I've owned an mt-09 and currently an MT-10, honestly the 09 is more fun. Shorter gears means more shifting, and at street legal speeds, both are about the same quickness
I have a few bikes, all under 100 hp and all heavily modded, but I would consider myself above average ability. I’m feeling like this is the bike I need to jump to the next level with. ?? Does it catch you off guard often ? Or is it nuts but controllable ??
It’s nuts… but the electronics make it controllable. That, or you can just turn it off like most of us do and take your time learning its tendencies. It’s A BLAST TO RIDE, and I’m coming from a 4th gen zx10r
What bikes do you suggest for a beginner ? I had dirtbikes, scooters and all this kind of stuff like 10 years ago. I want an MT09 so bad but im aware that it’s probably not the best first bike
I got a duke 390 8 months ago as my first bike and just got a 2014 fz09. I promise you starting with an fz09 is the wrong choice. In retrospect i probably would have lived if i started with a 600ish bike, but i have laid it down, and I'm glad it was on a cheaper lighter slower 3-400cc bike. Imo if money is a real issue start on a 600ish and be really gentle. Otherwise go lower cc and make that bike your bish then upgrade
Thing has so much torque, and feels super powerful, but it absolutely sucks riding fast on it, wind blast galore and the front wobbles like hell. Nonetheless, super fun bike for what it is
I love how this bike looks and I know it doesn’t have a crazy top speed but to be fair how often you go beyond 220kmph?! Just the point that its a twin cylinder makes it a nah
Hey just got a gen 1 MT-09, any tips on how to go faster and deal with the wind? I get to about 85mph and I get nervous going any faster but I see your doing just fine.
Boy... that front end looks twitchy!! Have the same bike, love it!! Putting a hyperpro damper on it!! Going to hook up with vcycle for an exhaust an flash. Can't wait!! Ride safe
Had my 23' MT-09SP flashed by Vcyclenut along with DNA Stg2 filter lid and Black Widow low mount exhaust. Its like a whole new bike, its fricken rowdy! Big power improvement and powerband. The awful 2nd gear power restriction is gone, its fantastic!
How are you shifting without pressing in clutch or letting throttle go? Nice ride btw I just started on a rebel but am already looking at the mt07 or the 09
