This is exactly how it looked like to us when we first saw the first release of the counter strike global offensive after playing billions of hours in counter strike 1.6
while 3d assets are a big part of a game, and 3d designers do a lot of work, there is entire other half of the game you are shitting on with this video. Game mechanics, the game engine, physics, a lot of shit that you can't quickly see and say ooh wow. @@okoyl3
Although this looks amazing, this is something only casuals will enjoy, cs go is an amazing game, it doesn't need to look better than all the new games, looks wise, nothing has to change, I already don't like maps that have been updated visually like Nuke, Vertigo and others, this would be way too much
@@USDinline their are definitely valid improvements and reasons why a new counter strike is needed. The source code for counter strike is publicly available which is the reason why you see the disgusting cheating problem in the game. A new cs could bring a brand new anti cheat and could even bring better mechanics. Everyone felt that 1.6 couldn’t be beat, then source couldn’t be beat but now we have csgo. Who’s to say their isn’t parts of the mechanics that could become even more satisfactory with new game design.
this video is really underrated... cant even begin to grasp the time and effort that you and your team must have put into making this...even with quixel making your jobs alot easier it still is a very tedious process and its absolutely incredible to see what u guys finally ended up with...
hmmm i wonder if there's one for doom. probably yes but... if not, i could probably get that arranged. [edit] i kinda found one... but it's terrible. off-scale (SMALLER than the original. really? it should be bigger if anything, to account for the 56mph run speed) and badly made.
I come back to this video periodically and by the end of it I always find myself mesmerized by the level of attention to detail that goes into this scene.
Alejandro Rivas This would suck as an actual map. The visibility is garbage and frames would be awful, scaring away a big portion of the playerbase, low-spec users
@@oceaniiii of course, but that wasn't my point. My point was that as time has progressed, source has proven to be a finnicky engine at best. When compared to other engines, such as unreal 4, cryengine, fox engine, even source 2; source's graphical capabilities are pretty poor, especially in lighting. What source does better than anyone else of course, is handle multiple physics objects in real time. If valve ever follows through and ports the game to source 2, or releases a new cs it would be a godsend
It's really well optimized. That's why Valve keeps using it. @John Wick I guess so. It still makes sense for Valve to use Source for 1. They don't have to pay other companies for using Unreal and 2. It makes sense to use a less demanding engine for a game like this.
Albert Pavlas it’s just as optimized as UE4. The hitch with source and source 2 is that they both are far behind in graphical technology. So no they aren’t amazingly optimized. They just lack modern tech that’s tougher to run.
when the video came out I didn't really know anything about 3D modeling and stuff and I was impressed a lot, now I am even more impressed as I know how this works and that you got a good ammount of experience using Maya which takes multiple months just to learn a lot of basics (as the learning process is preety much just videos and trial and error). My first ever project took me 3 weeks to do at first (+300 hours), than I got corrupted files and took me 2 days to recreate with the knowledge I acquired (arround 43 hours + another 5 hours to finish everything up)
Hey Quixel, kindly do a tutorial on Lighting in UE4, because no matter how good your assets or textures are, lighting plays the 90% part in final results.
Hes just using a better engine ue4. I'm making a game on ue4 also. They started uploading real life photos for textures. That's what the new mw cod game used.
@Nobel Tv dude you serious? this map would only run on 480p and below, wtf is 1440p? i've only known 144 to 720, and 720 is REALLY hard to run on modern day systems
QuestionGaming that’s not true, open GTA on 8GB RAM,16GB RAM, 32GB RAM,64GB RAM, you will 100% notice a difference and Ram isn’t meant for looking at it’s meant to help run games
Hello people, I have a game test channel with different video cards, if you can pass it I would appreciate it very much and if you leave me any constructive comments, thank you
@Darkmare Nah, everything runs like shit even on the most expensive cards, mostly because the optimization and programming these days SUUUCKKKS. Considering stuff like uncharted can run smoothly on a toaster like the PS4 (as much as i hate consoles), there's no reason games that look as good won't be able to pull off the same framerate on stronger computers (and any computer is stronger than a PS4 at this point unless you pulled it out of a garbage bin). Shadow of the tomb raider running on Ryzen 5 5600x and RTX 3070, on the lowest presets at just 1080p will dip into 150fps and even lower, on highest preset it will dip as low as 100 fps, and again, that's on an pretty expensive card, at mere 1080p. So you ALREADY can't use a 120-144hz screen with that despite a decent setup without compromising on quality. At 4k, where you're probably only expected to play at 60fps you are dipping into 80fps on lowest (and who the HELL plays 4k on lowest anyway), and dipping under 58fps on highest. In COD warzone you'll be dipping under 50fps in 4k both on min and max settings, on 2k, you'll still be dipping under 60 both on min and max. GTA5 on 4k, ultra will dip under 50, even 2k will dip under 80. So yeah, again, almost all the major titles in the last 5-10 years are HORRIBLY performing and optimized. Unless i guess you're the type that doesn't mind playing at 30-100 fps with constant jumps, stutters and all that shit, which i personally despise, probably the reason i don't play anything new for like five+ years now
@@JakeyF_ And I thought a joke is supposed to fun, but when the joke is forced from literally everything its not fun anymore. This guy just tries to be funny.
