There are a few starters who seem to be... missing. 6 to be exact. In this video I create some Fakemon that fill these missing starter roles. Hope you enjoy! Video Credits: docs.google.com/document/d/1b...
An interesting thought occurred to me when you mentioned Charmander is a salamander. Axolotls are also types of salamanders, that would mean they’re just missing a grass salamander. It would also mean Sobble and Treeko need a fire lizard. It’s all subjective, but a fun alternative list.
Chameleon have chameleon in it name which is a lizard and charizard have zord from lizard Edit:thanks for the heart and also I meant charmelon have chameleon in it and izard. Curse autocorrect!
@@BlobFishSucksAtThings yes but we should also remember this is just English and not Japanese Hell some are pretty basic (though to Japanese I guess it sounds “foreign”) such as Showers for vaporeon and Blacky for Umbreon lol Actually…hitokage is some sort of play on fire lizard I believe? And then the other 2 are apparently just Lizardo and Lizardon mdmejeejwjkwwk
That's actually true. For a Grass flightless Bird it could be an Ostrich in design and for the flight capable Fire bird, we could do a Robin for it's design.
Piplup and Torchic are mostly flightless birds which is missing a grass type (Ostrich pr actual kiwi fruit Kiwi bird maybe) while Rowlett and Quaxly are flying birds missing a fire type. I know its not based on species but maybe it still works out.
I always wanted a fire parrot starter. Could be a sun conure, with the final evo being a scarlet macaw with a flame tail and a fiery cockatoo crest representing the sun's rays.
Also, Torchic and Quaxly are both Galloanserae (Quaxly's line is even based on two diffrent species of Galloanserae); so a Turkey, Quail or Pheasant Grass starter would also be great!
Judging by how all of the water starters are semiaquatic, a cool idea would be to have a fishing cat based starter, a creature native to Southern Asia that fishes for food and hangs out a lot in water.
2:15 Minor thing, but Skunks are no longer part of the mustelid family. They make up their own family Mephitidae, which sits closer to Raccoons and Red Pandas than Weasels and Badgers.
True! The Zorilla is a polecat though, which is in Mustelidae (so they’re actually more related to otters and badgers than they are to skunks) So Zorileaf fits in perfectly with Cyndiquil and Oshawott.
Considering every generation there has been an alligator starter, I imediately went for it, I think I would go with Palilly. The art is fantastic by the way.
Bombelly is easily my favorite. The art style is pretty much spot on with modern Pokémon art. That could easily be put into the modern games. Would be really interested to see it’s evolutions!
@@hunterboisvert6101 that makes sense, I will say I’m gonna have to make a Zelda Tears of the Kingdom first but I am excited to get started on their evos!
Perspnally, I would have put Pallily's flower either on it's head/snout, or in it's mouth. It's a really cute designe, but the pink flover-green leef green/blue coold blooded water quadroped is bit too similar to Bulbasaur.
While I do like Zorileaf and it’s design, I think it needs to be worked on more. My issue with it is that it looks too much like Sprigatito to me. It doesn’t look different enough to be considered it’s own thing.
@@domidoodleYT I'd say an easy fix for that would be to invert the colors, so that the darker green is the more dominant part of the color scheme as opposed to the lighter one.
@@smackerooonii7001 I did play with that while designing it, and I just picked what looked more appealing to me. Didn’t even realize it looked like Sprigatito at the time
Maybe an angle that shows off a back stripe. In an actual game, the 3D model could give other details and also give more of a distinct personality through its animations.
Kinda wish Bubbli had a pink shiny to reference Mew playing with psychic bubbles in Mewtwo Strikes back, but all these guys are awesome! Hope to see some evolutions too!
I think the little frog is the best. It has a solid design. Some of them need their proportions tweaked to fit more with the other starters. I also noticed that there's a lot of empty space in the design.
Love these designs! I’d have an impossible time choosing among the Chinese trio. Fell in love with Pallily instantly, but I liked Bombelly’s unique design and Bubbli is so cute. 🥹
I would love to see the evolutions for Pallily and Swabian, I love their designs enough but I really want to see where Swabian goes with it’s evolution!
