It's entirely possible although more difficult, the best option in my opinion is the lens assisted Optical snoot to get as close to a perfect circle as needs.
If I understand your question, no. A dark room just helps your modeling light to be more effective. Then, the power you set your strobe will depend on your aperture and it's output power.
Looks great! May i ask how do you get the perfect red circle since your snoot is not laying in the centre 🤔 isnt it became oval shape instead of round circle?thank you
