In this video we walk through how to create a Copilot template and then how to create a new Copilot from a template. This one is a little technical and a little longer than my normal one, however there are a few gotchas that I make sure to call out. I wanted to make sure that you got the full steps as this is probably one of the most important to many of my followers.

Hi Dewain, thank you for all your videos. I wanted to understand if it is possible to connect a dataverse table to the "generative answers" feature of copilot? For example if I have a "Case" table with issue, issue description and resolutions, can we get the Copilot generate responses to user entered queries accordingly? Or is there a better way this can be done?

Yes, you can you need to use the custom data approach and get a query with the data and then turn it into a table that is structured properly. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-copilot-studio/nlu-generative-answers-custom-data

@@Dewain27 thanks for your prompt response. But wouldn't we have to query the entire database table everytime a user asks a query? Wouldn't that be undesirable? If so, is there a completely different, yet better way to go about it without the "generative actions" route?

Hi Dewain, That's interesting but when can we expect a no-code solution for ordinary users of Copilot Studio?

I am asking for that from the team, but many will want to use the CLI as this would be part of a provisioning process with a COE or such.

I think the low(er) code solution today is the ability to export a bot (as a solution) and import it into another environment.

@@D365Goddess Yes, that's what I was thinking too. If my Solution has been used/tested and seems like a good 'starting point', then I can distribute the solution export for anyone to use for new bots. @Dewain27 Is there an advantage in using the Power Platform CLI rather than a Solution?
