2017! Still great videos. Will keep watching more. I second also, for a bit more mathematical explanations as tangent distance. Please keep them coming :) :)
Many thanks! I'm a beginner and was able to complete in about 40 minutes (had to go back and fix 3 pt arcs which I snapped to the wrong point early on), despite it being my first ever 3-D object in AutoCAD.
This is a good tutorial I am something of a AutoCAD newbie but found it reasonably easy to follow, Up until the point of using the fillet function where I seem to be stuck with "cannot fillet between these two entities". For some reason I have followed your tutorial step by step and keep hitting this error.
Craig Fox thanks Craig for your support, In this case you can use two methods 1. press Ctrl+A >> X >> press enter and then apply fillet or 2. reduce radius of fillet
sir please help me to filter command when i select one line it is selected properly but when we put the curser on other line which we want to filter it show that these two lines does not filter
Hi! First of all I just want to say that your videos are amazing! I'm a beginner in AutoCAD and I've always had trouble picking it up but your videos are so easy to follow. I'm just having some problems when it comes to using fillet. There are two corners that will not let me use the fillet command. When I try to select the edges it just creates an arc and some weird lines. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
nice video . Brought back the memories of my AutoCAD class 15 yrs ago. But pls work on ur video and would like if u re- update some videos with good audio as well. Good job bro
richard agochi I am glad you enjoyed my videos, and thanks Richard for your suggestions I will certainly work on it and I will try to include new enhanced videos to SourceCAD
HI THERE , THANK YOU FOR THE TUTORIAL , ITS VERY HELPFUL , THE ONLY THING I AM HAVING TROUBLE RIGHT NOW IS THAT WHEN I TRY TO JOIN THE OBJECT AFTER EXPLODING IT .... ANY IDEA WHAT COULD I BE DOING WRONG AT THIS POINT /? THANKS IN ADVANCE
Excuse me Sir,just look at the scene of 6:41,how do you join all the separate polylines?would you like to explain the steps slowly?what keys I have to press.thanks
bhao esko jab mai -0.5 per persspull krtaa hu to yee + me jataa h ptaa nhi kyo orr yee fillet bhii nhi ho rhaa h bataoo bhaii kya problem h 2014 ka version h
+Eli Dari in this drawing a random drawing is used so don't take it as standard gear, moreover you may need to find out by simple calculation all dimensions for 30 teeth and 20 mm wheel size.
hi, thanks for this useful tuto, i have a question, when you joined the polylines before the fillet part did you do something else ? i can't fillet out some parts
Bhai pressure angles , adendum , dedendum , involute he ya epicyclic , tooth width tooth thickness ye Sab isMe Kese decide or apply kiya ye To Bta. Plz. Reply karna.
Your videos are extremely good. my friend can you suggest me one way to digitalize engines gaskets shapesinto autocad? i mean: i use to scan the shaper of the gasket, then insert OLE objetc and then using as " carbon paper" i design with autocad followring the profiles. but due to scanner the image is not sharp and result not perfect. ineed tolerances less than 1/10th of millimeter can you usggest better and cheap way to do that? thanks. cheers from italy
Alberto Gulmini Altough OLE is a good method for tracing your sketches you can also use XREF, if imported in .PDF format it can be snapped at crucial points but still its similar to OLE, There is no method for converting images into .DWG directly
i see i try the xref , i obtained good results carbon copyin with splines, doing many many points. let see. great person great tutorial do not stop! thanks
While this could be a decent tutorial, I feel it is missing a lot. For instance, why are the construction lines spaced how they are, why are the circles the sizes that they are? It's all fine when replicating the gear you made in the video for say, the 1% of cases that will require a gear of these exact dimensions, however this tutorial will provide no use in designing your own gear when you need to apply it to your own drawings. For future reference, there needs to be more detailed explanation as to what all the different parts of the entire process actually do.
