You can rotate an object an exact amount around another object by setting up a rotate trigger to rotate it that amount, then entering editor playtest mode, pausing and then copypasting the rotated object. The duplicate of the object will count as not having been rotated and won't reset its position when you end the playtest.
I had the idea to use collision boxes to fix the layering problem with 3d objects made using gradient triggers. I never figured how to execute that and just gabe up. Nice to see other people like you came up with that idea as well. And you even managed to execute it nicely! Gd is gonna be so powerful with this gradient trigger lol
I would've likely simplified the collision group stuff to a sequence trigger instead of individual groups and triggers/ But non-the-less, this is very impressive!
@@mr_thecyborgThat will still work because no matter what game type you're in, classic or platformer, the triggers will always load in sequence like in classic. A spawn loop would still work
Maybe that’s better to rotate instantly the shape backwards sometimes to avoid messed up layers instead of collisions. At least that will help to extend shape without adding million groups
What if you need to use different side colors though? Like, what if you were making a 3d spinning rubik's cube? You'd have to change the colors every time then because each side is different in color. You could use color triggers but is it really more efficient?
Geometry Dash is a rhythm-based platform game developed and published by RobTop Games. It started being sold for two dollars on August 13, 2013. It is a 2D platform game that involves dodging geometric obstacles (spikes, walls, and creatures) in a series of levels that you can complete.
I wonder if you could, instead of working with collision triggers, just rotate the gradient triggers. So that the right most gradient triggers are the ones that handle the front walls.
Finally a nice tutorial about 3D in GD 2.2, now I can create everything I wanted to [Problems with layers*] Ok, let's continue the video... -And we are gonna use collission triggers" WTF is a collission trigger... [No explanation about how the hell collission triggers works*] Well, another tutorial about collission triggers
