I think what makes this kind of stuff so terrifying is that instead of drawing anything realisticly, artists just collage this creatures from photo, but trying to stick with somewhat original drawing style/proportions. This goes right into uncanny valley, cause this things look like meat puppets, created from actual living beings.

I think it's the cartoon eyes that puts it straight in to creepy territory :) Fun video!

Wouldn't Slinky just look the same, as he is a toy. He wasn't an actual animal but a toy version of an animal, and toys are often very cartoon-ish.