Had an interesting thought for Kamelt evolution, since sand is used in the creation of glass having the evolved forms of kamelt turn its shell into a lava lampesque turtle shell would be interesting in my mind.
Very cool concept! Palilly is my favourite one from this lot, although all of the fakemon here were pretty cool with the their inspirations. Definitely would love to see their evolutions in a future video. Subbed! 😁
I really liked the starters! Really cute and well-drawn! I just think that you should have chosen a more specific part of Africa instead of the continent as a whole to make the reagion, maybe a country like Tanzania or Ethiopia. Anyways, I really want to see what you have in mind for their evolutions! ^^
True, that part just wasn’t as important to me, I was mostly trying to get across the point that I felt they were “missing” starters and didn’t want to confuse with other details. Thank you for enjoying them though!
Too bad Scorbunny’s evolution line is the only rabbit starter Pokémon, I’d love to see grass and water type starters like that someday. And come to think of it, the same can be said for Fennekin and other doggo starters.
@@NightWing1800 I was thinking more along the lines of a sea bunny, y’know, one of those sea slugs that look like white rabbits with black ears. But hey, I like that idea a lot better; good thinking, man!
Palilly is my favourite I need to see it’s final evolution. The final 3 look more like they’re from digimon rather than Pokémon, and Bubbli looks more like a Pokémon you’d catch in the over world, maybe remove the bubble? It has a lot of potential.
Really impressive design skills, i really love how you kwep to yhe art style of pokemon, my gripe with most fan designs is that i wouldnt know its pokemon by looking at it they usually just go off the rails, i love how you stick to the pokemon formula while intograting your own awesome ideas, i particularly love swabian as my favourite line is chimchar and i love pirate themes. Amazing work
allow me to predict the final evo's types: >pallily - grass/fairy >bombelly - fire/steel >bubbli - water/electric >zorileaf - grass/poison >kamelt - fire/ground >swabian - water/dark are they balanced? kinda, yeah. bubbli was the hardest to come up with but i think the rest make some sense. also, for each region i'd pick bombelly and swabian.
Bombelly and Swabian would be my picks too! And I’ll tell you that I might change my mind on the types but at the moment you’ve got 3 out of 6 right! Could always change my mind though… who knows how the design process will go 🤔
I was in the Navy and Swabi also stands for someone with a Swab (mop). I still remember to this day the phrase "Swabi, we have a deck spill!" yell in the galley (cafatiria) when something was droped.
Yes they tried to make the first three starters like real life animal pets. That kids could have here’s a example. Squirtle=Turtle Charmander=Lizard Bulbasaur=Frog Every kid can have one heck even all three in real life.
Petition to make the first trio the starters for the region the Treasures of Ruin are originally from. These are lovely, thank you! I support any new cat Pokemon. XD
Connecting alligators to the grass type using the idea they look like logs is so creative yet logical. And the name sounding like lillypad backs is a great addition to just combining the two words together. They're are a lot of layers in all these designs love it.
The Water type cat starter is cute, though I still think that the actual one would have to be a Water/Dark Maine Coon that will, like the last two cat starters, be bipedal when fully evolved.
@@domidoodleYT I can see why some people consider the bipedal designs to be furrybait, Lopunny and Tsarenna for example, few quadrapeds are in the same boat; poor Vaporeon. Can't wait to see the video on the evolved forms, especially for the cat, turtle and the skunk.
I remember before the game was released a lot of people thought quaxly was going to be based on navel seamen, but it never came to pass. It's a missed opportunity that I'm glad you put some life into.
I could definitely see some great potential in these trios, the cat mon could go down the shaman route, the skunk could go down the camouflage route, the turtle could gain a shell made of Desert glass on its back, and its very obvious where the monke can go lol
All of the starters are awesome BUT MY BOY SWABIAN dahhhm could you imagine a pirate kind water type that would be SICK! (Loved the video great work 👍)
Game Freak should hire you. They won't, because they hate fun and interesting ideas, BUT they should hire you. And honestly. i'd love to see an evolution line for these little fellas, reckon you'd pull out something amazing.
