Practical FX are very expensive and time consuming, much more so than CGI. But another huge main reason why big film companies like Marvel and Disney DONT do it when they can afford it is because practical SFX work is unionized, meaning they can't get away with poor pay and crunch time. They don't even really have costume people anymore cause that work is unionized too, they just CGI on all the superhero costumes. Not to mention they outsource the majority of their CGI out of country so they have more opportunities to pay the artists less and demand more.
Hearing more Shinedown on this app makes me love it. I love Shinedown. It’s my favorite band actually! And amazing mask. I don’t know how people make it so good!
That mask is so realistic that when it was fully put on I started to think it was an animation. I mean the mask is so realistic that I believed it couldn't be real.
the funny thing is there's barely anything done to it between those steps other than drybrushing cream colored highlights! the texture of the mask made sure all the details were popping afterwards
Not only was this an absolutely outstanding work of art but the presentation and the song accompanying (“How Did You Love” by Shinedown) it gave me chills.
Best shorts so far. From the music selection and the setup for it all. The presentation is amazing. Seems you really thought through everything in this shorts just to show an amazing skill work with this cosplay mask. The mask looks very real thing worthy for a top class movie!
@@MadValraven oh yeah. I wish we could replay the campaigns. Going from the end of destiny 1 to the opening scenes of d2 was cool. Now apparently you just get dropped in with a "what's been happening" video to catch you up.

Would love to see the whole process of the Mask being maid from star to end. If in the future you will make a full tutorial of how you made it i would gladly watch it
Ironically..."trust the process" doesn't apply to this. AT ALL. the thing looked amazing at every step of the way. When you say "trust the process" it means you think it looks horrible or doesn't work or will never work in the early stages, but turns out awesome at the end.

I love shinedown so much omg!! And their concerts are FIRE! Literally! The last one I went to, as part of the show, they had fire blazing off the stage!
@@kami-965 dude! I saw them twice in CT last year. both times the shows were "lit" lol. the fire, the music, and the kind souls make me come back to them. no band represents standing together in support and defiance as well as they do.

I've wanted to make a hive knight cosplay since i got the pit of heresy sword, this has blown all my ideas out of the water. seriously looks like a render from in game
