@@paulmarles Hi Paul can I use some quotes includes names of companies like this sample "First Nobel Prize in Physics awarded to physicist William Shockley (1956)" on the word search book or it's Copyrighted
There’s no competition in the world; the only competition that exists is a belief an individual holds within them self. Beliefs are reflected out into the individuals world which further reaffirms their belief. If you change your belief, you change your world! Great video Paul! xx
I am almost finished with my second coloring book using text-to-image software. I have found that one of four images are winners and can be used with little to no changes. The first coloring book I did this way is currently my best seller.
That's excellent. I did try it briefly and found the same thing, that about 1 in 4 images were useable. Really pleased that you're having success using it. 👍
I started doing this a couple days ago and with the software that i found is the same, 1 of 4 images generated its a good one. I have a question for you. Hoy much images do you included on your books?
The Ai straight copies existing text from the internet and may change 1 word or more. It is a word spinner. The content already exists. Even for images. There are Ai detectors like a copyscape that detects Ai vs original and is accurate. Amazon will detect duplicate content and then ban accounts holders.
@@paulmarles And yet … I’m sure that will be happening. (Who am I kidding? I’m sure it is already happening!) The fact is that, boring as it might be, the writing that ChatGPT turns out is at least readable. And the other fact is that, sad as it might be, a large swathe of Amazon shoppers don’t have a lot of discernment when it comes to well-written prose.
this AI really blows my mind i was playing with it the other day and I came up with plenty of pen names that I could use for my next projects it also make great descriptions as I really hate to write them lol this is really helpful and I hope they will make it even better because the data in it are just up to 2021 HE CAN'T answer questions of a present time but they say that they will release chatGPT4 soon which is more advanced ...thank you Captain for sharing this video
Warning about quotes: You cannot legally use a quote attributed to a celebrity, business, or media content (movies, tvs, songs, etc) unless YOU are the copyright holder of that quote, if the person that the quote has been attributed is still alive, or has been dead for less than 70 years. For instance, Yogi Berra made some iconic humorous quotes, but he's only recently died. Exceptions: Politicians or individuals who make quotes while in office or campaigning for office, or any of their staff. There are other exceptions, but for the most part, if the quote comes from a copyrighted source, then you can NOT use it profitably in your book. Now, you can use the quotes of anyone who's been dead for 70 years or more, current year of 2023 makes the cutoff day, the same day in 1953. For instance, as of February 1, 2023, I can quote anyone who has died before February 1, 1953, regardless of context. But copyrighted movies and songs still cannot be used until they enter the public domain. It's a sticky wicket, but Amazon is particularly wary of quotation puzzles for that very purpose.
Thanks for the ideas. I always enjoy watching your videos. I have been playing around with ChatGPT to find its limitations. It seems to be able to provide answers on even the most obscure topics. I recently used it to write the blurb for my kids' puzzle book. Although I have been a contract writer for quite a few years and even been a university lecturer, it did it faster and possibly better than I could. I am not sure if that is uplifting or depressing.
Fantastic software indeed, but certainly a sure-fire way to contribute further to the over-saturation of the already over-saturated low and medium content book markets on Amazon.
@Sonomacats The "really stand out" is what's not so easy, because your "stand-out" book will out of necessity not start out on page 1 of a niche. And no, people do NOT search using complicated long-tailed keywords (so-called sub-niches), they search for the basic product ... where your book may be on page 379 ... never to be seen (stand out).
I've actually found that the lists it comes up with are pretty inaccurate if you fact-check them, at least in the niches I'm pursuing. I would rather produce a product that provides real value to informed consumers than just saving some time. But when it comes to writing blurbs, descriptions, etc., creative things that don't need to be fact-checked, it's really, really good.
I am excited by AI! Let's embrace it as it will make our lives so much easier. It's like so many inventions, in the wrong hands it can be used for nefarious purposes. But we can say that about so many things-- such as misuse of the internet or airplanes being misused and flown into the world trade center, automobiles driven by drunk drivers and reckless drivers, people misusing plastic surgery, ski masks worn by robbers instead of for protection from the snow and cold, and so on and so on.
Funny enough I just started using this for an activity book. It does have limitations and it helps if you know your topic to double check the responses. Definitely liking it so far.
