Join us as I film my husband create a gravel pathway for the new raised garden beds, starting with laying down cardboard & landscape fabric. Since this project took longer than expected, I decided to go to Lowes to check out the clearance racks since I wanted to change out some of my containers.
You'll have to stay tuned for future videos to see the raised bed pathway fully completed with arbors in place. Thanks for watching us on another set of never ending projects at Martin House Flowers! 💚🦋

Loved this video, Anne. And oh my the “sigh”… that was too funny. I can relate! But Greg deserves a big round of applause 👏🏻 for the beautiful gravel pathway and edging. Amazing you did all that during the hot week. Hope things have cooled down for you. Have a great day! ☀️

@@PrettyLittleGarden2930 Good Morning Jen! Thank you!! I thought he deserved to be featured on the video with all his hard work, but he still hates being on camera lol. We got a big thunderstorm last night, so hopefully it cools off this week. Have yourself a good day too! 💚👩🏻‍🌾

I will never use landscaping fabric ever again soil will come and weeds roots go right through and pulling it up is a nightmare. I have just expect the weeds to come no matter what. But looks good otherwise.

Did you also use cardboard underneath the landscape cloth? We tested it for several weeks between the furthest 2 beds, with just cardboard & landscape fabric and no grass or weeds grew through. We also decided to top it with 3 layers of gravel instead of mulch, since mulch breaks down.

@@MartinHouseFlowers I live in Florida so my experience is just different here. The jungle always finds ways to win. I used a commercial fabric and stone in 3 years it was over taken by nutsedge and spurge I don’t think the seeds germinated underneath the fabric but on top as dust and dirt accumulated over time. I not saying it won’t work but once those invasive plants invade it’s next to impossible to remove the fabric. Cardboard is a cool idea but it breaks down. I understand what you are trying to accomplish. I don’t want to be a downer but I am just sharing my experience. I go to nurseries often and noticed that they lay their fabric down and that’s it no stone or any aggregate. I assume that they can hose it off from time to time. I am going to replace with just crushed granite and use pre emergent and herbicides to control the weeds.

@@P-47D_theJug I totally understand, thank you for sharing your experience! Every garden has challenges for sure. We struggle with a lot of creeping weeds from the empty lots surrounding us.
