Recently I took up a freelancing project where I worked with @Thomas Brush to put together a code base for him to begin the development of his game smoothly. I took care of many of the large systems that would slow down development. Things such as a player controller, dialogue system, saving mechanics, basic weapons, enemies and pathfinding, and much more.
I am planning on turning a lot of these mechanics into RU-vid videos and also releasing an Udemy course, so if you're interested in that make sure to subscribe and stay tuned!
Also make sure to wishlist "Father" on steam: store.steampowered.com/app/15...
* Also I am so thankful for the 5000 subscribers, never thought we would reach this mark and it's so awesome to see a community forming! *
----- LETS TRY AND HIT : 50 LIKES ✌ --------
★ Upcoming Videos :
- How to write a Dialogue System ❤
- How to create a Saving System ❤
◕‿◕ The next part is even better and in order for you to see it you have to subscribe and tap that bell icon to be notified.
☾ Stay tuned for the next episode, I will be releasing new videos once every 5 to 6 weeks discussing what I have done over the course of the weeks, always giving you some good entertainment with some knowledge on how you can tackle complex challenges in your own games! (◕‿-)
I'll see you next time ✌

Wow. Dude, this is impressive! Legend! Man, I also want to develop games (I'm 19 though) but I'm not as talented as you at all (even though I'm following a computer science class). The problem is that I got really big projects on my mind, but as I say it, this is "big", too big. Yet I have no idea what to do as little projects to just improve my skills. Do you have any advice on where to really start learning making games and have conceivable ideas to improve gradually? This would really help me to just clarify what game dev is really about. Anyway, you got all my attention because you are inspiring to me. Thanks for showing what is really possible. Keep up the good work with Thomas Brush!
@batchprogrammer108
@batchprogrammer108 3 года назад
Hey man thanks so much! I also had big dreams of big projects and I ended up not being able to finish, so I took some time to improve my skills in Unity and some of the most fun projects Ive worked on were during game jams, they force you to learn without any long term commitment. Think of a small game you like or even a big one and pick out mechanics in that and just try to implement it without trying to finish a game, it will teach you a lot when it comes to programming. In terms of general game dev I'm also on the same journey as you trying to create my first game, so probably can't help you out there haha

@@batchprogrammer108 Ok Then! Thanks a lot for your advice, even as little as it seems to be, this really help me. I think I'll take all the time to learn Unity during the next holidays. ;)

I’m deep into a project right now. My recommendation would be think of a cool LEVEL. That way no pressure to waste time dreaming up an entire narrative/universe. Then just make it as polished as possible. Do everything the “proper” way. You can bend rules as you go but make sure you understand the fundamentals. I had to do a lot of backtracking in my first project due to getting ahead of myself. Good luck. 👍
@marcusaasjensen
@marcusaasjensen 3 года назад
@@bertconnell Thank you man! Ye I think I will first learn how to make great polished scenes to have an idea of what would the game looks like. Thomas Brush really points the fact of making an excellent prototype and sending it to people to have some feedback. Well, I think I will begin some tiny stories like "there is no game" type of game and improve little by little with free games.

Hey Ajay. It's been some time since this and the plans about releasing the character controller, assets in the Unity store or the udemy course didn't seem to have happened yet. ( at least i didn't find them ). I assume something changed, happened or didnt go as planned, so i hope youre well and doing fine.

Hi! I just tested on Unity 2020.2.1f and it works perfectly, ensure that you are using URP and that you allow it upgrade the materials when you start the project. Best way is to go to GitHub and download the sample project and try that out, should work fine :D