I think using it for content inside the book, i.e. to create a non fiction or fa iction book may lead to getting your account banned. if not now, in the future. Google can detect AI generated content and so I'm sure Amazon can too or will be able to.
I'm curious too. I was wondering about plagiarism on amazon say pertaining to riddles. i was thinking of riddles and the bot gave me some same stuff that is already on the internet. do you know anything about this with amazon?
Yes it might or close to it. Imagine if I gave AI 10 dictionaries. Asked it for definition of "publishing" AI might paraphrase or give straight out of one of ten in its db. Now imagine 100s asking for definition of publishing.
My concern is with copyright. Chatgpt and others scrape the web and resources without care for copyright. I would use it as if you were paraphrasing from a book or using it to give you ideas but not copy-paste. Remember that checkbox you click in KDP "I own the copyright" for book iam publishing.
That's interesting, don't you use Google? Lots of sites use the same information, there aren't many original ones right now, but the artificial intelligence just helps and gives you the idea; and you, if you are so talented, can create your own masterpiece and no one will tell you that you stole it.
I watched another video on chat gtp where they run the answers through a plagiarism checker software and it’s flagged nearly every time. Which I’d assume would represent an issue for content that goes on products sold specially on Amazon
I’m concerned that platforms like KDP are just going to be flooded with low quality and low creative content just like the no/low content offerings on that platform 🙄🤭
The only question that it brings up is how much duplicate content it will bring up. If two different people are asking for the same niche, will it be pretty much visibly identical if those people don't tweak it a bit before using it. I played around with it as well, for book name suggestions and it came up with names of already published books. It is a very fascinating tool thought and I look forward to playing around with it some more. Also, are puzzle/activity books not considered medium content books these days? Or are they still low content?
Be careful though, i'm french and for the "10 single words related to 17th century French poetry" request, chatGPT is listing 2 poets that are not from that century. Chateaubriand is from the 18th century, Ronsard from the 16th... Don't sell anything without double/triple checking first
This is very interesting and I will certainly be using it. Creative Fabrica have their own Chat GPT which I have tinkered with for creating blurb for the back of my KDPs, I don't know how it compares to this. Have you looked into AI Art platforms yet? I can't see any videos on your TY channel relating to that. I am trying to use MidJourney to make colouring books but it isn't all that easy! Some great results though.
Got to be very careful to check the results you get with this though. I just did a prompt for crossword question and answers related to impressionistic painting techniques and at least two of the answers were quite incorrect.Would not be good to have used those in an actual crossword book!!
Wow, potential for duplicates, copyright infringement, inaccurate facts, potential for many customers' complaints, closed accounts... Amazon will have a lot more work! Might actually be good for the rest of us who will shun the pre-digested work. Great tool for some aspects, but not copy and paste garbage.
ChatGPT displays the caveat in the beginning that it has data up to 2021. So I asked Chat GPT to give me profitable kdp niche keywords for 2023. Chat GPT said "Sorry, I am not able to browse the Internet and therefore do not have access to current data on the most profitable keywords for self publishing on Amazon". The year 2023 in the query triggered this response. So, that is it. It has collected data up to 2021, so don't ask for up-to-date information. But it can be immensely helpful in answering all other questions. By the way, friends! do you know that this facility is available in Canva now? In its infancy though.......😀
I didn't watch your video but I found out about a month ago or more that ChatGPT is useless in creating a story based on some of my ideas because it's based on a poorly written program by biased software writers. I tried it once and haven't used it since.I wonder how in the hell you got it to write anything useful let alone anything substantial?
Dear Paul, Sorry! Congratilations, ChatGPT ChatGPT is at capacity right now Get notified when we're back Write a poem about the status of ChatGPT. ChatGPT, oh ChatGPT With AI so smart But alas, it’s at capacity Leaving us to wait For a chance to chat With its wisdom and wit We long to be part Of its conversation But for now, we sit On the sidelines Patiently waiting For the day When ChatGPT Is ready to play Again.
I gave Chat GDP a spin a week ago, very impressive. But I’ve found the content it produces is limited. So one has to especially watch for others who already used those questions and created the same content.
Nice work, I have done this just yesterday for word search lists and quotes. This is very fast and accurate, I have checked on google on most of the quotes that Chatgpt suggested and they are accurate.
