies 0:30 0:36 1:28 2:17 3:06 "Oh my god, what are you _grabbing_ ?"
I love how three grown men are all trying to wrestle Ryan Gosling down and Ryan is just standing there like, “what are you doing?” So subtle, but hilarious.
The moment when Jacob goes to punch David immediately when he learns who he is to avange Cal even tho Cal hates him at that moment... Perfect. That scene is everything.
This still makes me laugh every time I see it, it has to be one of the best comedic group scenes in the history of films... Jacob stands up for his friend Cal despite what was going on, that’s friendship...I would love to see the outtakes on this...