Valve is one of the last good companies, they never remove because of copyright. They even enabled porn on their shop because they didn't want to infringe on the creativity of developers. Don't talk shit bout valve.
@Potato Missing Wait what? Valve is one of the worst companies. For years they have tried to control the video game industry with an iron fist with their steam store. Expecting companies to greatly slash their prices in order to fulfil the dream of steams sales, but cutting into the profits of a lot of these companies, and inevitably hurting the industry in doing so. Sure they were providing a lot of what the consumer wanted, which is lower prices, but companies cannot make profits on a game that costed millions of dollars to make and the average consumer simply "waits" until the steam sale to buy the game for 20$. It is also because of this that microtransactions have evolved so rapidly. People were tired of paying extra money for "DLC" or parts of the game that should have been in the game on release, so the companies had to revert to microtransactions to make any money at all.
@@samvortex2802 not everyone can afford a expensive high end pc to run this dude, nothing really funny about saying "at least update it". Promote positivity and make someones day better :)
Darquen (i’m going to reffed to this as a game even though it’s not) mate someone wants to see this game playable. if you want to still play CS:GO, it’s as simple as quitting this game and opening it, it’s not like everyone can’t play this game, and there are many people that could probably do so. that’s like a new COD coming out and you saying “come on devs, what about the dude on his 2000 dell latitude?”
Jason, because CSGO runs on the source engine and havoc physics, so changing the engine of the game would completely mess up how the shooting, aiming, jumping, and running would work.
@@rafadelblanco7760 you can make a CSGO game in unreal engine 4 easy. I mean , it's not like you're going to make your player jump on walls and stuff.. it's just a simple fps game with crouch jump and aim 😅. (The hardest part is... making the game online)
Really??? Cmon thats a old computer, Not even a i9 extreme woth 18 cores? And not even dual rtx 2080ti's and 128 gb of ram with the processor and the graphics carr water cooled?
@@payrimdwein9082 The main blocks are bsp meshes on cs:go, you can export them easily, but you can't export the props tho, still they're not needed in that case, for the displacement just destroy them and keep the original bsp mesh.
Izzy Oldman don’t think he tried to get bold on the smile part since it’s showing an action.. can you even do italics on RU-vid like with two asterisks **maybe?** Edit: nope...
photogrammetry takes a whole lot of pictures and stitches them together to make a point map which gives you a lot of dots in space that can show surfaces and their distances and stuff. looks like a 3d model in the end
Looking at this, I really want to see environmental interaction added. Actual wind and dust. Like an HE grenade can make a dust cloud in an area which works like a half smoke. And a molly can throw shadows. So imagine a dust cloud in the middle of long obscuring your vision and a molly, or the sun, behind the other team shows their shadows through the cloud. And a gust of wind could blow it all away.
That is the graphics that I dreamed for CS before the CS GO. I'd like to see a counter strike version with graphics like battlefield, call of duty and other games like that
the thing is the game still needs to run at a stable framerate. it's not like cod where it doesn't matter since there's autoaim anyway. cs is supposed to be a professional game and this kind of detail wouldn't be stable on most PC's
actually you can run CSGO even with textures like those shown in this video with a GTX 970. It's not like you need a lot to run this game, also keep in mind, your GPU isn't processing too much of stuff since the map (actually the whole game) is small and the game itself is simple compared to Battlefield or CoD .. no hate, just my opinion ;)