***** Well Nicholas its good to see your interest in my videos and I totally agree with you that this example cant be used to carry out manufacturing of gear that fits your requirement its just an example I am creating these videos to teach AutoCAD design skills and method of converting raw data into AutoCAD drawings and it wont be possible to discuss mathematical calculations on which these drawings are based on this platform. Still appreciate your concern and I will try to implement it in future videos.
Well said. I guess, this video is solely for the purpose of explaining how to use various commands in 3D AutoCAD. I thank you brother for sharing the knowledge for free. I am learning a lot . . . and I mean A LOT.
thanks sir!its work! and at minute 10.25,when i presspull, the inside are presspull as well, not empty like u.i think i select right boundry.any of your step i missed?
langat gilbert youtube does not allows downloading videos you can only watch it online, you can subscribe to my channel so that you can access videos whenever needed or bookmark link of spur gear video.
+Marius Cheng I have shown steps of changing to 3d modelling workspace in this video's beginning ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tV9c26ADGH8.html
Shaik Moulali Thanks Shaik, I have used approximate dimensions for making this model. I am attaching reference image you can download it from here goo.gl/V0qkV3
You can download free student version of AutoCAD from official Autodesk site for educational and non-commercial use. Links for downloading and installing the software are mentioned below. Download: www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/autocad Installation: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tnEY7dMburE.html
I agree with you Miteltrixel but each software serves its specific purpose and AutoCAD is specifically made for 2D drawings yet it sometimes can be used for 3D modelling as well so it wont be fair to call it inferior than other softwares, and yes fillet can be made before array but that would have confused novice autocad user about selecting entities for array.
I rendered this thumbnail image in Keyshot which is a paid software cost about 1000$ but you can make realistic renderings in AutoCAD as well, here is an AutoCAD rendering tutorial ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_Xqz7s73RK4.html Blender is an open source and free tool which can also be used to create stunning renderings here is the link www.blender.org/download/
You need to make calculations based upon gear layout, if you want to try your own gear use these layouts i hope it would help db.tt/Yof1gNkb db.tt/kwCDoQTk Gud luck
Well and which unity do you use in your video because I'm french and millimeter would be easier to use for me.. anyway, I want to design 2 gears in order to have 1:2 reduction or 1:5. The first gear ( smaller ) should have a 40 mm pitch diameter.. How to make calculation with this hypothese..
Clement Malissard although i used inches here you can convert all dimensions used in this tutorial to mm, just multiply with 25.4 all dimensions for making intermittent gears scale down pitch circle of original gear and reduce number of teeth in smaller gears.
These are just random numbers, not the one(s) which I have obtained after doing some meticulous calculations and the main objective of the video is to teach AutoCAD 3D tools.
I already made this but unfortunately I accidentally cancelled my work now I try to make this again but something's went wrong with the poly line when I join it and when I click it it clicks the first line not the whole I don't know what to do I repeat this many times and it never work like the last time I made perfectly accurate with your work.
Looks like you are not able to select overlapping objects, you can turn on selection cycling to make accurate selection. Type SELECTIONCYCLING press enter then type 1 and press enter again. then select objects and all overlapping will appear in a menu select required object.
On the contrary, it's rather easy to make things in new versions of AutoCAD including 2016, here is another version of this video if you are interested ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0ChAuV3MeX4.html
Thanks for showing intrest in my videos, I generally explain all tools and sub tools while explaining commands (visit channel page) if you find missing subtools let me know and i will update it.
If it is related to joining arrayed geometries then you need to first explode the geometry before using union or join command. To use explode command select geometry then type X and press enter. Repeat join or union after using explode command.
Dear Sir, Please review your gear design terminology because you are not designing as per gear design guide line . Regards, Ashok Pareek International Advisory Member of W.A.T.T.
Obviously, it is not an actual Spur gear design, it is for representation purpose only and many dimensions are randomly assumed and simplified to make the video.
That was my first video on SourceCAD which was recorded with default laptop mic, obviously now I use professional mic :) Check my new videos here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KbllQGAFDu4.html
