Learn how to create rolling film credits in Adobe Premiere Pro CC using the Essential Graphics Panel. I'll start by showing you how to easily make the rolling or scrolling end credits slide up the screen, how to change the speed of the scrolling, and then I'll walk you through how to use the Type Tool and the essential graphics panel to build and save a motion graphics template (mogrt) for the credits (for future use). The final section of the tutorial will be used to highlight some other ways to customize your credits, like changing its responsive design, and adding a background video or a color matte instead of a black screen. Create ROLLING CREDITS in Premiere Pro CC 2023 | EASY Tutorial for movie credits.

I was afraid to click on this video as this is lengthy. In this time of low attention span, we want things to be shorter and get the job done. But this is lengthy, informative, and at the same time short for the people who just want to get the job done as well. This is the first time I have watched any of your videos. And man, I am a fan already. Great job! You will be a big thing one day for sure 💚

Ha! I get the hesitancy for sure. The length of video is something I experiment with all the time. If it's too short/fast people might be more willing to watch, but then I probably had to leave stuff out. Too long/slow and people might not click on it, even though it probably answers their question (with no filler talk/self promotion/meandering). I'm always weighing RU-vid's algorithm vs making complete/to the point tutorials/lessons. Your comment/feedback/support is much appreciated! Thanks for watching! 👍

11:20 the reason preroll is a thing is because if you scaled the whole thing's size up (not the individual text), and play it, there is a delay, since it is offscreen due to the larger size. So, if you try to cut off the beginning, it won't actually cut off, instead it will still have the delay but the whole thing will be sped up.

Shawn, this is very helpful, but how do you deal with a long credit roll? Once I reach the bottom of the screen I'm barely started on my end roll, and I can only zoom out so far. How do I continue to add layers and more credits?

Thanks for the great tut! I've used the legacy titles for a long time, and I was wondering how to stop the credit roll midway onscreen, like the legacy does? When I try to stop it onscreen with Essential Graphics, it stops at the bottom of the screen. In the past, I had added an identical title (with no roll, just still) after the roll to extend its time onscreen to however long I needed it. If I can get the title to the middle of the screen, that might be workable. Thanks!

You're welcome! Yeah, rolling credits can get tricky if you don't want them consistent the whole way through for sure.

Hey Shawn, I commented earlier but now I'm having trouble finding a way to move selected text incrementally rather than use the pointer. Is there a way? Also, how to delete guidelines? I'm on a Mac Pro. Once again, superb tutorial and thank you in advance.

@ThisGuy
@ThisGuy 2 года назад
Sorry. missed this apparently. Make sure you are selected on the clip within the sequence that you want to "roll" but don't have the "text" selected or anything. If you select the text, the Roll feature will be gone because it's rolling the "clip" not the "text" - let me know if that worked (or if you figured it out already as it did take me 3 weeks to respond)

can someone help me. If I make rolling credits. I copy from a word file and paste it into premiere pro. Then when I export the video. Then the credits are just frozen they don't run. I've tried everything what am I doing wrong. Choosing different video formats doesn't help either.

Shawn - does this work if the movie is 'portrait'? I am making a movie and I don't see a roll checkbox. It's portrait rather than the typical horizontal (like 1980 x 1020). I'm not sure why there's no 'roll checkbox'. Does it work with any font?
@ThisGuy
@ThisGuy 2 года назад
It should. If you have your text selected (like you were going to edit/change your text) it will not show up. Make sure that you have just left clicked on your clip in the sequence only. See if that works.
