good no bs tutorial. Every youtube tutorial on this subject I've seen takes several times the amount of time/episodes with all the typing and reciting and refactoring left in just to convey what you've condensed down to 9 minutes. Sometimes you'll finish an episode and homie will even be like "oh man, there's a bug I left in the last episode" smh. It's awesome you give the high level reasoning without the other noise getting in the way, and if we want to code along we can always just pause the video. It's dense and new coders might be intimidated without the handholding, but incredibly valuable for those who are comfortable with code and just want to do the thing--an under served population imo. Even with beginners, leaving these gaps lets them do their own research to fill them in, which accelerates learning quite a bit. Great format, i hope it catches on!
I'm so happy to see this comment as it was my intention when I created this video, thanks for the excellent feedback! I will be sure to follow it in my future videos :)
This is fantastic! Such a simple system that can be so widely utilized! Would it be alright if I implemented this system in my own game? I've written my own save system, but it's way more needlessly complex and yours is so much simpler! Wonderful video by the way, love the new editing style! :D
Hello, could you make a video showing how to save the neural network file to JSON for the previous self driving car series? Or post the code on git? I am struggling to do it by myself
Awesome :), am I right that with this implementations without edits, you can only have one save per scene? That's a good thing to implement, and I like that you're leaving things blank for us to figure out. Figuring things yourself is necessary to learn programming ;)
how to make a snapping system based on anchors (North, West, South, East points) with setting of occupied points when the object is attached and unoccupied points when the object is detached in Unity?
Great video! May I ask, what resources do you use to learn these types of things? I tried to read the documentation of unity, but that's too long and obscure
Hi! I just tested on Unity 2020.2.1f and it works perfectly, ensure that you are using URP and that you allow it upgrade the materials when you start the project. Best way is to go to GitHub and download the sample project and try that out, should work fine :D
I actually haven't started using unity... I wanted to study Coding... I just love ur video.... bro any suggestion, how to learn coding for unity (c#), How did you study?
So basically... i have to start now.... there is a unity website where they teach about coding... i just need to know somthing basic... i want to study blender too...
I am wondering how do you handle security, when it comes to a user changing the JSON file on its own? JSON is rather easy to read even for non developers, so my concern about using JSON like this is that people could easily "hack" the game and gain non deserved advantages?
Of course, there is a format called BSON which would add more security; and if that's not enough usually you would merge the different files and run an encryption algorithm over it. However, this tutorial is just designed to give an introduction to saving, you can switch out the method of saving in the SavingManager 😁