The AI tools are incredible. I've made a coloring book, from scratch, in a single day using text-to-image AI commands. It's a gamechanger for sure. And yes whilst it does mean it's easier to create content, it means that there's less repetition for consumers by people using sites like creative fabrica (which a great thing IMO)
This is totally a stupidity. You are not helping rather making the market more saturated, making people to make junk of books with this ideas. Now people will blindly make rubbish book and publish tons of foolish book though the market is already filled with poor books now through your videos it will be more increase. I know for this video your channel will grow but it going to hurt for real publishers. Very bad
I played around with it today as an experiment with creating blogs - holy cow! While the generated content is usually spot on - it is usually “generic.” And - there is no guarantee the information is correct.
I think how you are suggesting using it is fine but I have seen other RU-vid folks get this chat thing to write a books for them and publish it as their own. In America copyright is only for people and it’s dishonest to claim to author a book they did not. How do you think Amazon is going to deal with this? As a consumer would you want to buy a book on relationships or gardening techniques only to find out a person did not write it but a machine? Doubtful.
Hey, Paul! I have a very important question for you because I've seen you doing a similar thing in one of your videos. Can you use free Canva images in your book cover when the image is not 'as-is' but part of your unique design? I have used a Canva free image designed by Canva (an illustration of a hat) in the cover of my journal for KDP that I published more than a year ago (the cover design was unique and fully created by me, and I don't use the image 'as-is'). I have just recieved email from KDP saying that 'this book may include an image on your book’s cover for which you may not have the necessary rights'. I'm always very serious about copyright and always double check to make sure I don't violate any. Am I missing something? This is such a shock to me. Canva doesn't give seperate copyright lisence for their images, so is there a way to provide KDP with a lisence proof (other than just a link to their general lisence guidelines page)?
All they have is their license page. You would need to contact Canva support to see if they have additional information you could offer. I would write and say you obtained the image from Canva and a link to the license.
I am so glad you did a video on this! Your videos taught me how to do coloring books so easy a while back! they may be allot of books hitting Amazon but it still revolves around the individuals creativeness and you can create unique things with AI.
I think AI is going to make it so much easier to create a journal, for example, without having to rack your brains to think of content, quotes etc. People are still going to want to have printed books to write in, so we get to spend more time on design and layout. May have to spend some time checking English vs US spelling tho'.
@Paulmarles862 you are a spammer. People, don't respond to this user with letters behind his name. Paul already mentioned this commenter is an imposter.
Hi Paul, Children's Books. You get so many ideas. Rewrite a little, add pictures and covers and you're done. Example: Write me a funny story for six year olds with 300 characters about a donkey and the child Emma on the beach. Then when I want more ideas I write: Write me another chapter. You can repeat this endlessly and it gives you lots of suggestions and ideas with each additional chapter. Have so created in the last 3 weeks 8 children's books. I love this tool.
❤ this is a great way to use Ai! I know people fear Ai but like with any information on the internet, it is only useful if you take action and unfortunately most people won’t take action. 😮
Or maybe it is fortunate that not everyone will take action because that means that the ones that do will reap the rewards. My thoughts on this are while it makes some parts of the process easier for many projects, there is still a lot of work that has to be done by the individual to bring the project to completion, and many people still won't go that extra mile.
I want to run ads on my books that are on Amazon, but I don't know which options are better for me. Do I run Facebook ads or Amazon ads themselves for high sales? Help me
@@paulmarlesHi Paul, the images must be changed from the ai images as the ai images are not copyrightable. Make the image yours by changing it and then it will be copyrightable.
Writing a certain a book and I have a charecter that that needs to change so I put some idea how can this happen with lots questions and this actually help me to give me some idea like MCQ and boom I have idea how can my story change Actually writters can also use chat gpt get some idea when they are stuck You just have to give me him the proper situation and details the story you are writing then it will have you lots of choices that some time you can't think of it
Your mindset is spot-on who i am as well, and i am just simply pleased to meet someone who thinks like me, like a browsing mind. I always wanted to write something but i got discouraged (just in fashion) by several people saying that people do not read anymore. I would love to get your opinions about that. thank you!
When the new Windows came out with their calendars, note pads, scheduling capabilities, contact lists, we all thought paper was dead and where are we now... KDP with all the journals, logbooks, notebooks...... ironic!
