Thanks guys .- much appreciated. I attempted to consolidate the lesson into a summary / checklist for those who don't like to take notes - feel free to do with it what you wish: Hole Design Variety AND Consistency Pars - distribution Distances - variety / distribution Hole and Dog Leg Direction - variety / distribution / balance Hazards - variety / location / balance / varied condition application Fairways - variety / consistency / playable for all skills & conditions Sculpting & Surfacing Smooth and Natural Keep Widths & Sizings realistic and consistent Keep Transitions smooth Keep Undulations, Elevations, and Cambers realistic and sensible Keep Bunkers realistic, consistent and sensible Greens Consistency in sizing and sensible Contours and sizing should be fair for hole strategy & the length / type of approach Contours and Slopes should work with the various pins and approaches to said pins Four playable pins (no crowns, reds, oranges etc.) Aesthetics Planting / Environment (making it immersive) Create an environment Planting should be natural for the environment Try to eliminate all "negative space" - fill the environment Lighting to fit the environment 360º vistas Sightlines - ensure good sight lines. They are not just eye candy - be aware of blind shots

Thanks man, I was thinking that a checklist would be a great idea but was too lazy to write it all down :)

Thanks a lot fellas - I've taken a lot from yours and Ben's tutorials to help me build a base from which to start. As someone who is very active on the forums, I really appreciate the work that the reviewers do - and I wouldn't be upset if my National Treasure course didn't get Tour Worthy for sure. Also, planting is bad on Xbox on PS4 - just wait until you see the Nintendo Switch...

Very helpful gentleman,I need to keep a note book with me to remember all of these tips as I am a tad older than maybe people watching. It would be great to see am area on the TCG website with guidelines or checklists of what reviewers are looking for. I have been designing my first course and soon to be on the Xbox laying it out and a goal is definitely tour worthy status. Is there away to have courses looked at in advance or upload it a second time under a different name and resubmit? I would prefer to make some corrections before uploading as one would hate to built a fantastic course in every way but the same mistake through the course like bunker sculpting was not up to par and holds it back.

My biggest struggle is definitely the patience required to finish a course off. I’ve been doing finishing planting on my current project for over a month now but I feel like I’m getting nowhere.

Hi are you aware of the waving land crooked and sharp looking land bug and issue that happens near steep drop offs?

I would love to see a video or two just about play testing and the neat way to so it thoroughly. Not at the stage at test playing my first course I just started. I do basic play testing as I construct the hole but I am assuming tondona massive one where you spend 1-2 hours play testing eachbhole from every conceiveable spot while fizzing things. I have no problem doing this but guidance and strategy on how to play test and what to look for would be great

You don't need anywhere near that much time and that leads to the course becoming sterile (plus will drive you mad). Main thing is any time your eye clocks one of the things we mention, you leap out and change it. Secondary note: watch critical playthroughs of other courses (e.g. mine on Dream Team, Andre's current ones on WC, Reeb's on an old CC contest etc) and see what we pick up on.

@@b101design I have been watching all of your critiques and I have learned a lot. Probably over thinking it. Guess I have that fear of publishing a course and then realizing afterwards that I missed something significant that costs me with you reviewers. People that don't achieve tour worthy, do they get told the reasons why?? Thx again for the guidance,it is greatly appreciated

Thanks for the vids. When submitting courses should you submit 2 versions? One without crowds and one with crowds/stadium seating?
@Crazycanuck1985
@Crazycanuck1985 3 года назад
No need to do that. I never bother with crowds.

How do you guys view tee boxes and course logistics? Do you want to see multiple boxes, cart paths? You touched on varying hole length bug how about course length?
@b101design
@b101design 3 года назад
Good if we can have more than one tee set as it gives schedulers flexibility to use different tees for different rounds - if you can space them at around 300 yards between each (overall distance), that's a good starting point. Cart paths don't matter one way or the other.

@@wearepennst6427 @Fino Caraco I submitted my first course a few months back, and I currently play/build on PS4. You publish the course from your PS4 then, once you've set up an account on the TGC Tour site, submit the details for your course from there. RU-vid will probably block my comment if I include the link, but go to TGC Tours website, select Courses from the options at the top of the screen, then pick Submit A Course. Complete the form, and submit. Your course will then be reviewed. Hope this helps.

I feel like getting approved is easy enough, its having your course actually have an event on them is impossible.

That's what this video is for. It is very difficult, but we set a very high standard.
